I was in property management for 23 years and heard EVERY excuse from EVERY contractor. I'm thankful Amir followed through on EVERY promise. He and his employees did a wonderful job.

Working with Mir and his guys was a pleasurable and easy experience. They just finished my roof this past weekend (11/23) and it came out great. They provided good suggestions with a no-pressure attitude which was very refreshing. They followed the contract and performed everything they said they would. I would definitely recommend them to do work for you.

I had American Star Contracting redo my roof and add a portico to my home at the beginning of 2024. I'm not particularly eager to write a review quickly as I like to see if the work has been sustainable. I could not be happier with Mir and his team. Mir came out to the house to give me a competitive price and demonstrated the products he uses related to GAF Roofing and extended warranty. Several issues were encountered during the installation, like in any installation with older homes, but Mir and his team were able to address those issues.

One of the major repairs that Mir's team undertook was the roof decking, where the gaps were greater than 1/8"(many greater than 1/2"). This repair, while not unexpected, was crucial to maintaining my roofing warranty and, more importantly, my peace of mind. With Mir's expertise and his team's capable hands, I was able to relax, confident that my roof was in good hands.

He also noticed that the chimney crown needed to be rebuilt, evidenced by the broken bricks. I knew this needed to be done since I saw many broken bricks and gaps on the chimney crown throughout the years.

Some might view these additional repairs, such as the chimney crown rebuild and redecking, as extra costs. However, if you've done your research before embarking on roofing work, you'll understand that these repairs are often necessary, especially when working on an older roof and Mir worked with me again for a fair and reasonable price. Mir and his team's thorough work has left my roof and chimney solid, even in the face of intense rain and windstorms. I wholeheartedly recommend them for any roofing work.

Choosing a roofer can be a bit overwhelming but you are in good hands with Mir and his team. They’ve repaired a crumbling chimney, replaced roof decking and shingles and more recently installed a vent for a bathroom exhaust. Every time they’ve been out to my house they are efficient, clean, responsible and professional. I highly recommend American Star if you need help, I know I would not hesitate to call them again.

We had them over to give a free estimate for a possible leak. They came over right away and we were told we had a cracked drain pipe but that the bigger issue was that we needed a new roof. We bought the house recently and our inspection report assured us we had another good 10 years on the roof. We decided to wait and get a second opinion. When we told American Star we were getting a second opinion, they got very aggressive and blamed us for making them think we were going to hire them. When the time came around for the second opinion we were told we had about 10 years left on our roof and that the drainage pipe should be replaced. Anyone who can't remain professional and makes clients uncomfortable shouldn't be in customer service of any kind. If I can't get a second opinion and ask reasonable questions then why would I ever hire you???

I Am very happy that we chose to hire these guys to replace 30 year old roof and gutters… Mir who runs the show, is an excellent communicator , his crew did an excellent job replacing the roof , the gutters and making some repairs that were needed to the fascia and garage… the roof and gutters look fantastic..his references we spoke to in the area also spoke highly of these guys . great workmanship. 5 stars

Couldn't be more satisfied with this company. Very professional and responsive. They installed a new flat roof, shingle roof, gutters, chimney cap. Looks great! They worked non-stop, unbearable heat and all. Very pleased and would definitely reccomend them to anyone. When we are ready to replace our siding and window frames, will definitely be calling them. And I hardly ever do reviews.

Mir is a pleasure to work with. I had my roof and gutters replaced about a year ago and I I was completely satisfied with the work. Mir’s crew show up on time, work fast and neat. In addition to great job with roof/skylight/gutters/downspouts, excellent exterior and interior painting, and repair of flood damage to walls and floor. They were very responsive to any urgent matter, and professional all the way through a few complex projects. Highly recommended.

American Star did a terrific job on my leaking roof. Mir responded within hours of my initial call; thorough roof inspection the next day, and identified additional problems I was already aware of (leaking around chimney, deterioration under windows). Within a week they were on my roof addressing several points of leaking, sealing my chimney, repairing flashing and fascia, sealing my windows. Mir knows his stuff! He's positive and responsive, courteous and helpful. He goes above and beyond with his team, also nice guys. Highly recommend!

UPDATE 6/9/2023: While the emergency repairs American Star performed last year were great, the rest of my roof proceeded to fall apart after the fix. Fascia was blowing off the edges in multiple places, revealing rotting wood underneath. Mir responded quickly again to wrap the areas that couldn't be repaired and we scheduled a complete roof replacement. My roof has leased solar panels that had to first be removed before replacing the roof. It took 3 months for the solar company to come and remove the panels. Then Mir sent a team who, amazingly, removed and replaced the entire roof (a complicated roof with steep areas of nooks and crannies of shingles) and completed the job in 2 days! Jesus led the team who were diligent, efficient, and detail-oriented. They worked non-stop. They were careful not to damage the shrubs and plantings surrounding my home. And they did a great clean-up of the yard when done. The finished roof is simply beautiful. HIGH PRAISE for American Star, Mir, and Jesus and his team!

My roof needed to be replaced. Mir explained the repair process in detail and offered a competitive estimate. The team started early and completed the job in one day. Mir and his team were courteous and professional throughout the whole process.

A 2025 update: we hired Mir, George and their amazing team to paint the house exterior. They went above and beyond. We love the new look. Not only did they paint but also helped us with little improvements like window fascia, fixing a few stucco cracks, etc. They're extremely attentive to detail and to what we wanted. The pricing remains reasonable. I'll be recommending American Star to all my friends for their quality and reliability.

My experience with American Star from the start was professional & prompt! I had a leak in the chimney, reached out over the weekend and received a call from Mir immediately. Came over on a Sunday after a bad storm, up on the ladder, assessed the damage, gave me an assessment, and the work started and was completed the next day! Very professional and fair priced company. The best contractor I have ever had dealings with. He explained everything he was going to do. They showed me pictures of similar work that they have done prior to any work. Meir also was the only contractor that accommodated to the time I wanted the house inspected for the estimate. They were knowledgeable and communicated exactly what needed to be done and any work that may need to be done in the future. Prices were reasonable communication was excellent and they are very accommodating to any situation. I highly recommend them. Hell they put a roof on my house in one day. Just go with theses guys.
