Shortly after buying our home in White Plains, my wife and I hired Tappan Z to completely remodel the kitchen — including the demolition of a load-bearing wall and closing up an outside door — and refinish the basement.

After interviewing multiple contractors, we chose Tappan Z because of their competitive quote and positive reviews, and they did not disappoint! Theo was communicative, the crew showed up every time they said they would, and the work was completed on schedule. Theo and the team also quickly addressed the inevitable small issues that came up during the project and always kept us informed of the progress.

Had a great experience with Theo and his father! Answered messages quickly and finished the work quickly. An old Verizon phone line was ripped out of the side of my house after a storm came through the area. It tore up a bunch of the siding and a window frame. They fixed the damage and made it look better than before! Highly recommended!!

I needed a shower remodel due to a leak in floor. I called the right people! Theo came by, measured the shower, told us what was needed to correct the problem and priced the job accordingly.Theo was always responsive to my questions. Theo, Jose and their entire staff did the job efficiently, neatly, protected my floors and carpeting and the final result is a beautifully remodeled shower. There’s not enough words to describe how happy we are with our finished basement! Theo and the team were amazing. Theo is so responsible, I don’t think I’ve ever worked with someone who was always there to answer questions right away! The team did an amazing job taking our ideas and making it all happen. Loved working with TappanZ and will use them again for other projects in my home. They were fairly priced, kept the construction area clean, and did a really great job. I’m very pleased with the final product. My door arrived from the vendor scratched up (I had ordered directly) and they went out of their way to contact the vendor to make it right. Finding a good contractor is rare these days. Theo and his crew are among the best at what they do. Fair pricing and excellent work transformed my old Brady bunch bathroom into a modern masterpiece of marble. I could say that I highly recommend them but that would be an understatement.

Tappan Zee did extensive repairs to an old deck. The work was beautifully done. It looks better than ever and has better support. They were very responsive and easy to work with. They also alerted me to an electrical problem they discovered under the deck which needed immediate repair. I would highly recommend them and will certainly use them again for future projects.

I cannot say enough good things about Tappan Z Home. Maybe I should start by saying I absolutely love Theo who with good humor, kindness, professionalism withstood all the crazy requests and unreasonable asks from condo/management board. This renovation wouldn't happen if it wouldn't be for that man. Moving on to his father Jose and their crew, which again are professional, kind, clean people and super talented at their own craft. I gave Tappan Z keys and few weeks later I came into a new looking apartment, beautifully painted, bathroom modern, shelving done, lights, carpets..: everything exceeded my expectations. My place feels like a different apartment, they truly took care of every detail and communicated throughout.

I was hesitant to call a place I found on internet, however, from the moment they came to quote the price I knew I had the right guys. Trust was built automatically and by the end of the renovation Theo feels like family. I couldn't recommend the company more.

TappenZ was great start to finish. Very professional in the initial consult gathering the list of the many projects we needed done, gave a reasonable and competitive estimate, kept us updated on start day, showed up each day at 8am sharp to begin work and worked all day with minimal break time. The team is pleasant and respectful of one’s home. They get the job done well even taking it upon themselves to color match paint outside. We’re very happy we found this team.

I can't say enough good about Tappan Z Home Improvement...so grateful I found this company. Jose and Theo and everyone w/Tappan Z was always respectful, polite, reliable and trustworthy. They showed up on time, worked hard all day and cleaned up at the end of every day. I left my house on more than one occasion with no reservations at all. At planning stage, Jose offered suggestions for the bathroom reno that never even crossed my mind but definitely enhanced the end result. That bathroom reno is now complete and some days, for no reason at all, I turn on those new bathroom lights, stand in the doorway and just stare at everything. I hired tappan zee contracting to do my master bath renovation. They came recommended from a close friend and I have to say I couldn’t have been more pleased. The quality of the work , prompt responses to text and calls ,amazing ingenuity and craftsmanship were truly extraordinary. They are dedicated , hard working and take tremendous pride in their work. The finished product was beautiful and we are very happy. Responsiveness to calls and text is very, very quick and they’re main focus is making their clients happy. I was so pleased I am hiring them again for some other jobs in our house.

Theo & Jose are the absolute best of the best! Along with their team, they renovated my kitchen and did an amazing job! This was my first renovation and I really didn't know what the process was or how it all worked. From beginning to end, they answered all my questions and walked me through each step. They even made some suggestions that never crossed my mind which ended up making my kitchen look that much better. By the end, they left everything looking flawless. Tappan Z HI did a 1/2 bathroom gut renovation at my house. Demo, drywall, tile, and fixtures. They were responsive and worked with me even as I changed my mind about some items. They were fairly priced, showed up on time, and I'm happy with the quality of the work. I would use the again for another project. They paid attention to the details such as rerouting vent exhaust and making a custom door saddle for the connection to an unlevel old hallway.

They were wonderful to work with and my bathrooms are gorgeous! They were promp, clean and responsible (did work during COVID) and they were responsive, very communicative at each step of the way. I can’t wait to do more with them!

These guys do excellent work. They helped to level a concrete wall and hang a huge mirror in my home gym. They are very professional, quick to respond, and do high quality work. Highly recommended!!

Water leak caused ceiling collapse. Sheet rock removed, reinstalled & painted. All done professionally, timely and on budget. I would highly recommend Jose & Theo.

Tappan Zee just completed our deck repair and repainting. Despite numerous weather delays they finished the job in a timely manner, even working on a weekend to make up for lost time. Their communication was excellent, they were extremely punctual and they tidied up the work site each night. There were also no hidden fees; the quote we were given was the price we paid. We were very happy with their work, and will definitely use them again.

I called Jose to replace my toilet. I purchased the replacement from HD. Jose and Theo arrived on time and got to work. They were prepared with all the things needed to complete the job and was done in little over an hour. In that time, they performed an amazing and clean job. They moved the old toilet outside for me and Jose went the extra mile to patch a hole that was located on the wall behind the toilet. So far I have used them three times and each time I am completely satisfied with the results.
