The guys did an awesome job on the re-move and re-installation work. Showed up on time, completed the work quickly (even in excessive heat) and left the area clean. Very happy with the service.

I had to have my solar panels removed in order to have a new roof installed. We had been dealing with Richard and could not have been happier with the customer service. The customer service continued to be at a top notch level when Matt, Eddie and Gordon showed up at my door this morning. They were very polite, and very informative as to what they would be doing. Their trucks were neat and clean as were they, that says a lot about about a company or a crew.
They will be welcomed back in a few days to reinstall the panels. I will be in touch with Richard to request this crew back on my project.
They are an asset to your company. I’m sure glad we decided to go with your company.

I had the crew come back out to reinstall my solar panels and also install squirrel guard on all of my panels too. The squirrels were my problem in the first place, they nested under one of the panels and chewed through my roof.The guards really add a finished look to my panels and entire roof. The crew that came out was the same as the ones that took the panels down and a few other guys. The newer guys were just as polite and so knowledgeable. I didn’t have a question that they couldn’t answer. All of them were very respectful and cleaned up their work area perfectly!
Thanks Richard for the great customer service and tell the crew that they were outstanding. Very hot conditions to work under and it sure didn’t slow them down.

READ BEFORE YOU GO WITH American Century Solar. I did not have any experience with solar before and didn't do much research and went with American Sentry Solar. My first mistake was not doing any research and not shopping around. After 3 years my system has not produced enough to cover my Electric bill and now I have a solar loan, but thats not the worst of it. After seeing my neighbors post what they paid for solar thats when I realized how bad of a deal I got. For example I got 20 panels for 34k before Delaware and government grants. Making my solar bill $168 a month for 18 years My one neighbor got 29 panels for 17k before grants. Paying $117 a month for 10yrs. Also the incentives that were suppose to come so that we could put towards the loan did not come in on time due to some paperwork not being sent in by American Sentry Solar. with that being said no I would not recommend American Sentry Solar because better more honest options are available just shop around. Not happy with this decision we made.

The team did a fabulous job. Fair price for a great product. They were more timely than initially planned and the work Completed exceeded expectations.

Dean Diedrich and Eric Desell were at our home today installing "squirrel guards" on our solar panels. Really great guys...polite and funny and really hard working. American Sentry Solar has always been tops with their employees.

Great company and great service. We decided to go solar and our sales rep Stan was very professional and knowledgeable and their contractors were efficient, polite and do great work. I highly recommend American sentry solar/ American design and build to anyone looking for home repairs or anyone trying to go solar.

American sentry solar added 7 panels on our south facing garage today. They sent over 4 installers and did an excellent job with the installation. We had 20 panels installed by them last year. Looking forward to using these additional panel to lower are electric bill. I would definitely recommend them to do your solar job.

Not happy at all, My Solar Panels do not generate enough electricity to offset the loss we generate from the loan to finance the panels, and the meter has disconnected from the internet more than once!
The grant that was supposed to be used to reduce the loan payment did not come store the installment payments increased! I am really sorry I went with this Solar Company!

I had my system installed in 2023. If I had it to do all over again, I'd tell them no thank you. I don't see the savings I had hoped I'd see and because I allowed myself to be talked into purchasing, rather than a PPA, I am now 10s of thousands in the hole on a system that has yet to produce even 50% of my energy consumption. It is frustrating and unlike other purchases you are unhappy with, there is no quick and easy way to get from under the debt. Can't sell it and cut your losses. Can't return it, its affixed to your house. Whatever you do.... DON'T buy solar. Lease it, do a PPA but don't buy unless you are buying a very large system that is almost assuredly gonna replace your BGE consumption. My main gripe with American Sentry is the rep did not do a good job of assessing how much of by BGE will be replaced by the system we had installed. Turns out, our system is too small for the size if ny home and our energy use. So, instead if seeing 80+% reduction in my BGE bill, it is significantly less. Not what I was expecting. I have 19 solar panels. For the size of my home, I really needed 40+ to be truly effective. But my roofline wouldn't fit that many. What the rep should have done is have that honest convo. Instead he gladly sold me 19 knowing full well it wasnt enough. If he had told me the system would at best produce 45% of my energy, I'd have told him no thank you. I won't say he was dishonest. I'll say he was less than forthcoming. So, I have a BGE electric bill that is not much better than it was before the system AND the loan payment for the system that was installed. My advice, dont deal directly with solar installation companies (American Sentry or any other). Instead, find yourself a solar broker. Someone who can sit down, size your system, give you a real honest take in what you can expect and help you decide the best direction for your situation. Dealing directly with the solar installers is a fools game.

My panels were removed and reinstalled so that my roof could be replaced. The panel replacement turned out looking better than the original install. There are no wires hanging down under any of the panels. I am very pleased.

I am in the process of the beginning stage of installation. I can say that I like the company because they did not nag or push as a matter of fact they will do all they have promised. I truly believe. My Agent Stanislav and Jeremy those who I had to connect with after the meeting have been great, respectful and knowledgeable. I will do another review once the installation is done. 7/20 we are up and running

American Sentry Solar installed a 9.46Kw solar system on our house. Their sale person, Johnathan, did a professional job explaining the system. Only thing we missed was the critter guards which were easy to add to the contract afterwards. The assessment team came to the house and reviewed the proposed system and answered our questions. The installation team was professional, answered our questions and completed the installation in 2 days. We are extremely pleased with the work that was done and the performance of our solar system.

Starting with signing the contract with Paul Graver, he was professional. We appreciate Paul explaining everything to us in detail and assisting with filling out all the paperwork for grants and incentives. They were quick to answer any of our questions whenever we called. The team did great work.

Felix n dean are both Awesome. They both kind n friendly . They do great work on fixing my Solar panels that the Squirrels destroyed. They also put in a squirrel Guard. N they cleaned up everything n it looks Brand new again Thank you so much for having these 2 come to my house they felt like they were a family.

We've had an excellent experience with American Sentry Solar. Austin was our sales person, and he was very professional and explained everything to us in detail. The team that came in did great work, everything looks good and is working well. They had to do some inside work in order to run the lines to the roof, and came back one week after the original installation to fix the drywall and paint. All looks great.

We were able to get financing with no interest or payments due for 14 months.

This place was disrespectful of our time and decidedly not detail oriented, two traits that made us sure they weren't the solar company for us. We talked to this company in person and scheduled a consultation with them 3 weeks ago and gave them all of the details of our property including the address and showed them pictures of the house and roof. My wife and I rearranged our schedules to find a day where we could both be at the house at the same time to meet them, which is difficult to do. Then they cancelled last minute on the day of the appointment with a message saying that they aren't coming because they don't do houses with flat roofs. We don't even have a flat roof and had they been paying any attention during our initial consult, they would have realized that, but it's great when companies self select themselves out of the running this early on by demonstrating their unprofessional behavior in multiple ways before you give them any of your hard earned money. Stay away from this place.

We just had Matt, Steve, Jeremly and Dillon here to install our solar panels. I was very impressed with their knowledge and level of service!!! Very nice crew! Now onto lower electric bills!!

Avoid this company , is a scam!! terrible experience with the sale person (Stan) . First they insist they want to come to the house because they need to "measure" this is a lie anything can be done via zoom video call. The salesperson was okay until I mentioned that their prices were to high $71K for solar panel, when I already have quote from other solar companies lot lower than them. Instead of been upfront with the cost they have different costs for financing and cash.He went from from $71k(with deposit, starting price), 63.8K financing to $45k cash . $25k difference!! and it was still higher than the top company recommended in MD with the same qualification as them and similar equipment. At soon as I mentioned that I wasn't doing business with them , because it was to price was too high his behavior change. he started mentioning how much money the company was spending by sending him here and he could have go to another 3 other houses. when I responded that he should be telling me those things, because that was a Co. decision not mine because I asked a zoom he continue telling me, how is that I was going call him back for going with the cheaper company , that he knew I didn't have the money to spend again for new solars, he and continue just talking lot of trash, I've to asked him to leave the house, he was unprofessional and pushy to another extend for the sale.

There is a process of a solar panel install which should be understood. The cost, what incentives are available, both federal and state, permits, and installation. American Century representatives, Stan who explained and initiated the contract and availability of incentives and the electrician Jeremy plus the installers. All were professional and courteous. Today was my installation date. The technicians arrived early and were focused on their tasks.

I am thoroughly satisfied with their service, courtesy, respect for property, and professionalism. As a result of my experience, I recommend American Century.

In December I had solar panels installed on my home. The installation team led by Casey Bottiger did an excellent job installing the panels.
The interior electrical work was led by Jeremy Shipley. The work was well done despite my many questions which he answered without hesitation and to my satisfaction.
I would highly recommend considering American Sentry Solar.

I have decided to write another review now that we have had our solar panels for almost a year. We added solar panels to our house because of rising BGE costs. We were told two things that convinced us to do get the panels. First, we were told that if we put all the solar incentives (federal tax credit, Maryland rebate, and SREC funds received) back into the loan, the 25 year loan would be paid off in 8 years. The second thing we were told was that we would only receive a bill from BGE a few times a year (during the colder months) for about $50. Neither of these things are true. One of the men from the office even came to our house to ensure that we didn't have some appliance consuming a lot of energy. He made an adjustment to one of the settings in our hot water heater. They told me that they would give us additional solar panels to offset the costs, which they did after I insisted; he initially wanted us to wait another year. The additional solar panels have made no noticeable difference. What they quoted us was based on usage prior to our solar installation. Last month we paid a BGE bill of almost $200 and today I saw that our next bill is almost $500. They even convinced me to file a complaint with the Public Service Commission against BGE, which of course was denied. Don't believe them when they tell you that you will only have to pay BGE a few times a year or that your loan will be paid off in a shorter amount of time if you put the incentives back into the loan. This is easily the biggest buyer's remorse I have ever felt. Think carefully before adding solar from any company. I received a response from the owner. See below. There is NO WAY that the variables mentioned in the response justify the amount paid versus the amount promised. How do you go get from $50 in the coldest months to nearly $500? Do your homework before installing solar and don't believe ANYTHING you are told. Get it in writing, otherwise it's your word against theirs. I will continue to tell other consumers about my experience to protect them. When I signed no one ever told me I'd have to wait to see the savings; I was told I would see the savings immediately and that the only time I would pay a bill it would be minimal. Apparently writing only counts, but we have power as consumers too!

Our experience with American Sentry Solar was A+++ from the moment we greeted them at the door to the finish. The installation only took around 6 hours. The workers were professional and efficient and both the foreman and electricians explained everything in detail. We're super happy with our solar cells!

This team of gentlemen were very professional. Much better than the original installers. They had extensive knowledge about our system even though they do not install these panels. I am highly recommending this team to my neighbors and friends.

Overall have been pretty pleased with the process about a month in. They get down to business and are very professional and experienced. Only downside is my salesman hasn’t really been in contact since the initial sale so it makes me feel a little uncertain of where I am in the process since there are many steps to getting everything installed and the financing.

Update: With the latest distribution rate increases from PECO on 1/2025, our usage bill would have went up about $20, that's $240 for a full year, with a fully electric home. Instead, our electric bill (solar loan) is locked in at the same rate for the next 24 years. After that our electric will be free! I would NEVER go back to not having solar. I would recommend none other than American Sentry Solar. This was the second solar company we contacted. American Sentry Solar is close to us and they were super helpful on all angles. So far we've been nothing but impressed with our system that they installed for us. We have had the system now for almost an entire year. It has replaced our electric usage entirely and now we have options if the grid continues to faulter by adding batteries. We chose solar more for a fixed budget cost, and eventual energy independence than we did for payback. Grid energy is still cheaper for now (not anymore as of 1/2025, solar is now cheaper). The crews and sales folks were super helpful and understanding. I plan on using them in the future if they keep their good reputation. Thank you American Sentry Solar for an amazing solar system and for bringing the American spirit of democracy to energy!

American Sentry Solar was referred by two neighbors who were happy with their projects. The sales rep and the engineering staff were knowledgeable and helpful. All were responsive and easily accessible. The installation itself was done in less than one day in a professional manner. They took care of all the permits, inspections and rebate applications. They have earned a positive rating.

Today I went solar. I am so excited. American Sentry Solar is highly recommended. They did a great job installing and taking care of everything. There were very neat and professional. Looking forward to saving money!!!!

All guys were very good at work, I appreciate their work. They were perfect and helpful too. They provided me all necessary information I needed.

Good installation (which you should expect), but they were way off with the amount of panels the sales rep said was required. I am coming up on 1 year since installation. The only month I covered my energy consumption was in March. For the year, I have only produced enough energy to cover 3/4 of my consumption. Yes, my monthly bill has decreased, but the payback will now be pushed back to 15-17 years. Either they didn’t know what they were doing or purposefully kept the cost down by reducing panels knowing it wouldn’t cover consumption. Either way, unacceptable.

We just had our solar panel system installed today by American Sentry Solar, and I am thrilled with the results. From start to finish, the experience was smooth and professional, exceeding my expectations. My husband handled all of the back end work, but I was home for installation day.

The guys were punctual, professional, and respectful of my property. They worked efficiently and ensured that everything was installed correctly. Has Am. Sentry Solar remove and replace our original system that we had installed when the house was built. It was a 5Kw system and they installed a 9Kw system using three less panels. The system is working great and will supply all our electrical needs for our 2600 sq. ft. I really enjoy looking at the Enphase app and seeing the Kw's being exported.

The four guys that showed up on July 18, 2024 did an outstanding job. Two men did the electrical work & the other two men installed the eleven solar panels on the roof. All of them were very experienced and explained every step to me in detail. I would recommend this solar company to anyone looking to buy solar panels!

Our solar project was super easy and hassle free! We initiated contact with America Solar at the Wilmington Riverfront Home Show this spring. Their salesman was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions without "embellishment". We have a colonial period farm and we did not want to place solar panels where they would detract from the home's appearance. American Solar was able to hide the solar installation on a barn and connect the house and outbuildings. Installation took about a week due to the need to trench a cable 150 yards. As soon as we were connected, we started generating power. American Solar's staff are very professional, easy to work with and have assisted us with obtaining funding and grants to help with the costs.

The process was great. Everything was explained and clear. Very professional, highly rated company. I thought it was strange that I had to take out a loan to pay for the solar panels since the government was offering a solar for free. After the installation, the power box only linked once to my Wifi. I am supposed to see a live view so I can see if there is any issues with the panels, but I can't use the live function. I have reached out to the company several times over several months about this with no resolution. I also thought that going solar would eliminate my electric bill. It doesn't. The panels don't charge on overcast or cloudy days.
