I'm very happy with the work American Group Construction did replacing an outside door, painting other outside doors, solving an issue with my gutters, and caulking my skylights. Isai Fonseca, President of the company, was personally involved in all aspects of the work and quickly replied to texts as we tried to find a solution for a gutter issue. American Group Construction replaced my roof several years ago, which was a positive experience and led me to request the recent work. I've been very happy with the quality of work and the attentiveness of Isai.

I HIGHLY recommend American Group Construction, with Isai and his crews! We were recommended to Isai and his company from another contractor, and I'm very happy with this project and the results. I'll cover the phases of the process and discuss how we addressed challenges along the way:

For our project, we needed to address leaky doors, high interior moisture penetration, and improper siding and water drainage. We replaced three exterior doors with brand new ProVia entry and slider, removed all existing siding, and replaced with 1/2-inch foam sheathing, tyvek wrap, window aluminum cladding, new shutters, and new vinyl siding:
1) project initiation: Isai met with us several times to go through the project details, options, rationale for choices, and to confirm our materials order. We were very satisfied with the approach to upgrading our 1960's exterior as well as the old and leaky doors. Isai uses high-quality vendors, including ProVia doors (industry best), at prices that we found to be expected and fair.
2) scheduling: initially, we were looking at a project start approx. 8 weeks after materials order. We collaboratively decided to delay our project several times, due to cold and rainy weather. Ultimately, we were very happy that Isai proactively worked with vendors and his teams to move the project dates, and once we started it went as-expected and on-time. One hugely positive note: Isai's team shows up reliably EVERY DAY! 0730 they were ready to go. I applaud this incredible dedication and professionalism.
3) project work: Isai's team did great work, they very quickly removed the old siding, and got the new materials prepped and ready while installing efficiently! We ran into several issues with "field conditions" (existing state of the house), and worked through them while reviewing additional options and insights for how to deal with the problems - things like odd-shaped vents, or insufficient space to place things. One problem cropped up, where although I had warned the team about some fiber-optic cables on the exterior, they unfortunately got damaged. Isai promptly took responsibility, asked me to coordinate with the original vendor for repairs, and told me that he would cover the repair costs - this is true accountability!
4) completion and wrap-up: as the project came to a close, and the finishing touches were being made, we clarified any last-minute items and ensured that the punch-list of small items was followed. Isai ensured that his crew made all the final details correct, and they cleaned up both the project debris and ensured that they removed nails from the ground with a magnet as well as by walking around and manually searching. Upon completion, it all looked new and stately!

Overall, we are super pleased with Isai's team and the final result! When we encountered issues, his team worked to fix them right away, and are so happy that it was collaborative. American Group Construction was recommended as a good roofing contractor. When the president of the company, Isai Fonseca, sat with me and explained the details of his estimate, I felt confident that the work they would perform would be expertly done with quality materials.

Their team arrived early and did a wonderful job. They were professional and very friendly. They replaced some rotten boards under the old roof. They installed new drip edge around the entire roof as well as new flashing around a skylight, plumbing vents and chimney. And they installed a new gutter cover.

Wind knocked off a couple of long siding pieces near the top of my house. Shortly after choosing American Group Construction Mr. Fonseca called to let me know his arrival time. He was on time, very polite and did an excellent job repairing and replacing the downed pieces including another piece that tried to escape while he was there. We live in an older home in Prince William County and one section of our roof is flat. We knew when we bought the home that it would need to be replaced, but didn't know much about flat roofs. My husband and I called 3 local roofers who told us they could replace flat roofs as we always get 3 quotes for our projects. By far, American was the most prompt, courteous, and professional of the 3 companies. When I called, Isai came out the same day to look at our project. We had a professional quote sent to us later that evening. The work was done promptly and professionally. Working with them took a lot of stress off our shoulders. We plan to use them in the future for our gutter replacements as well. Great, family owned company!

Isai, The President of the Company, explained how the roof would be replaced. On the day, Isai, Henry, the foreman, and his crew showed up early and worked until the new roof completed. During the process, photos were taken before and after. There were several bad plywoods needed to replaced (they marked and showed them to me before I agreed replaced them). In the end, both Isai and Henry conducted the final work.
I am very satisfied and will use them for all of my roof works and siding as well.

I’m so happy I asked them if they could install a rain gutter. A new gutter would be required to to catch the rain coming off ruining the roof on to my deck. It was over a bay window. No matter how the down spout was built it was going to look crazy because you don’t want a it over your windows and taking many turns until it reaches the ground. It is 3 stories high. It would look bad and be expensive. I don’t think he wanted to do it. Well, he came up with a genius and cost effective way to guide the rain water to the ground without hitting the deck. He suggested a rain diverter on the roof. It guides the water to two existing rain gutters. Brilliant. I am very pleased with the company’s honesty and integrity. I thought this company was terrific. I found them on Angie. Owner called right away came over the next day and climbed my 3 story roof. Scary. He took pictures and showed me some weak spots, nail pops and vent detachment. Gave me options to repair of replace. I chose replace. We agreed on a price and set a day, weather pending. Within a week they (big crew) were on the job site and the roof was completed in a day. They were really thorough with clean-up. I am very pleased and highly recommend this company and will use them again for other work.

I had a roof leak after a series of storms hit the area. American Group came out, gave a fair and reasonable estimate and completed the project quickly. So far so good!

We used American Group Construction to repair significant roof damage after a tree fell on our roof and to repair the builder’s faulty installation on other parts of our roof. The foreman took pictures of of the roof and explained what they were going to do to our satisfaction. The crew was efficient. They placed tents over our air conditioning unit and our neighbor’s unit to make sure no debris would fall in, and they did an excellent cleanup of all debris and nails. We highly recommend them!

We engaged American Group Construction for a roof replacement based on positive feedback from neighbors. Their team led by Isai Fonseca was highly professional from the outset. Isai was articulate and clearly explained the process and available options. He was transparent and proactively provided details that I would otherwise have missed. I engaged their services based on the feedback, fair pricing, and my sense of their professionalism.

When Isai's crew arrived for work, their expertise was clearly evident. They covered sides of the house with tarps to avoid damage from falling objects like others do. However, Isai went a step further. Knowing there were kids in the house, he also covered the lawn with tarps to catch nails and other sharp debris. He covered the air conditioning units with plywood to prevent small debris from causing damage. Isai's team completed the work before time and did an excellent job in cleaning up after.

However, an incident occurred several months later that showed Isai and American Group Construction are a class apart. During a heavy downpour, I heard a dripping sound from the ceiling. I called American Group Construction to take a look. Despite the very busy time, Isai arrived with a full crew the very next morning. There were no loose shingles or anything obvious. After a thorough inspection lasting over two hours, Isai's team located a small amount of damage to a collar around a vent pipe on the roof. Isai's team replaced the collar and sealed the area.

Since no rain was expected for the next several days, Isai went above and beyond to ensure the job was done perfectly. He went to Home Depot for a 100 foot hose. He went back on the roof and simulated a downpour using the hose around the affected area. He ran the water on the area for half an hour to make sure the leak was sealed. After the extensive efforts his team undertook, they did not even charge me for the comprehensive work performed.

Clearly, American Group Construction stand by the quality of their work like few would. Isai's team far exceeded the high benchmark they had set for themselves with their earlier work at my house.

Isai informed me they also undertake work on bathrooms and interiors. I have considerable remodeling work coming up at my house and with zero hesitation will be engaging their services for all my future needs. Best wishes and many thanks to American Group Construction and Isai in particular!

During our initial inspection Isai inspected not just the exterior of the roof but also the interior via the attic. He did a great job detailing the issues and laying out the rationale for each repair. After entering a contract with American Group Construction they were very efficient and getting the paperwork done and the work scheduled allowing our family to maintain our move in schedule. The project team was able to replace our roof in less than two days and did good job cleaning up any nails in our yard and our neighbors. Would highly recommend.

American Group Construction is a great company.
They applied a temporary patch to stop internal water leakage, then followed with complete roof reparations and repaired some sub structural roof items that had worn away in this old house. Isai started with a complete roof inspection before and after completion of their

I cannot recommend American Group Construction highly enough. Isai, in particular, communicates clearly and responds quickly to inquiries as well as being a truly kind and generous person. The estimates are detailed and there are no hidden costs or surprises. The work crews show up on time, are polite, work hard and are exceptionally good about protecting property and cleaning up. I have had both roofing and gutter work done by them, and the jobs were done right on time and were well executed with competitive pricing.

I liked this company and will use them again for my major construction project again. the re-roofed my home with new shingles and replaced my hardware that needed to be upgraded. They repaired the Plank s.too.

This is the 3rd time I have worked with American Group Construction. Mr. Fonseca is a business owner with a great deal of integrity. He came out twice to both data gather and then explain and present his very fair proposal to replace our roof . He is someone who is trustworthy and dependable , honest and very fair. I can not say enough positive remarks about the roofing team that came out to do the work. Each person worked very diligently throughout the day and a half that they were here to make sure that this installation was successful and professional. The first night they worked even after the sun had set to try and get as much done as possible for us. The gentleman who did the work all shared many years of experience and knowledge and as a result the roof installation was outstanding. After the work was completed , the clean up was immaculate. Throughout the job as well as at the completion of the project I was asked if there was anything else that was needed or that I wanted them to do. I was very impressed , as were my neighbors, as the roofing team worked past sunset to try and complete as much of the job as possible for us. I had American Group come in twice to replace facia boards and gutters and to replace my roof. My experience was very positive in every respect. They were very responsive, very competitive from a price standpoint, and, although I could not get on the roof, every aspect of their work that I could see directly or through pictures they took seemed to be done in a first class fashion. I will call them again if/when I need work on my homes exterior.

Had the company come out last week to give me an estimate on gutters. The price was way more than I intended to spend. Called the contractor back and told him it was to high, and to remove some items and see if we can get the cost down. He also told me about their bulldog gutter covers, but i asked for something less expensive and not to include them in quote. Got the quote, had the bulldog covers in. Have not heard back from them in a week.

Awesome company! I obtained three bids for roofing and siding replacement and chose these guys based on responsiveness, professionalism, and pricing. Pricing was 10% lower than the second quote I received and roughly the same as the third quote. I ultimately chose American Group Construction because they showed up on time or early to every appointment, turned around an estimate quicker than any of the other guys, and communicated clearly and often throughout the process. I also liked that they are a small family-owned business, and both father and son strike me as honest, ethical, and hardworking. Finally, their contract was transparent and they were willing to work with me to include additional contract language for my protection. They completed the job (full roof replacement for three buildings) within one week of executing the contract. I will definitely refer them to friends and colleagues in the future.
