Aluminum Lock Roofing did a fantastic job installing our copper-colored aluminum roof. We debated sticking with less-expensive traditional shingles but are so pleased with our decision to get aluminum. The installation crew was professional and did an excellent job with the roof and the cleanup. We were delighted to see the turtle vents and pipes covered, so the entire roof is copper colored. It looks so good! Highly recommend.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I and it looks like many others have had the worst experience. It took Aluminum Lock 3 months to come out and do the job they quoted me for. I would call and for months they would tell me they were a week to a few days out from coming. Never came. And then they billed me for 50% more than they quoted me for?! They came out and saw the roof, I don't know how you are allowed to be 50% off and that not show gross incompetence. The billing statement listed verbatim the work quoted on the estimate. No excess work or materials were needed. When I called to come to a better conclusion Vardell Taylor was EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude. He told me he makes no money on the job done to my roof, so he wished they had never come out. He wished I had called a different company. Wow. He didn't try to work with me in the slightest. Our roof is over 20 years old and one day we will need a completely new one. We will *not* be going with Aluminum Lock.
And the saddest part is, Vardell Taylor is reading this review right now and he couldn't care less. That just speaks volumes. They do not care about customer service or return business- HUGE RED FLAG. Shows they do not care about their professionalism, making their customers feel valued or their quality of work. And I experienced all of those things. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

My Dad actually had a roof installed in the 80's when I was a kid. Since that initial install, there have been zero issues with the roof.
I don't know how exactly how similar the product we got back then is compared to what's they offer now, but we have no complaints or issues after almost 40 years!!
On our roof, the paint is faded a bit and you can tell it's aluminum if you look, but it's been 40 years with zero maintenance required! Can't beat that

I had aluminum lock install my roof 20 years ago and have had minor issues. Tiles pulling out etc. After this epic winter I had a few tiles pull up from the bottom edge. They came at 8:00 am and pulled up about 8 tiles (seemed random which tiles they tore up) and since they forgot to bring the trim piece, they left. It rained all day long. I finally called at 5:30 pm to complain, left a message and there was as someone at my house within an hour. 6:30 pm. I felt this was negligent. Now they had trapped the moisture under the metal. That can’t be good. They said they would not discount for the error and told me not to complain because then I will be on their black list. If that happens, they won’t come back and no one can supply these tiles or work on them but Aluminum Lock. So much for customer service.

Great folks to work with! Skeptical at first because of the cost but so happy with result. Through the entire process, we were treated with old-school professionalism and class. The installers were also top-notch professionals. They were very quiet and just knocked it out quickly without us hardly even knowing they were there. We get some nasty winds and already, this new roof has been tested by some pretty bad microbursts. It is extremely durable and wind resistant plus we like the look and character of shingles rather than ribbed metal. Yes, the cost is high, but our home's value will increase at least the same amount and likely more over time, not to mention the peace of mind knowing it will be the last time we will ever need a new roof.

After contacting a local company, in the Elko area, which never responded to calls or follow up through texts once contacted. I found Aluminum Lock in the Elko phone book. I called and spoke with Stephanie. Told her what we needed. She immediately did a google earth search on our residence. She then gave me a link to their website on what services they offer. The next day I had a call from the owner, Vardell, he explained in detail on what options we had and cost comparisons on asphalt singles vs aluminum. Later that week we had a brochure and samples of all the colors. Once the weather was cooperative, we setup a installation date. With the exception of a couple days of rain, the installation was done in a few days. We have a large house with attached garage and separate garage. The installers were professional, meticulous and cleaned up daily. Our aluminum shingle roof looks amazing. We’ve already had people drive by inquiring on the roof.

After buying my house in 2021 I discovered a leak in the attic. My house has old metal shingles. I called around and had several roofing companies take a look, but none had experience with the metal shingles I had or how to repair the leak. When I found Aluminum Lock Roofing, Vardell knew exactly what kind of shingles I had (Bauer) and the company that installed them. His product is similar and they were able to replace the leaking section and tie it in with the old shingles. His installation crew was very responsive and seemed to do a great job. It's been about 5 months and the replacement section looks good and the leak is fixed.

I love the aluminum lock roof I have it on two houses and it just is awesome no repairs no replacements no blowing off a shingles in the wind no fire doesn't ruin it it's just the best or if you could possibly put on anything with a roof

We had Aluminum Lock replace our old roof. Their crew did amazing work. They kept the removal of our old roof very clean. Vardell recommended putting new OSB on the 44 year old plywood and it really firmed up the surface. I had doubts about how the copper penny would look, but it is beautiful! We love the way it looks and our neighbors are raving. We're happy we won't have to ever put a new roof on again. They even put a fantastic PVC product on the low slope of our covered patio to keep it dry under there.

My roof is awesome. Jim and team were very nice and helpful throughout the process. I have had multiple comments on how good the roof looks from my neighbors. Crew that installed it were quick and effecient. I kind of wanting to move so I can get another roof from them.

Wind damage was the motivation to complete my Aluminum Lock roof. I installed the rest of my house (it is a reasonable DIY project) but chose to have Aluminum Lock installers complete the job. They actually worked me in a week early. The installers were professional, quick, and did an excellent job cleaning up the job site. Although aluminum shingles are not inexpensive, I do believe they will last the rest of my life. I highly recommend them for new construction and reroofing.

I liked everything about the roof was on . And the people who installed it were great. And fast! The only thing was the bill. I think he explain the bill to us. But I missed that on the quote. The rain gutters all had to come off. I think he told us but me and my wife must of mistaken, that they would do that. They didn't. And because of the wood under the roof had a lot of holes and spaces we needed to put down new 1/2 sheeting and they did. The bill was more than I was expecting. And they are working with me on the extra. And I thank them for that. But the roof is awsome! I think I made a good choice . Having them do it.

These folks replaced my 27- year old asphalt shingle roof with new asphalt shingles. Their price was fair and when they found problems with my sub-roof they fixed them at minimal add price. They were on time and worked quickly and efficiently. My new roof looks great and I have already recommended them to my neighbors.

We've had our roof installed for a few weeks now and it has completely transformed our house. We are extremely satisfied with the work performed. One of our neighbors had asphalt shingles installed while we had our Aluminum roof put on and the crew we had was much more efficient and finished a day and a half faster! This is the BEST ROOF you can buy! It is a lifetime permanent roof. It is fireproof, windproof, energy efficient, lightweight, recyclable & snow slides off in the winter. It is a beautiful looking roof. We got to choose from a variety of colors. I have had this roof on my home for 33 years now. It still looks amazing and I have never had to do a thing to it. The people are truly honest, friendly, helpful and know what they are doing. Thanks ALUMINUM LOCK ROOFING!

This company installed Aluminum Lock Shingles on our 1920's bungalow style home in the early 1990's. It's now been 25+ years. It still looks fantastic. Great company!

I grew up in a home with white Aluminum Lock shingles. Those shingles were done in 1985 and are still in beautiful condition to this day in 2018. My parents have never had to do a single repair. My spouse and I purchased our home with a newer roof but you can bet that when we re-roof, it won't be with asphalt shingles, it will be Aluminum Lock. These roofs are lifetime roofs. They are much better environmentally. They are fireproof, wind resistant, and good for many extreme weather conditions. Also, snow slides off in the winter so you never have to worry about snow pack on the roof. They can really accent the asthetics of your home as well. I loved telling people I lived in "the house with the white roof". They have a good selection of colors to customize your dream roof! It can seem a bit pricey initially, but the peace of mind of truly never having to re-roof is well worth it!

I cannot say enough great things about my Aluminum Lock Roof and the guys that installed it. They did an outstanding job - the price was exactly what they quoted us! Thank you for making this all work for us and making our home look great again.

This company is extremely dishonest. They showed up at a jobsite to perform work that was not authorized. Company employees were on-site for less than 10 minutes and then the company billed ~$200. After speaking with one of the owners (Jim) the owner didn't care that they had erred. Readers should know that not only are their business practices as described above...but the product (an aluminum lock shingle) was damaged after one measly ice storm.

I am so pleased with my roof from this company. I wanted to wait to do this review after a heavy winter of snow and ice, and my roof looks as new as the day they installed it. There is no ice or snow or wind damage. The installers at Aluminum Lock did an outstanding job, cleaned up everything, and made my home look beautiful. Thank you so much - Carol

I bought a house with Aluminum Lock shingles on it because they were considered to be such high quality. Unfortunately, when we had a leak (obviously not supposed to happen) so I called Aluminum Lock Roofing to do the repair. I ended up using Aluminum Lock because their estimate was so competitive with the others I had received. Scheduling was easy, but unfortunately, that was the end of my good experience. The roofer came to fix it, but made me come home from work to show him where the problem was, (he had already come once and seen the issue) and he fixed a few shingles and then left. I waited for some rain and lo and behold, it still leaked, so I called and got back on the waiting list again; a few weeks later he came back. He spent the afternoon on the roof and fixed the roof again - I think it is fixed this time. After he left, I spent about an hour cleaning up cigarette butts, shards of aluminum and nails out of my garden and front yard, and I still find them quite regularly.
Unfortunately when the bill showed up, the cost was twice the price of their estimate with only a line for labor cost and one for the material cost, each of which cost the amount of the total estimate from earlier. I called to discuss where the miscommunication was with someone who I can only assume was the owner of the franchise (same guy who gave the estimate) and he couldn't give me any detail as to what the materials cost, or what they charge for labor hours. I was given a courtesy $100 off and no explanation for why it cost so much more.
There are better options than with a company that doesn't operate this poorly and one who has employees who care.
Go elsewhere and pay what you expect for quality work.

I can't say enough good things about this roof. My parents have had this roof for over 25 years now and have not had to lift a finger to take care of it. It not only looks better and nicer than any of the neighbors roofs but also is maintenance free. They have never had any wind damage and every winter the snow slides off. The initial cost was quite a bit more than the asphalt bids, but now that I have moved out and purchased my own home, I am realizing the value. My wife and I built a new home 3 yrs ago and for cost sake we put on asphalt shingles. What a mistake! After only 3 yrs, the asphalt shingles are already starting to lift off and tear. My wife and I were discussing that we'll probably need a new roof within 2 yrs, and we will definitely be getting an Aluminum Lock Roof. Asphalt shingles these days are not the same as they used to be. The old saying is certainly true here; you get what you pay for!
