Hired Roland and his crew to fix gutters and part of our roof. I've left a more thorough review on BBB detailing this lousy experience.
The gist: $30k down the drain and we continue to find problems with his work to this day. So much for his advertised 5-year warranty! Additionally, he never pulled a permit for the work, which was a condition of our contract.
I'd encourage everyone else who was swindled to lodge a formal complaint against his Home Improvement Contractor license through Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation. Do not approach this contractor at all costs!
Ghosted me at the tail end of a large roofing job, stole several thousand dollars from us in the form of undelivered material, and DIDNT PULL A PERMIT. Of the 90% of work that they did actually complete, the craftsmanship is very poor. We are still having issues with water management and will likely need to have the work redone in the next 5-10 years as it's already falling apart. If anyone is looking for an alternative in the area, look into Eyles. We paid them less for a larger job, they finished the work in less than a week once they started, and we're generally more pleasant and professional to work with.
Absolutely ridiculous experience. Got my roof done in March, paid in full on time out of my own pocket which wasnt easy as a single parent already struggling. It's now leaking AGAIN, started leaking in November, so about 7 months of having a BRAND NEW roof and it won't even make it through the fall nevermind winter. I have been reaching out for over a month, got one reply saying he'd come check it out and never showed up, then stopped answering all together. There is now more leaking and there's nothing I can do about it. Not to mention during the time of replacing the roof we had a huge rain storm, instead of making sure the plywood was covered after tearing the roof off and laying new plywood, he decided to save money and cover it with torn up tarps which also caused the BRAND NEW PLYWOOD to get wet and completely pour through the roof in the process of replacing the roof and he just laid the rubber over it. When I reached out about that nothing was done as well. No reply. ROLAND PAGAN himself and another guy (VERY questionable if that guy was in the right state of mind considering he could barely walk on the ground nevermind a roof) COMPLETELY fell through my roof and damaged my entire living room ceiling and tried having me pay to replace the ceiling as well, as PROFESSIONAL roofers you'd think they'd know how to lay a beam across and watch their step. Needless to say, my brand new roof I just used every cent of my taxes on is no good, my brand new ceiling and insulation is leaking everywhere AGAIN after 7 months of being replaced and he will not even return a call or message to even just take a look at it although the contract gaurnetees 5 year warranty. Don't waste your time or money, completely unprofessional and unreliable it's disgusting how someone could pocket so much money and not care at all about their customers especially considering he WAS a family friend. Hope you get the help you need buddy.
P.s. I highly doubt he actually pulled permits for this job as well.
