Stay Away! I’m trying to save you from a truly awful experience. Took many months to do a week’s worth of work. Never showed up, including when I stayed home from work waiting for them. Quality was terrible, beginner level. Made an absolute mess of my house. Had to pay multiple other companies to come fix their amateur work. Lasting negative impact and I regret using them every day.

Signed into my other Google account so I could specifically write another review of how horrible Alan Soucy Construction is. Do not put your trust in this company, they are shady and they do terrible work. The value of your home is on the line and they will tank it for sure. I’m a woman in my 20’s with no construction experience and I’ve already done better work fixing their mess than their crew. The job I paid them to do over a year ago is still unfinished. They will call you and tell you they’re coming to get the job done and then never show up. Does not matter how many voicemails you leave them. They are a true representation of careless and lazy business.

Bought my house and some work needed to be done, my realtor recommended these guys. Much like everyone else, I should've read the reviews first because holy hell this was a nightmare, here are some talking points:

- Never on time and there were ALOT of no call no shows.
- The timeframe I was given to do the work that needed to be done (some roofing and outlet work) was supposed to be 2 weeks max, let me tell you it was NOT 2 weeks, it was closer to 5 months+.
- You could never reach anyone except for a couple of the workers who I will say are awesome (shout out to Dave), they just work for a terrible person (I'll save my actual comments for the BBB).

Totally disorganized, totally unprofessional, but they have no issue coming to collect payments. Don't waste your time, way better contractors out there that do way better jobs.

Would not recommend him at all. Really wish I had read these reviews before we hired him last year, because every one of the negative ones perfectly describes his work ethic and quality. He and his crew were never on the same page, very poor communication all around, and needed constant probing to come back to work. He completely messed up our deck and ghosted us in the end. He never even returned for the last payment, implying that he knew how badly they screwed up. We are looking into our legal options at this point.

Had some posts on my porch replaced. To say this as nice as I can, the posts are “brand new” and the job looks like it was done in 1932 when the house was built. Paint and caulk job looks like Elmer’s glue and crayon. Asked them to come back and fix it and they came back but certainly didn’t fix it. Said they would come back again, then cashed my last check and haven’t heard from them since. Left a mess in my yard on top of everything.

Very unprofessional many no call no shows used cheap quality materials . Textured ceiling doesn't match and is now flaking off . Drywall was left with large unsanded spots and covered in ceiling texture for me to remove. Owner came back and ensured me it would be corrected 3 weeks later and not a single effort so I gave up . Extremely disappointed spend your money and time elsewhere

I hired Alan Soucy Home Improvement to replace the chimney flasher in my house as well as the adjacent wood sheath and roof shingles. The work was performed but shortly after I noticed new water leaks. Every time it rains there is water infiltration that is damaging the living room ceiling. Upon further inspection, I realized that the wood sheath had not been replaced. I notified the contractor and he scheduled a day and time to perform additional repairs; however, he failed to show up or call to cancel. I reached out a second time only to be given a new date and once again, Alan failed to show up. The communication has stopped and at this point I have no confidence that he is committed to finishing the job.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! They will take your money and not finish the work. A one month bathroom remodel turned into six months and they still aren’t done! They also keep saying they will send people to finish and never do. Not reliable, not professional and they are crooks!

Amazing workmanship - our new roof was done one time - as agreed- excellent communication with the owner- a great team was on site! Highly recommend and very competitive pricing.

We shopped around with seven different roofing contractors- and Al Soucy was so far the best price- the most responsive and he actually cared about our satisfaction. The best in glastonbury by far! A 5 star ⭐️ review. Highly recommend!

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND ALAN SOUCY HOME IMPROVEMENT. After Hiring Alan Soucy to build our front porch back in February of 2020. We agreed to our porch being completed by the end of April. While we were holding up our end of the bargain with payments, he was pulling his workers off of our site to work at other sites and would push our porch project timeline off. April passes... May passes.... JUNE PASSES.... Very little to no contact/returned calls. If he responded, it was either through one of his workers or through text with few words. We have one person drop off material at the end of June and never see any workers again. Now we are currently with an unfinished front porch after paying him all but less than $2000 (last payment). He abandoned the job and left us with more than 12,000 worth of work to be done as quoted by other contractors. We are now pursuing him in court. This is not the first time he has done this to his clients. We are not his first victims. He is continually doing the same thing to many of his clients. There are several complaints to Consumer Protection and the Better Business Beareu. Do not hire this man. He is a crook!

I initially hired Alan Soucy Home Improvement to look for leaks on my roof. My roof had been improperly applied seven years prior, and Soucy found all of the issues and repaired them perfectly, addressing issues with a chimney and documenting the issues that the previous contractor had done on the roof.

I asked him to upgrade a basement room in the home that was, in the winter, uninhabitable. We just had our laundry there. He completely upgraded the room, subcontracting foam insulation that increased its R value and providing a vapor barrier. He fixed issues with framing and installed two large Harvey windows, replacing the old single pane, wooden sash windows that had been there previously. He communicated very well with us about everything. He corrected issues we had with incorrectly-installed wiring, set us up for a gas fireplace and made that room into a very comfortable TV-room and laundry.

I, then, asked him to completely redo a bathroom. We went to Plimpton & Hills at his suggestion and picked out furnishings, which he picked up and installed. Thanks to Soucy, we have a bathroom that is modern, beautiful and a real asset to our home.

We also had him restructure two south rooms on our house. He pulled permits, completely leveled the floor in two rooms and reinsulated so that those rooms are perfect.

As we have a duplex, we had him deal with issues in the tenants' apartment, replacing windows, redoing a bathroom there and replacing the ceiling in that bathroom, as well as a ceiling fan.

To the extent he needs to pull a permit, he gets it done in one day. Inspections are never a worry, he always works to code and does a great job. If something was not done right, he will make sure that anything he does is right.

Additionally, if you have an insurance claim, he will work with your insurance adjustor and, usually, increase the amount of money they pay out so that you are not paying extra, over and above your deductible, for damage done to your home.

His crew always leaves your place spotless, sweeping everything up and leaving no detritus from their work at the end of each day. He is mindful that you do need to live in your home, even if part of it is a construction zone.

I do not hesitate to recommend Alan.

DO NOT HIRE THEM. If I could give it a zero star I would. These guys literally were the worst possible people to deal with. I setup the time for the guy to come out and replace my chimney step and counter flashing. The guy came out they said it was done, I went up on the roof and checked that they only replaced the counter flashing. They lied about replacing the step flashing and I even caught them on the phone in a lie admitting they did not replace it. After they lied to me, they said they would come back out to do the job right, they came out again, and still did not replace the counter flashing. Then after multiple calls from me to the owner of the company (which he never answered and blew me off) eventually someone did come and did not inform me, that the counter flashing was to be replaced. Not only was it a complete nightmare to deal with these guys, they also left residue all over my brand new roof that was just replaced and did not even care to clean it up after they finished their job.

I hired Alan Soucy Home Improvement to install replacement windows in my home after getting a quote from a "big box" store that also offered window installation. His price was far below the big box quote and installation was done very professionally and on schedule. I've seen his top notch work on several other projects and recommend him for any and all home improvement work.
