Best place to rent in st Thomas - great staff and efficient service - was in and out! Got a reliable car for rent and enjoyed their airport shuttle. Will use every time I visit!

Renting from Alamo here in Virgin Islands was very amazing. From the shuttle driver to the rental car place and back. Elizabeth in the office was extremely helpful and nice. She offered us Waters while checking in and was so sweet! We ended up upgrading our vehicle to a jeep which I am glad we did with the hills!! We had to extend an extra day and that was also a simple process calling them! Definitely recommend renting from Alamo here on the island if you need a car!! Thank you!

Our experience was extremely pleasant. We were promptly picked up from Cyril E King Intl Airport and shuttled to Alamo where we were able to pick up our vehicle with ease. The drivers loaded and unloaded our luggage and then loaded it in the car as well. Top notch service! Very nice people who gave us some trip tips and asked about our stay on the island.

Key fob stopped working on the last day of our trip. Never wet or in the sand. Charges me &495 for the fob. Basically had no choice because we couldn’t leave until that was resolved and may likely miss my flight leaving St. Thomas. was basically held hostage until we paid the $495 and sign the receipt.

The lady at the counter was rude an I feel racist.. she was super unhelpful.. wanted to charge me for EVERYTHING and it’s been 14 days and still haven’t received my deposit back! Go there and they made me feel uncomfortable to the point I started recording EVERYTHING!! Will never book with this company again!!

The people were great car was clean. The only reason I don’t give it. A five star is the price that I originally got online was not valid and I had to pay a higher price.

The service at Alamo is second to none. The “Teamwork” is phenomenal and much Appreciated!! I had the opportunity to be served by Shuttle bus driver Clarke ( Clarke was our connection from the airport to Alamo. He was very personable and friendly in just the short ride), then I had the utmost pleasure to be served by Enrique! WoW! He took customer service to another level. Aside from him being courteous and attentive, he was also friendly. He answered all questions, and he was beyond professional and knowledgeable in every response he provided. Other members of the team who provided seamless and impeccable service were Juevelyn, Paul, and Jeff!! Thank you Alamo!!

Alamo folks were very pleasant to work with. The Nissan Rogue we used was a good car, spacious and comfortable. Handled the roads in St Thomas with no problems. We will use them again.

The car rental was great, but the 1800 number we called for 29 minutes would keep disconnecting us telling us the service was closed. Even though it told us it was a 24 hour service. The car would not unlock and finally the passenger door unlocked so we were able to get into the car. Everything else was wonderful except that moment.

Excellent customer service from start to finish. I had to extend my stay on three different occasions and they always took care of me. Will be my go to any time I'm on island

From the interaction on the phone when confirming, the front desk ladies, inspection of the car to the driver of the shuttle….all was a delight!

Great experience with Alamo Rent a Car in St. Thomas, USVI! From the moment we arrived, the team gave us a warm welcome and helpful guidance to get us on the road quickly. The car was clean, well-maintained, and surprisingly strong, perfect for the island terrain. Returning the vehicle was just as smooth, easy, friendly, and fast. Highly recommend them for a hassle free rental experience on the island! Save your energy to keep left when driving through the mountains.

The process was extremely easy. They have a nice shuttle to take you to the rental lot and back to the airport once you are done. Paul and Jaheim were extremely helpful and got us to the airport in no time after drop off! Highly recommend!

Staff is super friendly and professional. I would only rent from here if you don't have insurance or want to use their policy instead of whatever policy you may have. I had an issue with my rental that ended up resolving in an okay manner but I would stay clear unless you can't.

Great business, honest people. Don’t be like the guy I heard complaining about a $1200 dent he put in a car. Get the insurance, it’s worth it.

Great experience from the shuttle pickup to the airport drop off. The lady at reception explained the fees. Paul was helpful in noting previous damages and asked for my confirmation when picking up the car. Upon returning the car, Paul & Jeff explained next steps clearly and were always friendly.

Staff is notably kind and professional, it's a great first impression of the islands! You need to take the shuttle outside arrivals. They will ask if i want to upgrade from compact to better navigate the potholes, go for it. It's not so much the potholes, but the hills.

I highly recommend renting a car if you're visiting USVI. It's a great experience to drive on the other side and it gives you so much freedom to move around St. Thomas and St. John. Taxis are cash only, expensive and there do not seem to be a lot of drivers around, especially early in the morning. Essentially it's a radio system, you call a number and who ever is near and available will claim you. You can hear everyone. Alamo staff are fantastic, i highly recommended them!

Came here after waiting for 2 hrs for our Budget rental that was reserved but Budget “ran out of cars”. Was significantly more expensive to rent a car last minute at Alamo but grateful we got a 2025 model and great customer service from Alamo

Friendly staff, helped me with my Jeep rental so I could show my 8-year-olds around the islands. Polite and quick too! Definitely recommend them. Quick shuttle from the airport, easy trip!

The lady that checked me in was pleasant and informative. After retiring as a bank executive in the Virgin Islands, I was taken aback at how professional the representative was. The shuttle drivers were extremely accommodating and Jeff checked us out and got us on the shuttle on time. EVERYONE had smiles on their faces….very unique when conducting business in St. thomas. The entire team was 5 star!

Very upset at the fact that i book my rental car from last December 2024 for this April 2025 and wasn’t notified that the policy has changed in the deposit. I arrived to St. Thomas yesterday to pick up my rental car for today and they informed me that the deposit has changed from what i was originally told back in December to approximately $1000. The customer service representative said that the policy changed in January. How can you changed a policy like that and not inform your customers who have booked in advance before the changed. So now im without a vehicle because it’s absurd to have $1000 on hold that i didn’t expect to be hold while im on vacation. Some type of accommodations should have taken place since i did book before you guys changed your policy!!!!!!!!

We had a 3 hour delay on our flight, and by the time we arrived all the car rental booths inside the airport had closed for the night. Alamo though is not in the airport, and there was a shuttle that brought us right to the car we booked. They were so very nice and had excellent service, even lending us an umbrella while it poured outside.

We were so grateful that they stayed open, especially we knew other passengers couldn't get their car rentals from budget. The AWD car we got was in great condition and we had no issues whatsoever from the week we used it.

We had such a wonderful experience with this Alamo. The customer service was above and beyond! From the moment we were introduced to the staff every one was so kind, so helpfull. We met probably 5 of the staff between the airport and the office. The front desk girls were delightful and kind.... one of them offered us a cold water and the other restaurant recommendations for the Greenhouse Resturant. We were glad we listened to her and ate there.... the food and drinks were stellar and so was our waitress. They recommended a mid size vehicle for traveling the island which we were eternally grateful for be cause we were able to get all around the island with no issues at all. When we returned our rental the staff on site went wayyyy above and beyond again to make sure we made it back home to our rental. We had such a wonderful time thanks to this Alamo and their staff. 10 stars from us!!

When returning the car, the staff was very friendly, cheerful, courteous, professional, and they made me feel very at ease.

We arrived at airport and were in shuttle to car rental approximately 10 minutes after getting luggage. The SUV exceeded our expectations! Pick up and drop off were flawless. Will definitely recommend to friend and use again. Thank you!

First, the positive. The folks that work at Alamo on St Thomas were great!! But the negative unfortunately outweighed the positive. The car was an absolute disaster. We dealt with a flat tire literally the entire trip. The cars electronics worked when it felt like working. The headlights on the car malfunctioned. As we were stopped at stop lights, the car rattled so much that I thought something was literally going to rattle loose and fall on the street. Really disappointed that we spent over $2000 to rent a car that needed to be taken to the junk yard.

Rented an economy car and was assured it had Apple car play. Verified at the counter Apple was in the vehicle. Vehicle does not support , therefore GPS doesn't work. Spoke with Shawn who was interested in standing behind his promise, but wanted to make money on upgrade. Also, Alamos is not located at airport. Long wait for shuttle!

Excellent experience with Alamo in St Thomas - The van with the friendly driver was right outside to take us the short drive to our rental car. When we arrived, we were assisted by Danae. She was so friendly and helpful. We were on the road in no time, in a shiny, clean new Nissan Rogue. A couple of weeks later, when we returned it, we were immediately greeted by Jeff. He checked the car in with no hassle and the van was right there to take us to the airport. I highly recommend Alamo in St Thomas. Definitely a 5 star experience!

BEWARE! I reserved a Jeep online many months in advance for a week long stay. I signed the agreement in person at the reserved rate and took the ferry to St. John for my vacation. That evening the company called telling me there was a "glitch" in the system and the rate they gave me was incorrect and I would need to pay a new rate that was over 85$/day more than what I had signed off on. They said I needed to either RETURN THE CAR OR PAY THE NEW RATE even though I had a SIGNED AGREEMENT. After talking with the manager and Alamo customer service and getting no sympathy from them even though this was not in any way my fault I felt like my hands were tied. They canceled my original reservation and I had already taken the ferry to St. John and didn't want to waist an entire vacation day and a car ferry ride returning the car. I was very upset and couldn't believe they wouldn't honor the original signed agreement. It was a horrible experience. PLEASE BE CAREFUL USING THIS COMPANY.

It was a great experience. Everything from the shuttle drivers to the customer service agents at pick up and drop off. They all went above and beyond to make this a very pleasurable experience.

Overall terrible experience with Alamo. “Upgraded” to an SUV for an additional charge and they pull around the biggest piece of garbage on the island of St. Thomas. They have a whole parking lot full of beautiful SUV’s and they give me the biggest junker/lemon Kia I’ve ever seen. Scratches and key marks everywhere, part of the rear bumper completely pushed in. When I expressed my displeasure they made no effort to get me into something else, just assured me it was an upgrade. Never about the customer’s satisfaction with Alamo.

Great customer service. The car was brand new and in fantastic shape. Easy check in and check out process. Will definitely use them again.

Awful- stay away from this location. As soon as we pulled in they made beeline for the front bumper where there was a scratch (they knew it was already there) made us get a police report, the officer said that they know something is up and they are scamming people. The officer said they send about 15 people a day for minor scratches. They charged us $500. And almost made us miss our flight. The shuttle driver was embarrassed and told us what they are doing isn't right and something needed to be done. We will be taking this up the chain.

In and out, they were the only one day rental we could find, provided us with a huge brand new Ford Bronco with the open roof, had it ready, accepted it back quickly, drove us back to the airport so we could find a quick cab ride, and they were just down right nice about everything! Thank you for an incredible one day experience! Would do it again!

The Alamo group at St. Thomas made car rental pretty easy. They had frequent shuttle service to the office, efficient and friendly staff, no high-pressure sales pitches, and reasonable prices.

Enrique checked us in and Jeff checked us out. Both very friendly and efficient!
Also, when we checked in, there was a horrible woman swearing at the whole staff because she left the car wreaking of marijuana. They were amazingly calm and cool. Very professional!

There will be a man just outside the airport exit with a Alamo sign to direct you where the shuttle that takes you to the rental center is parked. The shuttles are very nice. Once at the rental center, 3 minutes away, the process was super professional and easy. Returning was the same. I got a 2024 Nissan Kick, and it was great. I've rented a lot of cars and this was one of the best experiences I've had at Alamo St. Thomas.

Cars are plenty and no so expensive. The staff was awesome. The gas is much higher than expected but worth it

My husband and I rented a Mitsubishi Outlander for our week in St. Thomas and it was perfect for all the hilly roads. Our shuttle drivers were so friendly and made us feel right at home. The woman working in the office was such a sweetheart, gave us great recommendations and even wished us safe travels on the way home. We highly recommend renting here, their service is impeccable.

they were able to accommodate us last minute. very kind staff with lots of information. new cars with apple car play for maps. very easy pick and drop off and free shuttle service. highly recommend!
