I looked at different companies. Affordable quote was pretty much the same as the competition. But the quotation process was so much more straight forward and simple. The work done was exactly as quoted. Some small surprises did not require "out of scope adjustments". The crew was really pleasant. There was one touch up to be done after they were done. Less than an hour after I called 2 guys showed up and did it. Perfect!

Affordable Roofing repaired our leaking roof quickly at a reasonable price. Previously they had replaced a roof on another house 12 years ago which is still in good shape.

Affordable Quality Roofing re roofed my house some 12 years ago. about 5 years ago, we had a leak and I called them. Terry came out to my house himself along with one of his workers and had the problem solved by the end of day. We had a severe wind/atmospheric river this year (2024). My basement was flooding as well as a serious leak near the chimney. Once again Terry and 2 of his workers showed up at my house in the middle of the storm and fixed it within the hour. Terry did not charge me for either visit (12 years later!). He saved us from massive damage. He and affordable stood by their roof and have provided on hands support for us for more than a decade. After reviewing several roofing companies, we selected Affordable Quality Roofing to redo our older roof that consisted of Asphalt shingles. Terry and his team were great to work with. The original estimate was competitive and fair and the final pricing came with no surprises. The team cleaned up each day after their work. We also had them do some of our siding. The roof was completed a few weeks before our recent Atmospheric River event and held up great. I am happy to recommend Terry and the Affordable Quality Roofing team to others.

We had our torch-on membrane done originally by Walter & crew and now that "much" time has passed, we decided it was probably time to replace it. We did not hesitate to call this roofing company to do the job. Terry has taken over from Walter and the quality & service remain optimal. The project was done last summer, and now that we've gone through winter / rainy season, we can confirm that we have not discovered ANY issues! Great work, in a timely manner, and site clean up done immediately following completion. Thank you to the entire team!

I have been searching for affordable roofing companies to fix the leak in my roof, but they were all super expensive. I found Affordable Roofing off of google and decided to give them a shot. They fixed the leak in my roof within an hour. They said it was just a minor leak while other companies tried to tell me that it would take up to 3 weeks and the leak had spread throughout my home. Affordable quality roofing replaced our cedar roof, gutters, downspouts 8 years ago. They were professional, easy to do business with and installed a quality product with a beautiful end result. This past years snow and ice created a water ingress issue, they returned to repair the hidden gutter working with us to get it done on a dry day.

WARNING: DO NOT USE AFFORDABLE ROOFING
When we hired Affordable Roofing to replace our roof, they were not the cheapest quote but they seemed professional. They promised a 10 year guarantee and said if there was any problems they would fix it. They did a shoddy job and do not live up to their promise. We have had leaks, you call them several times and they promise they will come and fix and they never show up. As a Business Owner I like to support other local owned businesses, however NOT Affordable Roofing!

Use with caution! Their original work was actually fine and they completed it quickly but if there are any issues, good luck! Their warranty, despite what they may tell you verbally and written on their contract, is worth less than the paper it's written on. Chased them for months to come back and fix a problem area that was leaking. They had repaired our roof 3 years prior (had a 10 year warranty on the job). They wouldn't return phone calls, texts or emails. They would cancel appointments in the last minute. Finally after speaking to them and some back and forth they said they wouldn't honour the warranty and we would need to pay them again. They told us the "10 Year warranty" was only standard verbiage on their invoices. Even though we had texts confirming the 10 year warranty as well. We found having to pay again to be unfair but no other roofing company wants to deal with someone else's repair. We just wanted to get the job done and agreed to pay them again. The owner, Terry came to our home after chasing them for 2 months and strung us along some more telling us how he's doing us a favour and he's going to fix it soon but needs to find a date. It's now been 4 months since we first called them to come and fix the roof. They have wasted so much of our time and energy. I wish they would have just told us from the start that they had zero intentions of fixing our roof and we would have made other arrangements before the winter season. I would never use them again, they have zero integrity and their word and written contracts are worthless.

I contacted several roofing companies and since the moment Phil came to inspect the work to be done and provide a quote, they inspired confidence in their competence as a company, I was very impressed with the team that came to execute the work, they demonstrated their skill and were very diligent during the execution and not rushing my work to get to the next job.

Extremely professional crew, very attentive and punctual. They made sure everything was done right and when they left, removed all the debris so the place was clean like if they were never here.

Do not waste your money with Affordable Quality Roofing in North Vancouver. I hired them to fix a leak on my roof. Paid them promptly and in the first rain after the repair the roof still leaked. Same spot. They didn't do the job right. I tried multiple times over the course of a few months to get them to come back and fix it. I was shuffled around, no one ever called me back, emailed me back. Farrah and Phil just ignored my requests to have it fixed properly.

Took my money and never did the job correctly.

I finally had to hire another roofing company who came out and fixed it properly. They cringed at the job completed by Affordable and showed me all the things their roofer hadn't completed.

I hate leaving small businesses a bad review but this company deserves it.

I have had AFQR do work on many of my sites that I was a superintendent on in the past, and they pulled through under some extreme circumstances. Though the jobs were different than a residential application, it was still great that they were able to have a crew work almost 24 hours straight a couple of times for a discerning major developer. Recently on one of my own renovations, I discovered that an existing roof (that was to remain), had a couple of issues. I called AFQR, and the first clear day a crew showed up and began a replacement job. It was very fast turn around, and allowed for insulation and drywall to continue.

We have been using Affordable Roofing for our projects since 2019. To date they have successfully completed 10 projects for our company ranging from asphalt shingles to metal roof. Their service has been outstanding and competitively priced, we have never missed a deadline or gone over budget.

One of our friends referred us to Terry at affordable quality roofing and it was a pleasant experience the crew were nice I only gave them a small deposit did not even ask anything until the job was complete and we were satisfied I would recommend them to any of my friends good company

I paid a deposit in August. They still haven't done my job. They won't answer or return my calls. When I canceled and asked for a refund, I was told "you canceled, now you chase for your refund." Highly unprofessional. Very disappointed.

Besides Terry the owner being a competitor of ours he was a friend for over 14 years and a good person. He runs a good honest business and I would recommend customers to use Affordable if they are looking for a roof installation on The North Shore.

There were several problems with the work done. AFQR demanded (but didn’t get) immediate payment in full. After 3 months of arguing back and forth they finally fixed the deficiencies and we paid them. Do not pay this company until the work is properly completed - we had a hard time getting them to fix the problems even though we were withholding payment. A lot of hassle for what should have been a straightforward job.

I would give them two stars if they completed the job; I’m still waiting (2 months now) for my flashing to be painted and for the garbage to be removed after I bagged up what was left all over my property - a couple hundred pounds worth of scrap shingles.
Phil seems great at what he does, at first. I gave my deposit in January. Only contact we had for the next two months was me reaching out to see when the work would be done.
Eventually work began on the roof and half the garbage was thrown to my tenants side of the house, the exact opposite of my request and agreement with the workers on site when they began.
I met Phil for final payment when the job was “done”, but we found the shingles weren’t all on, the flashing wasn’t painted, and there was garbage everywhere. He said not to pay him yet. I met him again for the final payment after the missing shingles were installed. He said due to the rain he would have to have a guy come out when it got nicer and do the painting. I gave him the cheque that day in good faith and the only text I have even got back from him since then is “who is this?” Nothing further.

Affordable Quality Roofing is a great company, we had a new roof installed last month on our Triplex on Jones Ave. in North Vancouver. Terry was easy to work with and very knowledgeable. The crew that installed the roof were excellent.

After much research to find a trustworthy roofing company in the Vancouver area to put a brand new roof on my pride and joy, I found Affordable Quality Roofing after watching an episode of "Love it or list it Vancouver". I spoke with their very knowledgable and friendly owner Terry, discussed options and the range of quality roofing materials they use and got an estimate that literally put a smile on my face! Affordable and Quality... just like their name says. I wanted my roof done right, since its the most important part of any home... and these guys are top notch! Installation is completed on time and budget, very professional crew! Which is why I felt obligated to share my experience with others and write this review. It gives my family great piece of mind to know our home now protected from the elements and looks amazing! Made a few of my neighbours jealous too... one just down the street is having Affordable Quality Roofing do his roof now!! Awesome :)

This company was referred to me by a co-worker who had used them for his own house. However, at that time it was owned by a different person. Terry is the owner now and completely lacks customer service. Approx. 1.5 yrs ago I had a new roof done on my house and garage. Included in the contract was for Affordable Quality Roofing to clean, prepare, and re-seal all corners of our gutters. I received 4 estimates in total and 3 companies of the 4 all said my gutters were in very good condition and did not need to be replaced (this included Affordable Quality Roofing).

After receiving the referral from my co-worker who gave this company such great reviews, I referred two neighbors who also used this company. One neighbor completely redid his home and garage roof as I did. The other neighbor just had a new overhang done at their front door. Neither of these neighbors had any issues.

1.5 years later and the corners of my gutters are still not re-sealed. I contacted Terry. He recently emailed me to say someone came by to make a final "attempt" to reseal the gutters (there was never an attempt made in the first place). I got up on a ladder 3 days later to check on 4 corners. All 4 corners had moss and water in them. Nobody came by my house to reseal and nobody made any attempt. I sent an email with photos attached of every corner and I have not had a response. After spending thousands of dollars with this company and referring neighbors who also spent thousands of dollars, 1.5 yrs later and the work on my house is still not done and the owner is not responding to my concerns.
They did a good job on my roof but have not followed through with the contract or their promise to reseal my gutters.

Affordable roofing has no communication with customers, poor supervision, they don't check the completed job and are slow at resolving problems.

They installed gutters on my house without prior notice of the day they were coming. I had painters working on the facia board which was obviously not completed, since it was being painted a different colour, but they put the gutters up regardless.

The supervisor, who had never been to the site apologised for being "too good". It took them several week to take the sections down to allow the painting to be completed, and several calls and a couple months to return and finish the job.

Apparently the supervisors main job is to harass for payment. I was out of town when they finished. What he did was to repeatedly call my wife pressuring for payment as soon as they were done. No hurry to finish but there was a hurry to get paid even though we didn't get a final invoice.
