Accurate Home Inspections

Doug came out and did an inspection for a property of mine on short notice and spent 3 hours going over every last detail of the brand new built home. He found a couple issues that were critical and needed to be addressed. He sent over the mitigation report the next morning for our insurance quotes to be done quickly and followed up with the whole report the following day. The bottom line is, if you want someone experienced that will give you every last detail of defects on your home purchase, he’s your guy! I will definitely recommend him to my clients!

I had a 7 day period for inspection before closing on a waterfront property. Mr Douglas was able to accommodate me in his very busy schedule and provided me with the most thorough and to the point inspection report I have experienced . Not only he provided me with finding he also did a complete back check up on the property repairs , remodeling permits and safety concerns for the present and the near future. Doug did an outstanding job in providing an independent inspection of a property for me. As a practicing Professional Engineer, I knew issues with the property well and Doug was able to independently identify those and others without prompting or clues. He is thorough and efficient. I would highly recommend this company!!! Doug was incredibly thorough and responsive. I have had many home inspections done but none with this much attention to detail. The report was sent very quickly and I actually missed the email with the report so Doug called me to ask if I had reviewed the report and if I had any questions. Be prepared for a very comprehensive report. Doug has a no nonsense approach that methodically goes over all the systems of a home. My report was 91 pages that included a hyperlinked index page for ease of reference. I had planned to do this myself, but to my surprise, it was already done.

If you "REALLY" want to know what is wrong with a potential home purchase... the cost of a good inspection is invaluable. The Accurate Home Inspections report was not kind to my home... there were many items that were in very bad shape. Some I was aware of and others were hidden. If you must know the truth, not a quick pencil whip report to get insurance coverage... Doug is your man. Just remember, to know what is wrong about the house is one thing, to be duped is another.

Bring coffee when reviewing the report... it's massive.

We are under contract for a new construction home. I wasn’t convinced we even really needed an inspection; however, I am incredibly glad we did and that we used Doug from Accurate Home Inspections. He was very thorough and detailed and identified several code violations. He was also very helpful prior to and following the inspection. We used Accurate Home Inspections of the FL Keys for a home purchase inspection in Cudjoe Key. Mr. Mudge had inspected the home before, and knew the details to look out for. He was very thorough - and shared all the information with us personally while we were at the house. Although we knew we were purchasing an older home that needed work, he was was able to identify areas we would not have known about in a For Sale by Owner "as is" cash purchase, which helped us work with the seller to complete additional fixes prior to the closing on the purchase. I found Doug after not wanting to rely on a local real estate agent to provide a recommendation on an inspector who would just rubber stamp the process to get the sale closed. Unfortunately, too many home inspectors in the FL Keys are aligned with the realtors and don't put the buyers' interests as the first priority.

This the second time I have used Accurate Home Inspections to inspect a home I was purchasing in the Florida Keys. This is so important to get a good understanding of such a large purchase. I wouldn't want to use anyone else! Both times in going over the inspection Doug is exceptional. Helping me to understand the true state of the house I was buying. His depth of knowledge is fantastic and gave me much confidence about each house I was buying! Of all the services I have used hired in the keys, Doug ranks the highest in my satisfaction with his work!

Doug completed a pre-purchase home inspection and a wind mitigation verification report for us. He was very responsive, very thorough and completed the reports quickly with a follow-up call. Doug inspected the property without me present. The owner said that he was professional and very friendly. After the inspection he wrote up the findings and provided with a very detailed report in PDF format. After I went through the report he was kind enough to spend 30 minutes on the phone with me walking through any questions I had. The money spent on the inspection was well worth the price. He was able to add detail to the issues I knew about and found a few that I had not seen. In the end the level of detail that Doug provided gave me great confidence that I had a full picture of the condition of the property. One other thing, when you speak with him on the phone, unlike others I spoke to who just want to schedule you, Doug spends plenty of phone time to go over the home both pre and post inspection.

After extensive research. I Paid $300.00 more than I should have. I followed up to get a wind mitigation and 4 point inspection for my insurance and Doug wanted an additional $200.00 to transpose information into these insurance forms.
This would take no longer than a half hour to do this task.
Doug will show up and do a good inspection, but be prepared with your wallet open!

If it were possible to give Doug Mudge and Accurate Home Inspections 6 stars instead of 5, I would. It's rare to run across someone in this day and age with his level of ethics and dedication. He worked VERY hard on a hot, sunny day, did an extraordinarily thorough inspection, and then spent time I'm sure he didn't have to answer my questions and concerns.
