I am a retired homebuilder from Florida, living in Colorado. My early contact with Kenny Shea and Accent Home Improvements enabled me to gift the complete removal of siding and trim and replacement with J.M. Hardie lap siding and Hardi trim, painting and roof gutters. We negotiated the scope of work which included the ability for me to be present during the scope. The pricing was "fair", related to Accent's competition. What sold Accent to me was that both Kenny and I have been carpenters most of our lives. We formed a bond that continues to this day.

Communication these days is not foremost on subcontractors strong points. This was not the case with Shea and Accent. Shea and I met every morning to discuss the work done and the work to be done, as well as any problems that may have been discovered. He was quick to call me when an "issue" was detected.

The 3 carpenters who performed the work were incredibly polite, diligent and hard working, from the time that they arrived in the morning until they had cleaned up the job site and left. Their work standard was 2 - men, each on a ladder and 1 "cut man". They were efficient and rarely was a board handed back to be recut because it didn't fit!

A major issue arose at the beginning when it was discovered that there was NO sheathing installed on the studs beneath the siding when the house was built in the '40's. Shea and I met, discussed our options and the cost of the change. Shea, again, was fair and prompt with his pricing.

Throughout the 3 weeks that I spent watching the work being executed, I felt like I was in good hands and that the value added by the complete siding installation and the painting which followed would appreciate the value of the house to a greater extent than the cost of the remodel itself.

I was unable to be present when the house was painted and the new gutters were installed. The photographs that I have received from Accent show an amazing New Orleans house!
