A1 Upholstery Design

Been about 10 months to give it time and here’s my review: I took two seats in from a vintage/41 year old Ford truck all original, and all they had to do was replace the vinyl sides. They were supposed to also add more foam or whatever over the hinges inside the seat.
Results: Nice people for sure, but quality was pretty poor. First big thing was that they all smoke cigarettes and when they are restoring your seats they bring them into the shop and smoke all over them and when you get em back they smell like an ashtray. Yes, I spent over $100 on chemicals to rid the seats of smoke. I’ve used baking soda and chemical machines like used car lots do to no avail. I did talk to the owner and his response seemed sincere but no financial compensation was offered for the seats ($1100) or the materials to try and clean it ($150).
Long story short, if you don’t mind your original vintage seats smelling like an ashtray go use these guys, but if your a non smoker you’d be best to not take your upholstery to these people.

Brought my husband’s 2012
Honda Civic to these folks to repair the leather on the driver’s seat. Service has been top shelf from the start. Lots of face time to discuss options, great communication, expert workmanship. Even completed early! Recommended without hesitation.

We brought them our 2017 F-150 to repair the driver’s seat padding that had broken down with age & weight. The leather was in great condition. $500 for the repair. When we picked up the truck there was a torn hole the size of a silver dollar in the leather where the seat meets the seat back. They said they could repair it for an additional $350. When I protested, they said they would not charge us, but we would have to buy the replacement seat leather, but could not guarantee that it would match. We were able to find a company that could do the OEM seat leather. They were not able to find them.
After much research and consideration we went to Larry’s Trim in Jacksonville. They guided us on the ordering of the correct leather and today installed it. $350. They did excellent work. The tech showed me what they did to repair the original issue was just put cotton ball type stuffing in the seat, and didn’t properly reinstall the seat.
Will not return, nor recommend A1.

We called A1 Upholstery to recover our modern chairs. From our first contact with Linda to the completion of the work we were definitely impressed. Linda was always kind and considerate. David and his guys got the job done quickly and on time. We highly recommend these kind and hard working people!

I will be using his shop in the future and would recommend him to anyone who needs upholstery work in an RV.

I had several tears in the upholstery on my couch. David came to our house and in less than an hour the tears were repaired and the couch looks great. Pleasant to deal with, came on a timely basis and the job was done very well.

They did a great job replacing our headliner in a not so friendly vehicle. They were upfront about the price and timeframe for the work with no hidden fees or anything else. I would use them again and recommend friends.

Expertly reupholstered two large expensive dining chairs. Absolutely perfectly done in a great time frame. Look as good as new if not better. We recommend them to everyone and will use them again!!! Linda and the other staff were so easy to work with.

We stopped in to see if they could repair a leather sofa pillow for us and were very pleasantly surprised that they could. We were astounded that David was able to repair it while we waited for about 15 minutes.

They just replaced the foam in the cushions from my screen porch patio set. The original foam had become ultra soft, but the fabric and two chairs and loveseat structure still look to be in great shape. I ordered foam and we decided on going from a 4" foam with a 1" wrap all around to a 6" foam in a top grade. This was a mistake since they went from too soft to very hard. When I went back to see what we could do about it they immediately suggested a solution using some foam that someone else had decided was too soft for their application. I picked them up yesterday and they now feel like they did whan I purchased the set years ago. They did not charge for changing it out or the new foam. Thanks for a great job and now I plan to get them to replace the foam in the seats for my 95 S10 4WD blazer replaced.

The group at A1 did an amazing job on my headliner. I went from a tan fabric to a black, more durable material with vinyl pillars and they made it look like it came from the factory. Can't say enough great things about this place. Highly recommend!

We were not as pleased as we thought we would be. We were promised the job in 2 days, instead it was 5 days. When we called on the 5th day, the owner said to give him 3 hours, we gave him 5. When we arrived, it still wasn't ready. The stitch work is not up to my standards, but nobody else will ever notice.

David re-upholstered the cushions, back rests, and a seat for my boat to match some new seats I had purchased. They look incredible and match the new ones. I brought my motorcycle seat to David to reupholster. It was the original seat off my 1993 FLHS (which was getting a major facelift) the seat also had a modified passenger seat pad off a late 90’s Harley. The original seat was pretty worn out. I wanted to get it done over to have it look new to match facelift the bike was getting. After talking to David and listening to his ideas, seeing examples of his work, I decide to use David’s idea’s and picked out a good grade black covering which David did in dark gray stitch which went great with the bikes new paint job. When he was done I couldn’t of been happier. When I picked up the seat I could not believe how nice it looked and when I put it on the bike and that was it – to complete the look!. What a amazing job he did! It changed the whole appearance of my bike. So if your looking for top notch results at a fair price don’t go anywhere else. This is the guy you want.

I had a custom motorcycle seat made for my 1991 Harley Fatboy at this shop six months ago and it has aged well and held up to the elements and all the abuse I have put it through. Excellent quality leather and the stitching was perfect! I always get compliments on the seat and love to share the info about this shop. I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for any kind of upholstery work!

We have a fantastic experience using A1 Upholstery. Dave did a phenomenal job! We brought him our vehicle to restore the seats, roof lining, doors, all carpeting, and to add carpeting to the back. He was also able to do additional work that we needed done! This is a wonderful family business. The stitching was amazing on the seats. We are thrilled with the work that was done!
