My only issue with A1 was that they left some stuff - gravel, chunks of concrete, and even some trash - in the beds around the driveway and covered it all up with mulch. I had to spend some time removing the debris from the mulch.

A1 Masonry did a superb job repairing a brick retaining wall along our driveway that was falling down. They worked quickly and skillfully, salvaging as much of the existing brick as they could. They protected the existing plantings during the work, and power washed everything until it sparkled. The result looks better than new!

John is a visionary! We called A1 Masonry to tackle crumbled pavement, brick and stonework at our 95+ year old house. In less than three weeks, our yard was transformed. Stairs and walkways were replaced with beautiful pavers, trash and detritus were cleared away, ground was leveled, and it's now a lovely place to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Additionally, they dug a trench along the side of the house, waterproofed the outside wall and installed a French drain. We'll never have to worry about water leaking into the basement again. Great work.

We were very pleased with the quality of the work performed involving a repair of our front concrete steps. The repair was done promptly and is totally satisfactory.

I highly recommend this company. My outdoor brick staircase was falling apart, and the railing had come loose from the base. I called them on a Friday, and they came to my house the same day to give me a quote. Impressively, they sent professional masons the next day who spent the entire day repairing the damage. They even returned after the job was done to power wash everything, ensuring it looked perfect. Their work is high-quality, and they are very responsive and quick, with reasonable prices.

My roof was being replaced but when they pulled off the metal flashing on the brick edge, the bricks started to crumble. A1 Masonry came out and replaced all the crumbling brick with concrete blocks. It was a blessing they found a solution when they found ALL the bricks needed to be replaced not just a few. They saved me time and money with a solution that not only looks great but will allow my roof to be completed safely.

A1 is excellent! I would give them more than 5 stars if that was an option. They provided excellent service after a historic storm. They were fast and effective and have provided us with lasting protection.

Great experience from start to finish. Myles was great about giving a fair estimate, scheduling the job, and managing the install through the process. He was super quick to answer questions. We installed a new brick patio, and it looks great. It’s still day 1, but so far we’re super happy!

Shortly after posting about my experience, I received a call A1 Construction, and text from Sean informing me that an estimate would be sent. I provided the information requested and received it last night. I have chosen not to delete my review, as requested, because it details my experience which can not be negated.

REVIEW:
I write reviews when I think that buyers need to beware for them to make informed decisions. Unfortunately, I did not have the same 5-star experience as the previous 77 reviewers. Scheduling an appointment was easy except the “request a quote” button on their webpage does not mean that someone will contact you. I ended up calling the number a couple of days later to schedule.

Sean arrived on time, and before seeing my problem he inquired 3-times (back-to-back) if I had any other items that needed repair. My reply each time was “no”. I have some sales experience so immediately felt like I was being upsold and had not talked about my problem or built a rapport yet.

We reviewed my problem area (nothing technical), and he gave me a verbal quote of $4500. I requested a written quote with a breakdown of the repairs which I stated when I scheduled. To my surprise, Sean told me that “we are old school and do provide written quotes”. After he left, I texted him to let him know that I requested a written quote when I scheduled. To date, he has not responded.

This company hands out nice car flyer postcards as business cards, and has nice logo trucks, but does not provide written estimates. Something is wrong. Based on my experience, it appears that A1 Construction may be looking to take advantage of certain unsuspecting homeowners.

We have a 30 year old brick patio, walkway and drain cover that all needed to be re-grouted and repaired. John and the A1 Masonry Team offered wonderful experience and excellent reviews. He explained the process to remove the grouting which is a very grueling, manual job.
His team was incredible. They worked long days, cleaned up every night and continued that daily until the work was complete. Their work was precise and beautiful. We now have a "new" patio and walkway that will last many more years.
