I don’t routinely write reviews so it’s quite the event when I feel compelled to take the time to produce one. Perhaps A bit of background to this story would be beneficial. I purchased my house in 2013 and overall the roof was in good condition. However, during the inspection we were told the seals around the vents for our heaters would soon need repair. Well the fact that this review is passing before your eyes should make it clear that I did not address this issue at that time.
Cut to 2018
So, it has been a good start to the monsoon season and I come home in the pouring rain, gots’ not idea anything going on (remember the roof was 2013 girl's problem), and a drop of water hits my hand as I am walking from my car inside my garage. Cue me looking up to the ceiling not seeing a leak then looking down and noticing a small wet spot on the ground. I searched around until I observed a small amount of water dripping off the pipe that goes up through my heater. Obviously at this point memory comes flooding back into me like the adult versions of the characters from Stephen King’s It. My mind then recalls that I have a two-story house with a separate heating unit upstairs. This one is leaking quite a bit worse and from two different places.
After cleanup is complete and the best possible protective measures are in place the obvious next step is to begin looking for someone help with repairs. I was surprised to discover finding someone to assist me with my roof was quite a challenge. The first person I called actually had a voicemail stating that they would not be able to take any new clients until further notice. This felt like quite a setback to start with. The next person scheduled an estimate for the upcoming weekend and then never showed up when scheduled. After several more calls the first person I was able to have come give an estimate did not even go onto my roof but gave an estimate of over $800. I would be waiting for the other estimates I had scheduled naturally but I was beginning to get worried (I saw the Money Pit). The next person to arrive for an estimate was A Top Roofing. In short order they were on the roof and the job was complete. The work was so minor they repaired it at no charge.
What more do I need to say? This level of service is not common in my experience. Perhaps A Top Roofing shares my sentiment that business relationships, like personal relationships, are best when they are long term. When a business and a client gain a level of trust and understanding they both benefit from this. Houses are long term investments and roofs need maintenance like all things. I know where I will be turning next time my roof needs attention.
