The cleaning and inspection appeared to be thorough. The two-man crew were on time, informative and professional. The price was in line with competitors in the area.
I cannot speak to any repair work yet as it will take 2-3 days to get an estimate on their recommendations.

I called A Merrie Sweepe for a second opinion, and I am SO GLAD I DID! A Merrie Sweepe showed me pictures, and gave me a clear estimate of the work that needed to be done and at a much better price than the previous company! Yall just found yourself a lifetime customer! I gave them 1 star only because without at least 1 you would not be able to see this.
We hired A Merrie Sweepe to install 2 chimney liners in early 2023. That job was completed almost satisfactorily. I questioned the insulation and mortar at the thimble in the living room and was told it was fine. In July 2024 A Merrie Sweepe cleaned our chimneys and the technician said, no, the thimble insulation and mortar were not fine. They needed to be repaired. No charge, but another appointment so an inconvenience. You’d think we’d be all set, but in October 2024 when we had our first fire of the fall the thimble had a whistle. Another appointment to fix that. The technician said it was because of how they installed the stovepipe into to the thimble after the mortar repair. Now mind you, during this appointment the stove was hot so the technician could hear the whistle which was caused by drafting. All’s good, right? NOPE. After fixing the whistle, the technician put a plastic contain on top of the hot soapstone stove and the container melted leaving a black stain on the grey soapstone. You guessed it, another appointment to remove the black stain, but only after contacting the stove manufacturer Hearthstone to get instruction on how exactly do we remove the stain. After A Merrie Sweepe burned off the stain, the soapstone is left with a pink discoloring and does not match the other grey soapstone on the stove. It is now April 2025 and I have been trying to get A Merrie Sweepe to repair the damaged stove since November last year. Damaged at the hands of employees of A Merrie Sweepe. Initially I talked with the office manager. But mostly she does not return any calls. I have left voice messages and written letters to no avail. We went to the office recently and she told us the owner is “handling it”. I have written a detailed letter to the owner and most recently sent him a detailed email. You guessed it, no response. During our drop in to talk with the office manager, said that no matter what A Merrie Sweepe does, we are not happy. Can anyone reading this understand why we are not happy? I understand that there are situations where “when it rains, it pours”. But I also believe a company should be responsible and make restitution when they caused the damage.

I would not recommend letting this company in your home.

Update. I searched Google reviews for A Merrie Sweepe and found that someone used my name and posted a 5 star review. I deleted it. Knowing this, can you believe any of their reviews? I certainly did not post 5 stars! Very underhanded!

After seeing my Google review, the owner of the company, Mr. Drohan, sent a message stating that I sent him a bill. This is not true. A Merrie Sweepe contacted another chimney company for a quote to repair my damaged stove. That company sent the quote to A Merrie Sweepe. According to the office manager, the quote was expensive and therefore the decision was made by Mr. Drohan to not repair my stove.

Corwin and his colleague did a great job inspecting my chimneys and helping resolve my future choices for 2 fireplaces and my gas boiler flue. Very helpful and insightful. Will have them back to install new chimney cap and flue liner for the gas insert.

Jacob and Terrance did an awesome job taking out cracked flue tiles and putting in a steel liner. They cleaned up beautifully and left not a trace of their work except for the great looking new parts we can see (rain cap, flue, etc.). Highly recommended!
