Vinny at 5 Star goes way above and beyond and the best part is, it doesn’t end when the job is finished. He stands behind his work and will come back (even years!) after if you have the slightest issue! I cannot say enough about how pleased we are that we used him. We had Vinny and his crew at 5 Star completely remove and replace our large picture frame bay window at the front of our house and could not have been happier. We got vinyl siding with decorative shake. The owner, Vinny, created a beautiful design that matched the architecture of our house. He was knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He immediately answered all of our questions throughout the process and did everything to make sure we were satisfied with the final product. Dave and the crew were fine craftsmen who took their time and came back to carefully finish small details. You can trust them to do the job right. It was nice to work directly with the owner rather than a salesman or a big company because we got personal treatment. We are very happy with the job!

SCOPE OF WORK:

Vinny and his crew replaced all Masonite siding, trim and fascia withJames Hardie Cementboard siding and replaced all soffits with Hardie Board or vinyl soffit. Additionally, they wrapped the porch columns. They painted the gutters, doors to the house, and garage doors. All 14 large wooden double hung windows in the house were replaced by no maintenance casement or sliding windows. Two quarter round windows were re-designed and replaced with trapezoid shaped windows to better follow the pitch of the roofline; a major improvement!! Please see before and after photo’s below. They replaced old lighting with modern new fixtures. They painted the old green door red. The entire outside of the house is new. My neighbors are all commenting on the new look.

Inside the house, Vinny used his knowledge and expertise to design and build the trim molding for the windows. A sleek, modern look evolved from the more traditional style. He mocked up many designs until we found one that achieved the desired effect.

THE WORK PRODUCT:

All materials were delivered on the same day. All arrived in perfect condition except for one window that was discovered broken after removing the packing. It was replaced right away.

THE WORK PROCESS:

The workers arrived promptly every morning and often left after 5 pm. They worked at a consistent pace and finished on time, despite a two day hurricane and many days of scorching heat and humidity. They were polite and responsive. All were devoted to quality craftsmanship. Vinny came every day to inspect the work. He took his time to answer all my questions and is very attuned to the customer concerns. He has a finely honed attention to detail. He is honest, does not try to sell a product of feature that is not needed.

We went to King’s in North Hills to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Our party had reserved lanes ahead of time. Bartenders are great and probably the only positive aspect of our time. Front of house was extremely rude, had a negative attitude towards everyone in our party. Manager was made aware of this person it was so bad. Additionally, we were promptly kicked off our lanes immediately after our time was up regardless of whether our game was finished.

Honestly, all you really need to know is that when the siding wasn't even fully up, a person I had never seen before actually stopped their car in the middle of the street, rolled down the window, and said, "Wow, this looks amazing -- you must be so happy."

Both of these things are true. My house is beautiful now, and it looks even better than I envisioned thanks to the quality work and expert eye of 5 Star Service. I can't say enough good things about Vinny and the whole team. From the initial estimate to the final walk-through, everyone was so friendly, professional, helpful, and flexible. Vinny explained the pros and cons of everything that needed and could be done without upselling me, and he made me feel like a valued customer before I even signed the paperwork.

Any time I had a question, Vinny or Dave answered promptly. When I needed to add something to the project at the last minute, they worked with me to make sure it could happen. Every person involved with the window replacement, siding, and painting was so good at what they do. The speed at which the project was handled was incredible, but fast work doesn't mean anything if it's not also good work.

Five Star has recently completed a siding and window replacement project at our house to address damage caused by rainwater seeping behind the siding and into the plywood and the studs. While I acknowledge that legitimate situations may warrant change orders, Vinny's extensive experience and Five Star's legacy in serving the Triangle area led to accurately assessing the extent of the damage from the beginning, and his initial estimate reflected this expertise.

Wow, I have so many great things to say about 5 Star Service! We recently had the siding and all of the windows replaced on our home. To say we were very pleased is an understatement!

It started with the very first meeting with Vinny when we were looking for a company to use. Vinny spent a ton of time with us explaining the entire process, materials they would use and answering all of our questions to help us choose the right siding and windows for our home.

The team at Five Star did a great job on a large scope at our house. They replaced all of the Masonite siding, trim and fascia with Hardieplank and replaced all of our soffits with HardieBoard or vinyl soffit. Additionally, they wrapped our porch columns, replaced a bank of windows, and replaced our gutters as well. During construction, we ran into some wood rot underneath our old siding and they were able to replace the rotten wood with reasonable change orders and no delay.

Five Star was very responsive during construction and was very flexible completing a detailed punch list at the end of construction promptly.

Overall, the project turned out Excellent and I would recommend Five Star to anyone looking for siding work at their home.

I had 5 Star Service replace the siding and do exterior painting. Vincent, Jacob and the rest of the team were exactly what I was looking for. During the quoting process (I had four) I was impressed by Vincent’s level of detail. He explained the work to be done and answered all my questions. Before the job he answered all my questions and kept me informed of the job start date. During the project, Jacob was at the site every day and addressed any issues that I identified as well as some additional work. After the work was done Jacob followed up to make sure everything was good and addressed minor issues promptly. It’s been a few months since Vinny and his team finished with residing, painting, and replacing the gutters on our home. Their work was outstanding across the board. They definitely picked the right business name as 5 stars is all I can leave them for a review. Vinny came out to investigate a leak that our plumber said was coming from our siding. He very quickly determined that the leak was definitely not coming from our siding and explained, in detail, why he came to that conclusion. He walked me through quite a bit and I learned a lot in the process.

We called the plumbers back and they did eventually find the leak and verified that Vinny was correct. Even though detecting leaks isn't 5 Star Services specialty, Vinny still came out and was very professional about it. If it wasn't for him, it may have taken significantly longer to find the issue and resolve it before it became an even bigger one.

I would recommend him for the services that they actually specialize in, especially seeing how thorough they are when it comes to something they don't specialize in. Bravo to this company and a big thank you for saving me a significant amount of time let alone further water damage from our leak.

I cannot recommend 5 Star enough. We have used them many times over the years at both our old house and current house. They have replaced our roof, windows, gutters, and most recently replaced some siding, decking, and painted the exterior of our house. The first time I used them to replace windows at our old house. At the time, I got estimates from 5 other companies. 5 Star had the same or better quality windows at a much better value. I don't even bother getting other estimates anymore. I just go straight to 5 Star for all my exterior home repairs and improvements. They do a thorough, professional job in a timely manner. And when there is a backup on time, Vinny always lets you know what is happening. Vinny checks in and makes sure the job is done to my specifications, even doing extra little requests to finish everything off well. Vinny and his Five Star crew were life savers! The painter I had scheduled canceled the day before the job we set to be done and I had a tight time window for getting it done. Five Star responded quickly and did a fantastic job painting my daughters' bedrooms and both were difficult-to-cover colors. The crew communicated well -- another reviewer commented that it was a problem that English is not their first language - this was not a problem for me. They clarified my expectations for wall repairs, # of coats that would be needed, and other details ahead of time.
