I hired ZHI Restoration to do pointing and replacing new lentils , removing old red bricks and replacing them with new ones on my building which I was putting off for many years until I finally found this company and they did an amazing job on my home, I couldn’t ask for better service. They were very generous to find red bricks to match the existing ones.
The team would arrive very early morning although the weather was not great some days and I am very appreciate and satisfied with their work.
I would recommend them to anyone who needs outside construction work.

We had the exterior of our historical brick row house in Hoboken restored. We chose ZHI, because this contractor has been around for a really long time and they know historical buildings in the area inside out. All works (repointing of brick work, restoration of fire escape stairs, repairs to exterior stucco and waterproofing, restoration/painting of facade cornice) were executed nicely restoring the original character of our building. The contractor was very responsive, communication was straight forward and all of our wishes were accommodated along the way. The entire project was completed in reasonable time and at really competitive pricing. I highly recommend ZHI for restoration of your historical building exterior - they will get the job done and unbeatable pricing.

Would highly recommend ZHI for your general contracting needs. They did excellent work on historic stoop repair as well as on basement water remediation. They are very responsive every step of the way, stand behind their work, and will address any lingering concerns you may still have. Their pricing is fair for the quality of work and attentiveness throughout the process. Definitively give them a shot!

ZHI restored the facade of our Hoboken brick townhouse. They were great to work with - from the proposal all the way through completion of the project. The end product looks great and they came in on budget. Highly recommend them for brownstone and brickwork.

Home owner beware. I would give them zero stars if I could. We hired them to do the front face of our home. They used cement instead of mortar on our historic home, took half the pay, and never came back to finish the job. They were aware of the mess they did, but refused to come fix it. We hired another contractor, JP, and he couldn't believe the terrible workmanship done by this company. They destroyed the brick face by using cement, and to fix their shoddy work, would take twice as much as the original quote. We should have gone after them for compensation, but we were so upset, and knew that it would just languish in court, and decided to take the high road and move on. Please think twice before you hire them. They kept $10k, and refused to finish the work.

It's funny how a response is posted immediately when a review is posted, but many weeks of calling you directly, when you did the work, went unanswered. 293 5th Street. You're working on Jersey Ave/5th Street. Not hard to find us. We would like our money back. The entire neighborhood saw your shoddy worked and made note to not use your services.

Update:
Two weeks after providing address no response. Am I surprised? Of course not. I lived this a while back, as my post states. Again, HOME OWNERS BEWARE.

We hired ZHI Renovations to paint the trim under and above our windows, doors, and stairs, as well as remove the iron guards on the front of our brownstone. At first, they were punctual and seemed to work quickly. I even recommended them to our neighbor. However, things took a turn for the worse as their work grew sloppy. Paint marks were left all over, they left exposed parts of the removed iron, and instead of removing our mailbox, they painted around it.

Despite informing them that we wouldn’t be keeping the front door and didn't require sanding and painting, they initially deducted $200 from the quote, attributing it to iron door disposal, which we ultimately handled ourselves. When we asked for a price adjustment accordingly, they declined. In the pictures of the door trim I attached below you can see they didn’t even bother sanding the trim. They claimed they couldn't sand it due to its age only informing us about this after it was painted. For a Brownstone Masonry company, dealing with old wood should be a given, especially for properties over 100 years old like ours.Again they refused to lower the price, take a good look at the paint drip marks and tell me if that’s worth $2,400 (which was a large chunk of the overpriced total estimate of 7K).

Now for the worst part of this experience, our neighbor ended up using their services as well only a week later. Our property is recently bought and vacant for renovations. ZHI’s employees broke into our downstairs unit and stole our black paint to paint our neighbor’s brownstone. Obviously upset that someone would trespassed and steal from our property we quickly called them to complain. They gave us a quick I’m sorry and that they just wanted to match the paint to ours which they would replace (they never did). For the next two days ZHI employees without our permission continue to break into our downstairs unit to use our bathrooms and living space to eat. One of the days they even left the front door wide open creating a huge security risk. Day after day I called them to complain and even threaten to call the police and still they responded with an “I’m sorry about that”.

ZHI Renovations is extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend them to anyone.

I had the best experience using ZHI RESTORATIONS. Provided me with the satisfaction no other construction group could in the whole nj. The Owner was very kind and very professional. gave me a reasonable price and he is very responsive, arriving whenever I called and being able to sort out the issue as soon as possible. The team was also great, they know what they are doing and did very clean work. Overall, I am very satisfied with the services ZHI RESTORATIONS provide and I recommend them for any type of work you need done.

Came out to my house to address a broken shower/ bath valve. I texted at 7am. He was in there at 7.30am, diagnosed the issue and replaced the broken fixture. Really nice guy, great job, get service, good price. Tha
