Jerry helped us out with remodeling a bedroom after some major water damage from a unit above. He was easy to work with, attentive to what we wanted and was able to offer his opinions and experience to give the proper feedback to make the end result even better. He was extremely communicative throughout the process, and was willing to make a few changes on the fly. We had a couple hiccups when it came to final paint but even after we paid in full, they were will to come back to do some touch ups and ensure we walked away happy. I would definitely use Jerry and his team again.

We hired Jerry and his team to help with some window and door installations, drywall and painting. Overall, I was very happy with the work. Jerry was always available to discuss issues, changes and happy to pivot when needed. We added on some last minute work, installing a divider in our laundry room and some shelving, which he was happy to accommodate. His team worked quickly and diligently. They were always on time and I never had to chase them for anything. There was one issue with ordering the wrong window, which I went with since I didn’t want to delay the work. I would be recommend Jerry and be happy to use him again.

We are very fortunate to have Jerry do our renovation work in Hoboken. The closets that he built were amazing, and he tripled our storage space. Most importantly, he’s always there when you need him. It took a little while for the materials to arrive, but once they did and the countertop was installed, everything went quickly and smoothly. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE with this contractor!!!
We had our main bathroom remodeled with J C Builders last year. The project was done around March 2023. Few months later, we started seeing water came out from the grout lines. We contacted the owner Jerry immediately as our plumber identified the cause could be shower system was not installed properly. However, Jerry always made up excuses that the team was not around and refused to come back to fix the problem. We had no other choices, but hired another contractor to take care the issue. After opening the wall, no surprise we found the outlet in the wall was leaking and the surrounding wall was all rotten. In addition to this critical mistake, they also damaged our property multiple times during the project.
- They didn't follow the original design and cost us over $200 for the additional materials.
- Water can easily came out of the shower because the tiles were not leveled properly.
- The floor was not leveled properly, especially around the corners of the room.
- A chipped tile was installed in the middle of the room.
- Several tiles were not cut properly. There are so many chips on the edges.
- Many tiles were not grouted properly. There’s a lot of overflow.
- Multiple deep crack on the hardwood floor
- Multiple scratches on the brand new fixtures
- Parked on and ruined our lawn
- Scratched the brand new vanity door
- Chipped the brand new vanity top

I had Jerry and team convert a large bedroom into two tiny kids rooms with pocket doors. He pointed out things I hadn't thought of (apparently light in newly created hallways is important, who knew?!) and got the job done in less time than estimated. He was ok with last minute changes and generally just easy to work with.

I’ve had Jerry from J.C. Builders come to our house several times for estimates, and I hired him last summer to renovate the front of our house. This included refurbishing our steps and landing area, replacing most of the sidewalk, installing a new basement door, cellar doors leading to the basement, and handling a few other minor repairs. Overall, Jerry did an exceptional job, finishing within the stated time frame and delivering high-quality work.

Jerry is a very nice guy who attentively listens to your concerns and has a great team working with him. However, for the basement door, I had specified in the contract that I wanted a prehung door, which includes replacing the door frame. During the review of the work, Jerry informed me that he had purchased and installed only a door slab. I didn’t make a big deal of it since the overall quality of the work was excellent, and I didn’t want to delay the project further.

That said, I highly recommend Jerry and wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again for future work. Thank you, Jerry, for your hard work and professionalism! We’ve received many compliments from neighbors on how everything turned out, and I truly appreciate it.

I worked with Jerry on a bathroom renovation project for my apartment. From the start, he was good at communicating about the project and sending out an estimates early and clearly.
