Yoder & Sons Construction LLC

We hired Yoder and Sons to build a custom home in Rehoboth Beach. At first, when you meet Yoder, he is very nice and seems like he will be a good partner in building a home. This changes dramatically once you sign the paperwork and are trapped in a very difficult situation.

We are not new to building homes and have renovated and built several homes, so we understand the typical build process and its challenges and delays. Our experience with Yoder and Sons was a whole different level of delays (3 years worth) and overages (almost a hundred thousand dollars worth).

I was disappointed with how mean-spirited Yoder was. We would walk on eggshells, unsure of whether to reach out to try to expedite the build (which would cause them to deliberately drag their feet out of spite) or just wait for months for things to get done. One time, when we inadvertently signed in the wrong place on a form, Yoder pulled his guys from the job site for a full month. This was emotionally and financially very upsetting (we were paying a full mortgage) and very cruel. We paid a fortune for the build and were devastated when they deliberately left the job site for weeks to months at a time. We eventually had to hire our own site manager (at our own expense) to try to expedite the build.

I've never been through a divorce, but my experience with Yoder and Sons was reminiscent of a divorce, filled with emotional and financial distress. The interactions were so difficult, it bordered on abusive. Once you sign the contract, you are completely at their mercy. I don't wish this experience on anyone.

Don’t hire him. Remodeled my neighbor’s townhouse and what a disaster. Still not done going on over 2 years. He does not oversee his sub-contractors properly and they have caused damages to my home because of his irresponsible behavior. Sent him a bill, but he hasn’t paid it and won’t answer my calls.

We hired Yoder and Sons for a remodel of our home. We had a small hiccup at first, but we sat down together and came up with a resolve.

I can't explain how thankful that we worked it out. Mr. Yoder's Integrity, Honesty and Craftmanship are unparalleled in this industry.

Mr. Yoder, my wife and I would like to thank you for making our dream home possible, it exceeded our expectations in every way. We will always be grateful, Thank you Sir!
