Helical pier install
Townhouse neighbor in two family structure used them to repair 2018 earthquake damages they were insured for to $350k. Their half was over a poorly filled riverbed and sunk a foot+. Our half was on solid ground and only one corner of our crawl space sunk 3" at the deepest part. The rest of the back wall sunk around or less than 1". Our other neighbors on the other side needed NO repairs either. House itself was completely undamaged aside from minor cracks which had been repaired with spackle before they forced this "leveling."
People from this company opened a closed gate to trespass into our back yard, from our cameras we saw they examined that the shared fence was pulled away from the house by a couple inches (we don't remember if it touched before or not) and then approximately the next day we had a building inspector tag our property with a tag backdated to the date of the neighbors property several months ago to force it to be "leveled" without inspecting anything on our property.
We were forced us to install helical piers to correct these 3" in one corner no one inspected. We were asked by Wolverine's office person "what about repairing the rest of the house?" Based on that it sounded like they thought there'd be some high amount of contract available in damages that they'd just have to gain access to see and force that as well. In our opinion, they likely expected our place, sight unseen, to be as damaged as the neighbors. To fix a few inches of a sunken corner forced us to apply to FEMA to afford helical piers.
Once they were "leveling" this two family townhouse, they must have picked the highest elevation on the other half to bring our entire structure level with. They split our living room wall floor to ceiling, cracked drywall all the way through in several rooms, warped doorways, separated the ceiling from the top of the wall in the upstairs, put massive cracks around our fireplace wall which had already been spackled, destroyed the tile mosaic in the shower causing the decorative stripe to be raised noticeably higher on the shared wall than the other two, and cracked the grout all the way to the wall in both corners top to bottom.
Then they left it like this because we were forced to sign a document that we couldn't sue for any damages resulting from the leveling. If we didn't sign we would be sued for not fixing our tagged house even though it previously wasn't destroyed.
Our house wasn't built at the level it was raised to, the tile line in the bathroom proves it. The people we dealt with wore Christian hats and yet did this to fellow Christians. They act so friendly when you have a $350k insurance policy and loudly proclaim that all they have to do is just get it done for less than $350k (I'd think the insurance company would like to know that happened) but when they can get an inspector to tag your property based on very little after a natural disaster, they don't seem to care what it does to your home or family.
Anyway, they leveled our house but we were not happy with the thousands in damages left behind, him bringing our largely undamaged property to a sketchy inspector for tagging uninspected, nor the strongarm methods towards disaster survivors of the 2018 earthquake.
Wolverine repaired my entire house after the 2018 earthquake. They were professional, respectful, timely and did a fantastic job! When asked for ideas and feedback, the guys shared their thoughts to maximize the esthetics of my house. Hence these pictures are a combination of my ideas as well as theirs. As a female, working with a predominately male crew, I never felt uncomfortable. Highly recommend!
We just completed a 4 month project involving a huge amount of earthquake damage. Foundation repairs, and nearly a full remodel. Everyone at wolverine was a pleasure to work with and i would recommend them to anyone looking for a general contractor. Brad and Trevor worked on our project specifically, and i can't say enough great things about them. This company was fantastic and has been a pleasure to work with
