’ve used Winston’s Gutter Services in the past, and recently hired them again after their acquisition by Ned’s Home. Scheduling an appointment was simple through their customer contact center. Since it was late spring and they were quite busy, they gave me a two-week window for when the work would be completed.

The price was quoted based on the square footage of my house, which I found reasonable and consistent with what I’d paid previously for similar work.

On the day of service, I received a text notification when the crew was en route. My presence wasn’t required, which was convenient. The Ned’s Home truck was red, clearly marked, and looked fairly new. Two workers, wearing Ned’s Home shirts, carried out the cleaning. While they had safety harnesses, they chose not to clip into safety lines, but moved confidently across ladders and rooftops like Spiderman—clearly experienced.

They removed all debris from the gutters, flushed the downspouts, and cleaned up any debris that fell to the ground. They also reattached a loose gutter guard cover without me needing to ask. The total time on-site was about 35 minutes.

Afterward, I was notified that my credit card had been charged and received an inspection report summarizing the work performed. No issues were found with my gutters.

Overall, I had an excellent experience with Ned’s Home and highly recommend their services.

I recently posted a review of two stars. The reasons were due to inconsistencies in service, as well as some lack of attention to taking care of cleanup after the gutters were finished. I was immediately contacted by Ned’s service team who has taken over Winston gutter services, and was very kindly informed of recent changes and updates of improving service as well as communications to their Ned’s customers. I’m increasing my rating to four stars for the communication and immediate response to my concerns. But will have to wait till November to see how the actual work goes in this new system that they have implemented. Meanwhile, thank you Kristy I was very appreciative of your outreach.

So honestly we miss Winston’s. Now that Ned’s took them over the service has been less than stellar. I give a 2 because they do the work. But their timing is often too late in the seasons we have asked for service- not just weeks but months late (a fall clean up they arrived in mid-February). Additionally the debris they clear out is placed in paper bags at the end of our driveway- sometimes blocking the driveway- and several times when we try to move the bag(s) even with caution, they still fall apart and we need to shovel the debris into other appropriate containers.

Seriously- the quality of care between Winston’s (who arrived within a week of being contacted) and Ned’s is night and day. However they are VERY good at persistently trying to get us to do other things- replacing gutters, power washing, buying unnecessary items - we get tons of calls and emails for that. I just want them to do the gutters in a timely manner and with better options for the debris that they remove.

The gutter cleaning workers did a good job. Overflow seems to have been corrected. They were relatively quick, certainly less than a half hour. They operated independently so I did not need to be home. No advance notice which was a bit annoying although not necessary.

I first used Winston’s 25+ years ago. Now that its under the Ned Stevens umbrella, it has even better quicker service! The two fellows were attentive and helpful, and fixed up the problem area during the downpour from Hurricane Debby! They were terrific! Now I’m scheduling them to come clean the windows…

Please change service to twice a year. We removed the tree that left most of the material in the gutters.
This last visit resulted in only a tiny bag.
The crew made a mess in the yard. They blew hundreds of pieces of slate into our front and back yards. I have been picking out pieces every day since the gutter cleaning.

All seems to have gone well - workers showed up in accordance with that day's text notification (altho I had prior notifications of upcoming service that I had ignored and which apparently were rescheduled). Gutters appear to have been flushed out and thoroughly cleaned. Workers apparently were aware of the water hookup issue that I have explained to Ned's. Ned's subsequently recommended power washing of roof to remove moss. Perhaps more efficiently - and at a lower price - this could have been recommended to be done in conjunction with gutter cleaning.

We have used Winston’s Gutter Services for 12 years at two houses. They were a reasonable price and they were reliable and helpful. Good service. 5 out of 5 stars for historic service. After they were perhaps bought by Ned Stevens several things changed. I was repeatedly given a heavy sell for more frequent services, and upgraded service plans. I was told I couldn’t even schedule the day for them to come unless I selected the highest level plan. Otherwise they would just show up sometime on a day they picked. As someone who has dogs who have access to that backyard, that wasn’t viable. I’m not sure if this is actually their new policy or not but the lack of willingness to tell me a day they would come combined with a very unfriendly phone representative was very off-putting.

We've used Winston's for many years to do gutter cleaning and repair on our aging DC house. They are always thorough and efficient and the cost is very reasonable. We are on an automatic schedule, so I don't even have to remember to call for an appointment. They let me know by email and text when they will arrive and follow up the same way. It's also handy to be able to have them automatically charge our debit card once they have presented their bill for our approval.

They got the job done in a quick and timely manner. Only downfall is that the price quoted over the phone didn't match the final cost, there was a additonal $25 and they do not supply a final invoice of the cost breakdown. Regardless I would probably use them again, recommend they supply photos of before and after to customers for better service.

Everything was fine. Only suggestion is that you could do a better job providing advance notice. A reminder a day or two ahead of time would be helpful.

They are OK, seem to do the job just fine. They couldn't give me a good schedule of when they could perform the work, except for a few hour notice. This is a rental property, so I could not get out to turn the water back on for them. They can do a dry cleaning, so all was not lost.

Winston's was a total disappointment. They so carelessly dumped so much detritus on their first visit that they killed plants. On the second visit, they said they would clean the entire flat roof and remove what comes off. They didn't. They bagged 6 bags worth (yes, a lot) , but left the rest up against the house, including all the way around the back of the house. The person who came to do the work was angry and rude, and the people on the phone disregarded their commitment and recommended we hire someone to clean it up. Not helpful. I will never recommend them to anyone.

This is now Ned Stevens. Like Winston’s they do great work and clean up what falls on the ground. Unlike Winston’s, you never know when they will show up including at 8 am. And every fall they arrive at our house when few leaves have fallen so you either need to wait until December or January or need to schedule and pay for any extra gutter cleaning.

They did a thorough job of cleaning the gutters and removing any debris & leaves that fell to the ground.
They briefly used gasoline-powered blowers which are banned in Washington DC, and although not a major issue with me, some people would object!
All-in-all, a job well done....

Giancarlo was professional and I didn't even know he was doing my gutter cleaning except I had to turn on the water for him. The area around the house was kept clean and didn't even know he was finished.

The workers came, told me why they were here and what they were going to do. I didn't have to have any conversation and the work was done quickly, efficiently, and they left me feeling very satisfied.

The crew cleaned the gutters thoroughly, flushed them our and cleaned up all the debris, placing it in a paper bag that went out with Montgomery County trash collection service. They identified a problem with drainage of a downspout that we will now have taken care of.

I apologize for any mistakes I am making in this letter. I had a cyst removed from my finger in-well. I had a little bit problems communicating with somebody in your office. He was trying to explain to me why I needed to have a certain pipe scoped out and I did not understand everything he was saying. He seemed to be a little bit perturbed with me I think he hung up I was trying to find out why I needed this particular type of service and whether it was guaranteed or not and he took offense at that obviously. I think when I looked back problem was telling me that cleaning out the pipe as possible but the pipe might not be in good condition. Therefore I would spend approximately $250 to do something that didn't work. I think what he was trying to tell me that I didn't understand that clearly that putting in a new pipe wall to the street as a drain would cost me even more all I wanted to do was really have my gutters cleaned out which previously with Winston cost me go little more than $100 less the matter that it was $150 with last year's with somebody else. If you would like to keep me as a customer you should try to understand that not professionals in this kind of thing happens very rarely like to have some sort of guarantee that this the work and how much would it cost me to have that pipe installed underneath the garden

Sorry for any mistakes that I am making. I can’t type today because my finger’s in a cast. The Merry Christmas and happy new year and I hope somebody will call me back to give me a more exact prognosis.

Winston's (now part of Ned Stevens) provides good service. But their team used gas-powered leaf blowers to complete the work at our house, even though these are now illegal in Washington, DC (because of noise and climate-related emissions). I will be requesting that they switch to battery-powered blowers before using their service in the future.
