We used Whittaker Enterprises for a new roof, new siding, and new doors and windows. The project ballooned into a full rebuild of the front wall, a redesign of the front entryway, and structural repairs to the ceiling joists from a previous remodel that improperly removed a structural wall. Our 1948 house must have been a mill house with pre-fabbed panels assembled at the mill and erected onsite. Over the years window openings had been improperly modified with improper installation of the new windows. We found the T1-11 siding had been nailed directly to the original clapboard siding and a long list of other sins I won't get into. The high level of attention to detail throughout the project greatly impacted the overall outcome.

Whittaker Enterprises was instrumental in correcting every issue we uncovered along the way. The house is noticeably more weathertight and comfortable. Previous winters required the use of the electric baseboard in the front of the house to supplement the heat pump, now the heat pump heats the whole home. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Whittaker Enterprises for future home projects and plan to hire them for our next phase of rehabbing this old house.

My wife and I hired Whittaker Enterprises to remodel our kitchen as they came highly recommended. Brian was highly professional and we were extremely pleased with our new kitchen. He gave great suggestions and was very responsive to our needs. The final result was everything we hoped for. It is actually one of the pictures featured on the website. Around the same time as the kitchen was completed, our roof was damaged by a major wind storm. We also hired them to install a complete new roof. They did a fantastic job on this project as well. Unfortunately my family and I were required to move and we had to sell the house. The good news is that the upgrades to the house easily brought the value up further than I even expected. If I were still living in this area I would be calling Whittaker Enterprises first for any work to be done.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
