I am incredibly disappointed in the recent services and customer service I have received from Tony with Water Shield LLC. Tony has completed 3 projects on my home: roof, gutters, and now siding. He did a great job on the roof and gutters hence why I used him for my siding, but the siding has some issues which need to be addressed. I recommended Tony highly to neighbors who have used him and have given him a lot of business, now that I need him to come back to discuss some of the concerns I have he is not responding to my texts, calls, or emails. I am very concerned of this lack of communication and for this reason along with the issues I am facing with the recent siding job I cannot recommend him.

I signed a contract stating there is a 10-year Labor Warranty stating " This warranty guarantees that your siding has been installed with the utmost of care and for 10-yrs if there is any siding installment issue doe to craftsmanship by Water Shield LLC, the siding issue will be rectified with the labor free of charge to homeowner".

I plan to utilize legal services to ensure this binding contract is followed.

Called them for a minor roof issue (a few shingles came loose). They had someone out within two hours and fixed the next morning (before it rained). Great team. Very responsive. Honest upfront pricing. They’ve become my go to for any roofing issues. This was my second time using them and they’re consistent in everything I said.

I had a full roof replacement due to age. I chose Water Shield as they were a local, smaller business with a good reputation. The materials were decent, their pricing was fair and on par with others, and the craftsmanship I would consider good. There were several elements of the installation that could have been better or that a shortcut was taken. My issue and the reason for the 2 stars was that the follow up service was / is poor. I've had two leaks, one I was able to get on the roof and resolve, the other outstanding and ongoing and that has caused damage to the home - not major, but somewhat costly and time consuming. I've had no less then a dozen documented exchanges including images of the leak and still no resolution. More so, like others have noted, I've had 6 scheduled (yes, confirmed) dates / times for the repair visit to happen and they were a no call / no show. I'm not a fan of posting less then stellar reviews, however, there comes a point when others need to know... now you do!

If I could give them zero star I would because it's the worst company I have ever worked with. Tony is cheater, worked on my roof and two weeks later a storm came through and the shingles fall off. I called to complain I got the worst altitude from his office manager(wife) and they wanted to charge me again from their work. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody.

Water Shield was great. They communicated with me and performed flawlessly. They moved patio furniture and replaced when done. They priced the job correctly and worked with me to install shutters as well. I highly recommend them.

This review is long over due, Water Shield has been by far the best home improvement company I have ever used. My mother and I have been using Water Shield for about 3 years now. The first time was when my mother needed her roof replaced and gutters, a few months later I had my roof replaced by them as well. Recently I used them for a siding repair, no appoints were available but Crystal found away to squeeze me in, and like always Tony showed when they said he would, and was able to complete my repair right away. This companies is reliable and trust worthy, I recommend them all time to friends and family.

I called Water Shield, LLC because I noticed a water stain on my ceiling. I called the office and spoke to Crystal who scheduled Tony to come out and asset the issue. He was prompt for the set appointment time and was able to find a hole in my 2 year old roof. He give me a fair repair quote and was able to remove two satellite dishes also. He said he would return on the weekend to do the repairs, but to my surprise he came the very next day! I also asked him if he could replace a rain cap on the roof flue pipe and he told me no problem! He is such a lifesaver!! I really liked his work ethics and his desire to help a customer. I will recommend Tony and his company to all my family and friends. Thanks again!!

Awful company. Congenial but does not do proper work or, worse, admit his error. Company was contracted to put a new roof on our townhouse this past March 2018, after a major wind storm went through the area. My husband is elderly, has a detached retina and suffers from dementia, which the owner knew, so we had no way to review his work, or realize that he left flashings unsecured, damaged our chimney (never advised us of that so that immediate arrangements could be made even if that involved paying more then the inflated cost he initially charged) and worse he and his crew failed to police the work area: dozens and dozens of used nails were found left in our gutters.
How were the nails found? This past July 2018 as heavy rains covered the area for days on end my husband and I noticed, for the first time in the nearly 30 years of living in this house, that water was coming in through both the roof AND the damaged chimney. While he did come out, on 24 July 2018 he refused to do anything to abate the rain fall and resulting damage to our house: said he’d be out that weekend. Numerous calls were made to both his personal cell phone, the office phone, answered by his wife, and even an email was generated each asking which day if the weekend would he be here. Not one time was any response given.
He finally answered his cell phone the evening of 29 July 2018, never offered an apology, or explanation for his failure to help us the previous weekend but said he’d be out “first thing” Tuesday AM the 31st of July to fix things. Not the Monday but a week after he learned of the issue.
Apparently appointments mean nothing to him or his company because he failed to show the last weekend of July and Tuesday the 31st. I again called him, early, as he promised but “no” he wasn’t coming the 31st either. He wasn’t coming and had ghosted is, with not even temporary arrangements to stem the rain because he knew, on 24 July 2018 that his poor workmanship had caused the chimney damaged that led to the flooding in our home.
Having taken more then our insurance claim allowed in March, and demanding hundreds more to fix what he broke in July he then blew us off. We were left to scramble and find competent workers who literally dropped what they were doing to repair the roof and fix the chimney. We are now left with a damaged home, ruined carpets and ceilings work not only did he boast that he’d never touch as he can do faster work on roofs, but work that I would never allow him near -his work on our roof having shown that he lacks the basic skills to do even that job.
He, and his family run company lack the moral ethics to run a company, too. He remains congenial but when confronted with absolute proof of his ineptness, both he and his wife become hostile and belligerent. They know the work performed in March 2018 was shoddy: he saw it himself and immediately elected to run from us. This company has cost us additional thousands of dollars in repairs -repairs that remain unfinished in our home due to continuing conversations with insurance companies, and others, on how best to resolve this while preserving our home.
Read the boasts they themselves put on their Face Book Page -“...fixed dozens of homes, in March after the wind storm...”. Perhaps if this company had slowed down, in this case for sure, the workmanship would have been better and we would not be left with a damaged home.
Would not recommend them to approach my property or fix anything on it, even something as small as the roof on a dog house.

Service questions

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
