Made a late afternoon call to see if they could accommodate plowing our driveway. Fast response from the company and great job by the plow operator! We can navigate our driveway now!

Do not contact Genesis Construction Group for a bid. Seems like a great company on their website, but awful customer service! I scheduled an appointment to meet about my renovation which took two weeks to have. Great meeting for 2 hours and was so excited they could get me a bid back before Thanksgiving (2 more weeks). Day before Thanksgiving, I reached out and was told that Mark would get back to me before end of day. No call! After many calls and emails for the next few weeks, still no bid after 5 weeks. Finally the office staff said “do you want us to still bid or not” since I had other bids ready to compare and needed to make a decision. I said of course I want a bid still, I met with Mark 5 weeks ago for a reason! Was told it was a large project and took longer, but when Mark was here he had sold me on their quality of work and how fast they could get the job completed. I told them of course I wanted a bid still, but ghosted! No responses or call backs to follow up with the process. This was an important project for me because I had to move my mom in unexpectedly and needed to get a bedroom and bath on first floor for her. No additions, just adding some doors and walls to existing structure. DO NOT waste your time calling them for a bid! There are many other companies in the area willing to do this type of work and give honest feedback on your projects!

We used Genesis after comparing three different companies. We hired Genesis to complete a remodel on our master bathroom. It was fortunate we had the project done when we did. They not only found the usual rot issues, but figured out why the back of home was always cold in the winter and hot in the summer. You guessed it...the builders did not insulate the ceilings in the back of home. Not only does our new bathroom look great but it is much warmer.

Mark, Travis, Kayleigh, and Kim from the Genesis team were all very helpful and professional. The Genesis team was always prompt about answering any text or phone calls regarding the project and tried to keep on top of their subcontractors which is not a minor feet these days.

I would also like to thank Mr. Berrera and Able which were two of the sub contractors. They did excellent detailed worked on everything they touched and were very courteous and helpful.

Airing my frustrations about Genesis Construction Group so maybe I’ll finally get a call back!

So my family endured a house fire back in June 2023, we’ve been back home for a few months and very soon after we had a large amount of water leak into our house. We can only assume it was the neighboring townhome as it’s still under construction. We hired Genesis Construction for our restoration after the fire and for this subsequent water damage to our basement. They were prompt coming in to tear up the place but now we feel like we’re being ghosted. Can’t get ahold of our contractor, I call the office and get promised a call back that has yet to happen. It’s been over 2 weeks trying to get some answers and nothing. They are real quick to hound about payments but when it comes to getting answers, call backs and results during the last few months, absolutely terrible. Also I asked for a complete invoice for the restoration after there were issues about final payment and the total cost on the estimate varying drastically! And I haven’t seen that either. We were promised so many things at the beginning and now it’s just empty promises and my basement looking like a wreck and an abandoned construction zone. Be very Leary of using Genesis for any home remodel!

I understand you could not help the insurance company's decision, nor our decision to finally cancel with Genesis after the grueling process of trying to get you to help us. But even if we abided by YOUR contract, canceling the contract should have costed us the 10% held as $192.50, not $1131. It is poor business to promise work will be completed around 30 days after the deposit is received and contract is signed (which I have in writing), then not start the project until 98 days later, THEN penalize us for finally canceling the project. I'm reviewing you based on your customer service and lack of integrity. Not what you can and can't control the insurance co to do. But please, continue to place blame elsewhere instead of taking accountability. I will continue fighting for the remainder of our refund that is due to us. It is the right thing to do considering what your company has put us through.

If I could give this company negative stars I would. Their customer service has been HORRIBLE!!!!! After they did an initial estimate and received our deposit, we heard NOTHING from them. We attempted from July 8th to October to get a start date for the project. During that time, we incurred additional water damage and mold and now the company is trying to tell me expenses were incurred so we won't get our full refund. However, no itemized statement has been provided to us showing what those "expenses" could have been. Other than maybe 2 hours of labor pulling out one small cabinet, they're employee did nothing else. My husband had already pulled up flooring and drywall to stop the leak we had. I guarantee we have incurred more costs than that business has while waiting for them to provide us with the "exceptional" customer service we were promised. I'm sure they will deny it all, but all communication I've made with them have been via email and I have it all in writing to prove it. I even tried reaching out to the CEO, Kim, and explained the full situation in hopes she would at least acknowledge things could have been handled differently but she has taken no accountability.

I recently hired Genesis Construction Group to replace the entire siding on my house and shed, as well as to install a new entry door. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. The team was professional, attentive, and highly skilled. They guided me through every step of the process, answering all my questions and providing great suggestions to ensure everything turned out perfectly. The workmanship and attention to detail were top-notch, and they completed the project on time and within budget. I couldn’t be happier with the results—my home looks incredible! I would highly recommend Genesis Construction Group to anyone looking for quality construction work.

You do not need to worry if genesis is a reputable company. They do what they say they will do.

I, and my family, don't really get estimates from other contractors because I don't need contractor hassles or unprofessional work. I just want to know the work will be done correctly.

I believe Genesis should be rated at 5 stars, but there is something for others to consider. A corner of my porch's concrete (6 inches to each side, not much) was knocked off during a railing install by Genesis. I don't blame Genesis nor the workman, the railing is First Class. For the concrete work Genesis requested an up-front payment of $400 for handyman work billed at $100 / hour. The work took at most 2 hours. The workman stayed at my home, in his truck, while the concrete set. After 9 hours I said the workman must leave because I must leave and can't let a workman be unaccompanied for many reasons. The next day I removed the wood forming the concrete repair myself. I later received a bill for $500 more for the time the workman waited. If I knew I would be billed for him to sit in his truck, I would have had other 'handyman' odd jobs done for my home. I am not upset with Genesis, nor the workman, but I should have been told I would be billed for someone to watch concrete dry. I repeat, I was billed for someone to watch 'concrete dry.'

So, I rate 5 stars even with the described handyman issue? Yes, Genesis did good work and has been very reputable for several jobs. Just ask the basic questions about billing up-front so you are not surprised. I plan to use Genesis again for several projects at my home.

Genesis construction team repaired storm and wind damage around our windows frames. They also repaired interior drywall damage. They did a great job! I would definitely call them again if I need repair work. They have professional and responsive administration team. It was very helpful to be able to reach out to the administrative team if I had any questions.

They showed up promptly and helped get the standing water out of my basement. They were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and stayed on the job well past midnight making sure the job got done. We will absolutely be using them again.

Genesis performed a master bathroom remodel and did a great job. It was completed on time and budget. The assignment of a dedicated project manager kept it moving to include all inspections. We are very pleased with the work.

We needed to do a major remodel of our house, complete with a ramp. Talked with several contractors and they all said to use Genesis. They came out, gave me quote for: removal of a kitchen deck and step, to be replaced with a mudroom with ramp, replace/repair the kitchen door/subflooring, reside the house, remove the dishwasher and replace the master bathroom toilet and hot water heater. Most of the work was done by one guy - Paul. He was fast and accurate. The team they had for the siding had it all down and back up in a day and a half (1234 square foot house) They gave us a shopping list of things to get and they installed it for us - saving us money in the long run. Had the ability to store the items until needed.

Genesis Home Improvement did a wonderful job on an old remodel house. They are patient and conscientious. They had to “fix” a previous contractors errors and finish the job. I am very pleased with their work and follow through. Thank you for a job well done!

Genesis was fantastic to work with! Any questions were addressed immediately, work was done in a timely manner and the price was fair. I would definitely recomment Genesis and will be using them for my future home projects.

We have done two jobs with Genesis and they both have turned out great. First one we had an issue with a third party engineer but they helped us solve that one. The second one we had supply chain problems but only had one very minor issue when done that was resolved in a work day. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

The team performed a bathroom remodel and did a great job. They performed a professional job as planned and scheduled. The budget was adhered to and everything was done as expected. We have been very happy with the job.

Like other general contractors wev’ve had over the years, poor communications with the sub-contractors and the customer. Workers don’t show up as scheduled and customers are not notified of delays or cancellations. .

We had a pipe leak on our upper level while we were away from several weeks. We returned to a house with most of the west side of the house water damaged - ceiling caved in, walls stained and wet, wood flooring wet and buckled. Our insurance assigned the case to Genesis and we are so glad they did. They were very responsive and after a bit of a slow start on the actual repair work, they moved out smartly. Their paint team did amazing work repairing the ceiling and walls - they look better now than when we moved into the house when it was new. When there were a few things that we were not happy with, they were quick to resolve our concerns. Only trouble spot was they had to sub out the stair repair and that company (the company that built the stairs when the house was constructed) was difficult and unresponsive but Genesis - and our project manager, Stephen, stayed on them and harassed them into fixing the stairs as they should. We are very pleased with all the repairs.

Joe was our contractor with GHI, and he was amazing! He held our hand through the entire process from start to finish. GHI did wonderful work and we are very please with the results. Very knowledgeable and worked efficiently. We had a couple of hick-ups along the way, but of no fault of their own. They kept me up to date with everything and I NEVER felt forgotten or pushed to the side in favor of other projects. 100% will use again!

First person came and ceiling crack repair was very noticeable and not smooth. They were very quick to come back to fix it. Repair looked nice and they gave a year warranty but after warranty was over the next year the crack was back. No other cracks in my house. They did offer to come back and give a estimate to fix it again. Why would I use the same place to repair what didn’t get repaired right the first time.

Kind, respectful and professional staff and crew. I’ve lived through a lot of construction and the dust that comes with it…despite them doing drywall repair work, my home was kept clean and relatively dust-free! By far one of the best contractors I’ve worked with. You can tell they really care about their customers.

Genesis Home Improvement remodeled part of our kitchen, added flooring and they were a fantastic company to work with that exceeded our expectations. Joe, our estimator, got us a quote in a timely manner and asked all of our questions quickly. Michele kept us up to date on the status of our project weekly when we were waiting on permits. Tim, our project manager, kept me informed as our project progressed! He answered all of my questions right away, day and night! Thank you Genesis for a beautiful new space! We will call you when we are ready for part 2!

Genesis did our shower about a year ago. We had some mold happening around the base of the shower. We called them and basically they blew us off. They said mold happens and there is nothing that can be done. We had another contractor out and we found out that Genesis used the wrong grout and caulking on the shower and that was the reason for the mold. Do not bbn use this company if you want things to last.

I had my main floor bathroom and master bathroom remodeled by Genesis. They took my wife's design and ideas and turned it into reality. From the design process throughout the timeline waiting for all materials to arrive and then the actual build the team kept us very informed and how they felt they were progressing. We had some challenges mid stream but everyone worked together for a solution and the "beam" that was placed has really been the correct thing to do. Overall the experience was good. The price on day one was the price upon completion and that means a lot when dealing with a contractor. You can rest comfortably knowing you have hired Genesis to complete your home project.

We would absolutely recommend Genesis Home Improvement. The whole process from project development to estimation to execution was nearly seamless. They replaced our rotting old wood columns and railing in the front of our house, as well as installed beautiful wood beams in our family room. They were flexible with add ons and client indecisiveness. The electrician they used was also excellent. The whole company was definitely client focused and very invested in our satisfaction.

Genesis Home Improvement (GHI) recently completed a major renovation on my home that entailed 2.5 bathrooms and a kitchen. I could not be happier with the results of every portion of the project. GHI transformed my 1988 home to an incredibly beautiful and functional space to grow into for years to come. Throughout the process, GHI bent over backwards to make sure my needs were met, and that I was satisfied with end results. Needless to say, I am satisfied. GHI did beautiful and quality work on my home and I plan to continue to utilize their services in the immediate future on some exterior repairs and updates on my home. Thanks GHI!

I had the pleasure of having Genesis Home Improvement repair my basement door and frame, along with dry rotted wood under the siding, and correct the flash that was improperly installed, which was the root of the issue.issue. Long story short, in a nut shell, rain had gotten behind the siding causing quite a bit of damage. Though the repairs took a bit longer than norm however due to the pandemic, it’s understandable. Everyone that I interacted with at Genesis were always professional and warm. Michelle always kept me in the loop as to the status of the material order, and work progress. She literally kept me updated on a daily basis, and I loved it!! Paul, the guy who completed the repairs was always pleasant and friendly. He always informed me of any issues he may have found. I’m glad I chose them for my home repairs!

I hired Genesis in 6/2020 to build a basic basement home office. They only had to frame 3 walls, install some outlets and recessed lights, and paint-ready drywall. No painting, no trim, no flooring was to be done by them. A very simple project. They estimated to be done 2 weeks from start which was in mid Aug. It took them 5 mos, and endless “re-dos” because the first crew did such a bad job. Framing was wrong, room was almost 2” out of square, corners weren’t square, drywall was/is horrible, and they damaged the new floor when they had to come back to fix things. To correct the crooked framing, my room is now 8” smaller than planned. They said it is was my idea to shorten the room, when in fact it was a concession I made to get it done after 5 mos of dealing with them. In the end, they did credit me for the material to replace the damaged floor but only credited a fraction of the labor it will cost me to replace it. They also claim it took so long because they were trying to “achieve my vision.” I wasn’t looking for perfect...but “close” would have been nice. Beware of this company. I have over 150 pics of all their mistakes and I’m more than happy to share upon request.

Mark and his team did another great job for us at our main home (they previously did a substantial roof and siding project for us at my aging mother's home in early 2019, and had coordinated the entire project around her chemo treatments).

I have been in the commercial construction industry for 36 years, and understand that some residential projects are just too much for DIY'ers. This particular project involved the removal and replacement of a door and sidelight opening in our main living area. The glass in the original system from 1997 was failing and the overall installation was shoddy, allowing air infiltration. The new door unit (9' long double-door with sidelights) was better quality than expected, and the installation looks and functions great. Will definitely keep doing business with the Genesis team.

From beginning to end, the GHI team was extremely professional and a pleasure to work with. They walked me through every step of the way, assisted with color and materials choices, and explained pricing in detail. Wonderful people to work with, great pricing, and they did an awesome job. We will definitely be using them for future projects!

Had Genesis Home Improvement come out for a quote on an addition to our home. They were very nice and friendly during appointment set up. The estimator that came to our home was Dillion Butler. He also was very nice and seemed to have a good handle on our project. He promised to have the estimate to us in a few days.

That's where the customer service came grinding to a screeching halt. We called several and emailed several times and have never gotten a reply. The one time where we actually spoke to a person, we were promised that Dillion would call us before the end of the day. That never happened.

Obviously, Genesis is not interested in our business.

11/10/20 update: In response to the one star review, Genesis reached out to me. I asked for the estimate that should have sent back in August. The estimator made excuses for why it wasn't sent and promised it right away. I have never received it. This company is a joke.

This by far has been the worst ustomer service I have ever seen. None responsive, treated as if our time wasn't important or as the customer we weren't important. Took 4 months to get the job done and the quality of the work was sub-par, rushed and sloppy, especially for the price. I don't recommend Genesis at all!

Where to begin. Ryan was awesome to work with. Got my estimate and date. Entire roof replaced. Going through insurance. Their adjuster and ryan were off by 3k. I was told my him and the project manager it's "normal" I trusted that. Date of start came and went no response shingles apparently on back order. Threatened several times if I didn't pay 1/2 of the job 9000 dollars they would cancel my job. Reluctantly I paid it. 4 weeks later job is scheduled. I was told I'd be informed of any upcharge. Two days later job was complete. Looks awesome by the way. However nails all over the driveway yard deck etc. There honestly is trash hanging in my trees. My freezer was unplugged and I lost 500 dollars in meat. Then the job was complete my deductible was paid. 3k.

Then the owner sent me an email demanding the upcharge they added. When I informed her that I was told that was her employee ryan that guaranteed me that my insurance company would pay that she got nasty. Sent me the contract telling me I better pay or face late charges. Emails between is some how vanashed. Ryan called and smoothed it out.

A month later state farm due to covid hadn't sent the additional money although I contacted them many times. The owner again reached out not only threatened to add additional charges but a mechanics lien on my home. I had state farm call her .

She agreed to wave the fees but charged me 400 dollars more 210 for wood I never saw and the rest I have no clue ...

Bottom line. They use the bible for sales. She is no christian. She is mean she is rude and she is unprofessional. I would recommend looking elsewhere.

I will be talking to State farm about the relationship.

In the end this was a 23k roof job.

April 2024 update: I used Genesis's Handyman service to replace an exterior door frame that had rotted. They got me on the schedule fast and the work was done within a week! I can't recommend them enough for projects both big and small!

I had a laundry list of small jobs to do on the exterior of my house. Genesis was prompt with getting me a reasonable estimate and was great about adjusting my estimate with what jobs I wanted to cut out or add before we completed the contract.

When coming out to do the job, the workers were always polite and professional. One of my jobs ended up being more complicated than we thought it would be and Genesis was very quick about getting me an estimate on the extra work and the whole jobs was completed the right way and it all looks great. Everything was done on a great timeline, even with the complications of the pandemic to work around.

I highly recommend the Genesis team for all of your home improvement jobs and I will definitely be calling them again in the future!

Very quick response and exceptional customer service! The team arrived. Did a very thorough inspection of work that needed to be done. It took the time to give A very detailed description of the work needed.

Just wanted to share an update to my prior review. Finally after 10 months and the insurance company threatening not to pay them they came out and repaired the screw up they did on my roof, a second time. Funny thing is I did finally receive a call from the owner Kim, she never apologized for the headache they caused me and really only seemed interested in getting paid. She called me to schedule a time and date for her crew to come out and repair their mistake. Found out she doesn't even live in the area so all the work she does is remote. Probably the root of the poor communication I experienced with this company. As expected we had to clean up after them but at least it is now behind us. This company has been one of the most disorganized companies I have done business with and the poorest communication I have ever experienced. If it weren't for the fact that I went through my insurance company they would have totally screwed me and we would have ended up in court. From reading the reviews it appears they were a great company at one time, maybe they can get back to that someday but as for now, I would steer clear from these guys!

You stated that I placed incorrect information online. Please for everyone to see exactly what did I state that was incorrect? The only one who is providing incorrect information is you. I think the most troubling part about how this all happened is my insurance company contracted you guys to do a job. When you stated it was complete I had an inspector from the insurance company come out as some things didn't look right to me. The inspector the insurance company sent out (not me) found that you were attempting to bill the insurance company for flashing around all of my skylights and chimney and none of it had actually been replaced. You said the job was complete! I wonder how many other people this has happened to? Unless they had it inspected they might never know! They also found that the roof was misaligned and required you to fix prior to being paid. So you send out a crew that installed all of the flashing and to fix the misaligned roof. The misaligned roof wasn't fixed. Then you send out someone to take picture and reported back to the insurance company that you fixed the roof and provided them with the pictures. The only problem was you provided picture of the side that was good and not the side that was misaligned. Again, very shady in my opinion. Then you refuse to fix the roof until you realize the insurance company is not going to pay you and you finally come out and fix the roof. I have plenty of picture of everything including the mess you left in my yard. All of the boxes for the gutter, lots of nails and lots of pieces of roofing. Ronnie even pointed out a nail that was in my pool! Please humor us and let us know what exactly is not correct? Even my insurance company was surprised... One last note, you were contacted on March 8, 2018 and Ronnie came out a couple days later. I called you on May 2, 2018 because I had not heard anything and the response I received was I needed to sign the contract. No contract had been sent and clearly no contract had been generated. I got a call from your company asking me to go online and pick out a color even though I had already done that with Ronnie. Your company finally completed the roof late December 2018 so that would be a total of 10 months.

Very disappointed with the service. They missed multiple appointments without giving prior notification. Like other reviewers, they did a messy job of cleanup, leaving nails in our driveway and steps and some gunk on the skylight. Mostly, I was disappointed in the wood floor material they ordered for our kitchen. They ordered engineered bamboo of the cheapest quality to replace our hardwood floors and didn't show us the material, leaving it in our house to acclimate. Since they took forever to follow through with the appts, we decided to go with another company which was quicker to respond and give an honest and better estimate of the work. The company refused to refund us for the supplies, saying that it was past the 30 days even though it was them who weren't available to complete the job in that time. All in all, would not recommend them for any service.

Took 3 phone calls to clarify our email address. Our quote was for 3 different projects - but there was no breakdown for each service. I asked them to break it down by task for me. I got an updated quote quickly. However, they did not do what I asked. Always very polite - just no follow through. Nice kids but need a bit more experience. And I thought the price to fix our roof was really high. I'm going to shop around. I may be back.

Well, this was not the review I wanted to write for this company as I was excited to use them. They were referred to me by my insurance company. Unfortunately this has to be one of the most dysfunctional companies I have done business with in a long time. I could write a book on how bad they are but will spare you most of the details. It took them almost 6 months to do the job, they claim to be too busy yet they did not communicate that to anyone. Had we known it would take them that long we would have contracted a different company to complete the job. They dropped a trailer off blocking my garage one day while the wife and I were out without notice. Thankfully we already had the car out. I had to call for status updates several times. When they finally did the job, it looked terrible and I found a hand full of nails in my yard, including one of those big ones used to put up gutters. My son's car was parked next to the trailer when they were removing the old roof. We would have gladly moved the car if they had asked but they didn't. When I walked outside I saw that they had missed the trailer and there was an old shingle on my car. Thankfully it didn't do any damage, it’s an Audi and a very nice car. They were supposed to install a ridge vent and didn't. I called my insurance company out to inspect and found that not only were the shingles not aligned correctly but that they also billed the insurance company to replace all of the flashing and did not replace any of it. In my opinion that is insurance fraud. The inspector also stated that the shingles needed to be redone and aligned correctly. They sent out a crew a couple weeks later to fix the error. It took them all day only to find out that when they put the shingles back on they again did not align properly. The insurance company required them to take picture and they did however they did not take any picture showing the shingles still misaligned, which in my opinion is as bad as lying. I took pictures and sent it to my insurance company where they clearly show the shingles still misaligned. Now, Genesis is stating that I am being petty (even though it was the inspector that pointed it out) and are refusing to fix the issue. My insurance company has stated that I need to get bids to have the roof repaired and that it will be deducted from what Genesis was going to be paid. More headache for me! I have asked to talk to the owner and not only have they refused to give me her/his contact information but she/he has never reached out to me. This is completely unacceptable. Bottom line is this company has been very dishonest and has in my opinion attempted to defraud my insurance company. The work they did needs to be fixed and something that should have taken a couple weeks to complete has now been going on for almost 8 months. It's very sad.. All I can say is stay far away from this company! I was really hoping I was going to be able to write a good review!

Would highly recommend Genesis as Mark and team are very professional and do excellent work. They completed a bathroom remodel and screened a porch with no issues and 6 months later everything is still perfect.

Genesis Home Improvement helped me during one of the most difficult times in my life. My husband had to have a major surgery and I needed a handrail installed on my front porch and they had someone out super quick and the gentlemen Paul stayed super late to get the job done and endured to drill cut etc away from the house to avoid noise as much as possible as my husband had brain surgery. Bobbi was so wonderful at coordinating with her professionalism and as always Mark and Kim showed such compassion. I recommend Genesis to everyone and if you want great work from great people, look no further!

Mark and his crew are really fantastic. We couldn't be more pleased with the project we chose for them to do. We had a wall put up to close off our front living room to make into an office with french doors. The work that was done turned out really nice and we are very pleased. Mark and his team did an amazing job getting drywall up, building a new wall, adding a ceiling in a space that had been neglected for a long while. They were prompt, efficient, and clean--and their work looked amazing--and they were honest, fair, and transparent on their pricing. Highly recommend!
