We recently had our bathroom renovated, and we couldn't be more pleased with the work done by VMJ Espinoza Contracting. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional.

I can’t even begin to express how wonderful it was working with VMJ! We hired them to do a full renovation on our master bathroom. Never an easy project since we wanted to continue to live in our bedroom through the project. They were timely, neat, courteous, super responsive, and did impeccable work! That shower tile turned out magnificent. They are so aware and focused on the little details. Love that they take the extra time to achieve perfection. The job was very contained within the bathroom. And the daily cleanup after was amazing. Unless you opened up that bathroom door you would never know that there was a construction crew in my house every day. Everyone in the crew is amazing. Truly became friends with them. I proceeded to hire them to do a full house renovation for my mom. Currently the job is 90% done and the work is amazing. She is beyond thrilled. We met Victor when we were looking for a contractor to fix our master bathroom. A previous contractor/plumbing team had left us with a leaking shower and toilet. Victor and team came in to fix the issues and also ensured the bathroom was up to code after some water damage. Victor and his crew did an excellent job rebuilding our master bath shower. A leak made it necessary to go down to the studs and Victor made sure all the studs were intact and square before re-sheetrocking. We were promptly informed of any problems and Victor made sure we were happy with the necessary slight changes. We appreciated the daily updates of work accomplished and the plan for the next day. Some wall painting was necessary and he matched the color perfectly. We would highly recommend VMJ for all remodeling work.

Once again, Victor and his crew knock it out of the park! We have a unique situation living off a shared driveway that was in desperate need of revival. We've used Victor and his team before for some renovation work inside our home - so we knew we were in good hands. When we found out that Victor also did driveways we were thrilled. As usual, his crew worked quickly & efficiently to remove what was left of our old driveway before laying a proper foundation. They came back two weeks later after the allotted settling time, and his crew laid the new pavement in about half a day's time! The new driveway is immaculate and just in time for winter. Victor and the VMJ team are responsive, honest and just as importantly, they do high quality work. I have used them for two projects, and I'd recommend them for both. One was the remodeling of a powder room. Owing to a customer mirror design, the removal of baseboard heating and replacement of a sink fixture, Victor had to work with a plumber, electrician and glazier to ensure the work was done correctly. There were no major surprises and any time a change was recommended Victor was quick to present all options. I also had him repair the eaves of a large section of our roof - a very technical project that required inserting baffles, vents and wood paneling. His work was amazing and the whole thing looks brand new. I recently redid my roof using someone else and regret not having checked with VMJ first. They are definitely among the best!

I used Victor and his team initially to fix an insulation job that another company had caused. Victor was so knowledgeable and honest that I wish I would have used him for the whole job. VMJ Espinoza Contracting came highly recommended to us by an architect/friend and we could not be happier with their services. The primary service that they completed was converting a portion of our basement into a functioning office, including constructing a window in the space, raising the ceiling, constructing drywall/framing of the space, adding a closet, and then painting throughout. Victor and his team were highly responsive, respectful of our ongoing life, and delivered in advance of a tight deadline. Victor came in on time and on budget and was highly communicative & transparent every step of the way. We wanted the project to be properly permited, which was not a problem for Victor as he is fully insured and licensed in Westchester and knows the building department team in our town. His team went above and beyond, even completing some additional work for us that was not originally included in the scope. We then went ahead and used Victor for some handyman work around the house and he performed exceptionally well. Victor and his team completed a full basement reno for us after some water damage. He is responsive and kept the lines of communication open with daily calls updating us on the progress of the project. His attention to detail is unparalleled and was a great partner for us in this project!

Victor and his team did a full basement remediation and remodel after we had some flooding. They took out everything, dried out or repaired the drywall, and fully redid the bathroom, laundry room, guest room, den, pantry, and office. They tiled a couple of rooms and did LVT for the rest; they painted everything; and they even built some custom shelves in two rooms where I’d always wanted some built-ins. His team was here every day for months, they were all so kind and hardworking, and I really appreciated that I could trust their opinion on how to make things work best. The final result is beautiful, and we get so many compliments on the space. After the basement went so well, we also had them redo the main floor bathroom afterward, which included changing the layout of the room. I really appreciated that Victor would always call or text with info, and that he did most of the coordinating with outside contractors for things like electrical and plumbing. He has a great crew, and I also really appreciated that he treats them with as much respect as he did us, the clients. We’ve already recommended VMJ to friends, and we’ll absolutely call on them again for future projects.

First of all, Victor as a person is amazing. He is very professional, courteous, extremely communicative, honest, thoughtful and responsive. We had an urgent matter and he was the only one who not only called me back but offered to help in a time sensitive situation. I was extremely impressed with his constant communication and how involved he was with the work being done and showed up to make sure everything was going smoothly and if we were happy. His workers are highly skilled, very thorough and pleasant to have around the house. They were NEVER late (actually would show up 15 min early and sit in the driveway), always cleaned up after the day and followed my request about being careful with the front door bc of dogs that I was comfortable leaving them in my house alone.

I have hired VMJ for multiple projects over the past 6 years - custom kitchen remodel, bathroom remodel, basement finishing, built in cabinets, floor staining and installation, door installation, and custom tile floors. Before VMJ, our experience with contractors lives up to the adage: time, cost, or quality - pick two. With VMJ, we found that we were able to get a high quality, skilled, and attentive crew who was always on budget and schedule despite a few scope changes driven by us as clients and surprises behind the walls.

Victor, also as a parent of young children, was particularly attentive to the safety needs any family would need to consider for their children. This gave us incredible peace of mind. There were many examples where he went above and beyond to make sure the home was going to be 100% ready before our move date, often meaning his crew working late into the night and weekends to get the job done.

On a separate note, we also asked our neighbors several times about VMJ's courtesy and consideration, out of concern noisy construction and workers would make them despise us before we even moved in. They all praised VMJ for their professionalism and said they worked very efficiently and quietly throughout the job.

Victor and his crew did spray foam insulation with fireproof paint in our attic. They also removed our old fiberglass insulation and came back multiple times to vacuum up the little fiberglass shards, including one extra visit on the house just to make it look nice for us.

They were always professional, courteous, thorough, and punctual, and they did a great job! The house is much warmer. I just re-hired them to fix some doors, and I’ll be writing Victor again when it’s time to repaint the upstairs. I’d refer people to them in a heartbeat!

VMJ performed a whole house remediation and renovation after a pipe busted in our wall and destroyed our house from top to bottom. Victor responded timely to our calls, took time to answer our questions, and his prices were reasonable. There were a number of COVID caused supply delays, but these were always communicated to us and the delays rarely slowed his team down since they would just work on something else. His team was always on time and polite. They also left their work area spotless at the end of every day. Their attention to detail and creativity has given us a house that we never thought we would have. VMJ worked with us for over a year because of the size of our project and we never had a problem. Victor and his team have worked on two projects so far in our home, and both have been excellent. The first was a complete gut and remodel of our master bathroom. The second was modernizing our family room/den, including reworking delicate wood moldings and trims.

We hired Victor and his team for a large renovation and remodeling project following a flood, which damaged much of the first floor of our home. Victor and his were BY FAR the BEST group of contractors with whom we have ever worked. The crew arrived on time every day and never missed a single day of work. Our job included removing load bearing walls, removing and replacing water-damaged subfloors, redesigning a kitchen, remodeling a powder room, replacing a main floor full of tiles with new wood flooring, etc etc etc. Victor and his team of professionals, including Mayker Electric and Ethan's Plumbing, discovered many preexisting complications along the way and corrected them all with ease. At the end of each day of the project, Victor reviewed the day's work with me and laid out his plan for the following day. Victor's prices were fair and accurately estimated at the beginning of the project. Unfortunately, COVID struck in the middle of my project and work was halted. The minute the Pause Order was lifted and work was permitted to begin again, Victor called to see if we were comfortable resuming our project. The crew took all appropriate COVID precautions and began where they left off. The end results are absolutely beautiful. My kitchen looks like it popped out of the pages of a magazine. We are so grateful for Victor's expertise, his skill, his attention to detail, his knowledge, his creativity and his workmanship, as well as his professionalism, his ability to precisely coordinate all of the various team members and his maintaining regular communication with us. Upon meeting Victor to discuss our renovation, we knew he was going to be our choice for contractor. He listened to every idea we had and his input helped with ideas we did not have.
We agreed on a start date of first week of November, his team started demolition on Veterans day, I remember this clearly because my husband stayed home to watch the fun, while I took my children out. Throughout the day I received pics of the progress and couldn’t believe how much they accomplished in the eight hours they spent there that first day. Complete gut was finished!
Upon walking into my home, I expected a disaster.....what I did encounter was complete opposite. His team was so thorough in leaving their work completely cleaned up, we were definitely impressed!
Victor’s team proceeded to show up every day for the next several weeks promptly at 8am, leaving only for a lunch break and back to work until at least 4 pm, but most days even later.
Each member of his team was great...polite, courteous and detail-oriented. Every night leaving their work space as if they were not even there, which completely made our daily routine of life not as stressful as it could have been amongst the chaos of a renovation.
Victor promised us a before Christmas completion, and his promise was fulfilled!
We could not be happier with his teams work, and we are completely in love with our new kitchen!
We have already informed him that we will definitely use him for any future projects we may consider, and highly, highly recommend him to anyone else that is in search of a contractor.

Victor and his team are wonderful to work with! First off, they do amazing work. Second, they are priced very fairly. Third, they are reliable and responsible, and super nice. I recommend them without hesitation. They offer a wide range of services - big to small. They have done big projects in my house such as a custom built bathroom vanity replacement or custom built add on kitchen pantry, to small projects like extending a hearth for my pellet stove, insulating and flooring my attic, and even hanging pictures and wall mirrors! They are great!!

Victor and his team were the ultimate professionals while demoing and redoing my bathroom. Top end craftsmanship, handled with care and precision all while matching the time frame promised. Excellent vendor who you would be lucky to work in your home.

We met Victor after he was called in to clean up a mess in our kitchen left by a previous contractor. From day one, we were blown away. They are fair, honest and the hardest working group of people you will ever meet. They take tremendous pride in their work and will do whatever it takes to get it done right and on time. If needed, they would stay late, arrive early and went above and beyond in every possible way.

They were back a year later to work on our bathrooms and once again were fantastic. All bathroom renovations should go that smoothly and quickly! We used an unusual shaped tile and Victor meticulously planned and mapped out the layout and carefully thought out every cut. It was even better than we had imagined. They are just amazing at what they do and are wonderful people to work with and know. If you are looking for a kitchen or bathroom contractor- look no further!

Helped me through a complete renovation on my house. New floors, new patio, building a brand new bathroom, and Victor also did a great job of coordinating sub-contractors, inspectors, and all the necessary permits to get things done on time and at a great price!

My experience with VMJ Espinoza Contracting INC. began after a recommendation from Jamie, my realtor from NestEdge Realty, when I purchased a condo in need of some serious renovation.

Prior to my purchase, Victor of VMJ came out to provide me with a free estimate for how much the project would cost and explained what would go into the project. He even offered suggestions on what to do for certain areas of the condo that I really didn't have any ideas for, my favorite of which was the Lazy Susan in the kitchen's corner cabinet.

After comparing VMJ Espinoza Contracting's estimate for the project to 2 other contracting company estimates, not only was their price the best by quite a bit, but it also included the most attention to details and an exact breakdown of what was included. Those factors, combined with the fact that my realty company was so confident in their recommendation, made VMJ Espinoza Contracting the obvious choice.

Once the project got underway, I was impressed by the professionalism of the entire team at VMJ. Victor and Kenia kept me informed all the way through and helped find any materials needed and provided receipts of how much extra materials cost so I could be assured that there was no upcharge of any sort. Also worth mentioning is how accommodating they were in working with my schedule any time we had to meet for something. As a relatively new RN adjusting to working overnight, that was certainly tremendously appreciated.

As the project was being finished up, there was an issue with the company that was going to install my shower doors. I spoke with Victor about it and he suggested letting his team take care of it. Not only was his quoted price far cheaper than my original shower door plan, but the doors in both bathrooms came out looking even better than I had imagined they could. The same applies to the custom-made staircase barrier that was constructed.

Victor also suggested a crown moulding in both bedrooms which really did an amazing job of giving my home a more upscale look. The materials look absolutely incredible, and as a bonus, VMJ installed a matching crown moulding in the master bathroom.

VMJ Espinoza Contracting took care of everything for my condo from ceiling to flooring, and I'm so glad they did. In the past, I've struggled to find an honest contractor who stuck to the agreed work plan and didn't charge extra costs while leaving out details that were discussed. VMJ was the total opposite - They stuck to the agreed contract and were kind and generous enough to upgrade parts of the project to really bring out the potential that my new home had. I have a tremendous amount of confidence in the work that was performed and I'm happy that I now know of a contracting company that I will certainly be returning to any time I need any sort of home improvements. Doesn't return your phone calls. Tells you he will do the job and just keeps you on hold. We confirmed with him two appointments he told us he was going to come and he never did. We lost 2 months on our remodeling because of him. Very disappointing. Did not even call us back to say sorry it didn't work out or I just came back from vacation. Very unprofessional
