I first met Joseph in the parking lot of the Dunkin Donuts in Groton, noticing his truck - I had just recently noticed that besides my 44-year-old roof starting to leak, the roof over the cathedral-ceilinged living room was severely bowed/dished, so I asked him how much it might cost to replace my roof. He said he'd have to look at it, so we made a date.

He came out when he said he would, and gave me an estimate, which looked quite good. I had been fearing close to 20K, but his estimate was under 10. So I said okay, and he gave me a date a few weeks away. He explained in great detail how they do the replacement, including sealing around the vents, and showed me what plants I should protect from falling debris. He also said that if he needed to replace plywood, that would be an additional $100 per sheet.

He showed up with his crew just before 9AM on the appointed day. They worked diligently all day, and were heading back down the driveway at 5. When they left I went all around the house with a magnet looking for nails and shingles and couldn't find a single one of either(!).

To deal with the dished section, Joseph personally sistered-in four rafters. He gave me a bill that was his original estimate, with a note that 12 sheets of plywood were installed at $110 each. I remarked that when he gave me the estimate, he had said $100 each. So he crossed out the 110 and changed it to 100.

Needless to say, I was very happy, and impressed with his honest dealing. But then, a couple of weeks later, he called me to ask if I had gotten the interior re-plastered where he had sistered-in the rafters. I said I hadn't, so he asked if it was okay if he came back to add some lag screws - he said that when he did the job, his supplier was out of stock for the kind of lag screws he likes to use for that kind of thing, but he just got them back in stock. He said there was no problem with the screws that he had used, but he would just feel better knowing that he used the ones he preferred. So I said fine, and he came out and added some new, beefier, lag screws to the rafters.

Joseph is meticulous and honest, with an eye for detail and a work crew that is diligent and efficient. He takes pride in the work they do.

The team showed up when the said they would and immediately got to work. They finished the roof in 1 day. I do not have 1 fear there are nails or waste in my yard because the team made sure they cleaned up. Funny, I had decorations on my back steps which were moved during the work.. i liked the way they staged my stairs better than I did!
