This has been a positive experience working with Verum. From the beginning of the project, the thoughtfulness of fixing this or that on my project, had been very refreshing. Dale & Andy saw right away what needed attention. I had a “big honey do list”, that never seemed to get finished. I can honestly say, these are honest guys to work with. The quality of their work is top notch. I am looking forward for them to come back to finish my 2nd phase of work. You can trust them to give you the price of the work, and you won’t get change ordered to death. They communicated any problems with professional care and always let me know beforehand how much they anticipate the cost being. Their care in how the work was completed was exceptional. They also scheduled the work very accurately. You won’t go wrong if you hire them!

Verum recently completed a large mother in law addition onto our home. We have never been through a building project before and were pretty nervous to take something like this on. Verum came over and not only cast a beautiful vision of possibilities for us, they made the whole process happen smoothly. We received daily updates and when things came up that were unexpected they communicated with us before moving forward. We were blown away with the Verum team and so grateful for their hard work and honesty. The quality of work is excellent even details we didn't expect they took care of everything. It's very clear that paying attention to details, working hard and communicating with clients is a high priority. We absolutely would and will hire them in the future.

Verum recently completed a renovation of my garage to include construction of a hobby room. The process they used gave me confidence the job would be done well. They kept communication open and responded quickly to my questions. The end result was a very high quality product.

We had an amazing experience with Verum construction. The whole team did a great job. We bought our home in Clyde Hill seven years ago and since then we wanted to change the massive Entry door and two other door and windows. Andy was very professional and finally after doing lots of research he found the perfect match to our expectations. And at the end we were really pleased with their job and looking forward to working with them in the future.

When a tree fell on our shop in Woodinville we called Verum to come give a bid to fix the damage. From the moment Dale showed up to give me a quote I knew we had called the right company. They provided the most detailed quote and were very honest about the process from beginning to end. I will say Verum is not the cheapest contractor we called, however they did the job so well and I honestly can’t tell a difference from my shop from prior to the damage compared to after the damage. I was also extremely impressed with the detailed schedule they provided. Each milestone was hit on the day they said and I could just refer to my schedule to know what was happening each day. If I had any questions I could send a quick text to the project lead Andy and he would respond immediately and thoroughly. I feel confident in the job they did and the warranty was an added benefit. I'm a bit slow posting this review but I worked with Verum several years ago on an addition to my older home to relocate laundry from the basement to a combination laundry and dog room on the main floor, residing and painting the entire house, and extending the existing driveway up to a new parking area near the entrance to the new addition that has greatly improved accessibility to my home. I had other items on the wish list as well and their team was incredibly helpful in helping me sort out my wants vs needs and setting a realistic scope for my project based on my budget. The addition has been a huge improvement to my quality of life, and Verum's design complements the original architecture so perfectly that the house actually looks like it should have been built that way in the first place. The entire Verum team was great to work with, trustworthy, and reliable. I have dogs and they understood and respected my dog-related priorities and were very conscientious and respectful of my dogs' safety and comfort throughout the entire project, which was incredibly important to me. I felt very well taken care of through the entire project. I would work with them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them.

Verum does amazing work. Very custom, detailed, and precise. Especially tidy work area, kept especially clean and no mess left behind. I was especially impressed with the how Verum construction cleans up and protect all property while doing the highest quality work.

After a disastrous previous renovation experience with another contractor who abandoned the job, leaving us stranded mid-construction, we needed a contractor we could trust to finish the job. We found Verum Construction. From our very first meeting with Dale to discuss the project scope and potential design, we could tell Verum was committed to understanding our vision and bringing it to life.

Dale was extremely accommodating with our multiple change orders and permit revisions. Our renovation was a tricky case, as we requested removing a load-bearing wall but wanted to avoid an obstructing column in the living room. Verum worked diligently to creatively install a huge 30ft support beam that opened up the whole space. Throughout it all, the cabinetry, materials, and meticulous installation work from Verum craftsmen was top quality.

Andy, the intuitive project manager who solved every challenge with skill and panache. There's nothing Andy can't handle - he's detail-oriented, has a great eye for design, and was endlessly cooperative throughout the process. With Andy's oversight, we felt informed and reassured during even the toughest renovation hurdles.

While some may balk at Verum’s rates, our renovated dream home proves you get what you pay for. Specially among all these contractors in the Seattle area, Verum Construction was worth every penny. Our experience with Verum Construction for our outdoor kitchen addition was positive. Communication was effective, and they were responsive to our needs. There are a few minor things that we would have like to have done differently but overall, our experience with Verum Construction was very good, and we appreciate their efforts in completing the project.

Working with the team at Verum was such a breeze! The team completely rebuilt my old cabins collapsing foundation in might I say, less-than-ideal weather. They completed the project as well as rebuilt the rotting deck on the back of the cabin. I couldn't be happier with how the project turned out. Amazing work done by Verum Construction. My husband and I could not be happier with our choice to use Verum for our home construction project. Verum built us a lovely covered patio. They were very responsive throughout the project, which involved a change of design to include conversion to a flat roof and adding a balcony. They were very flexible to work with and the crew, Thomas and Payton, were very diligent and respectful. Andy, our project manager, was always available for questions. The project lasted longer than we had expected given supply chain delays, but we are delighted with the results. I would highly recommend Verum Construction.

Our home is a 1960s rambler that was in desperate need of a kitchen remodel and opening of living area floor plan, Verum was recommended to us by several people and we hired them to take on this project. Andy, our project manager was timely, open to all of our ideas, and was able to easily implement each addition to our remodel as we created our dream design. Their designers were creative and precise and truly captured our vision. Our project was no small matter, they reframed our roof and vaulted our ceilings, built us a fireplace and created new windows in each area of our living space just to name a few things. They truly brought the outdoors inside which is just what we wanted. Through out our 14 week project they communicated with us well, responded to our requests, and picked up the pace when we really needed them to. Our appliances were ordered and ready, we had a set back with our flooring back ordered, but they were still able to complete our project in a timely manner. The overall quality of the construction is truly a work of craftsmanship. They are an excellent team of talented finish workers and ensured that we were happy with everything. There was an issue with the cabinets being drilled improperly and they promptly took them down and fixed them and brought them back perfectly. Each piece of our project was handled well, talked through and we had a major role in the entire process which was very affirming. We are so so happy with the end product. We cannot say enough good about the work done in our home and the respect we have for this company, and the mutual respect they showed us. DETACHED SHOP/GARAGE BUILD:

When you are looking for a contractor to work on your major or minor projects, and trust them with your HOME, MONEY, and DREAMS, there are a couple of key points of service that will make or break your relationship:

5. Professionalism

Verum Construction, and the entire team of employees, and their sub-contractors hit 100% of the mark.

We began discussions with Verum in late 2021 for contracting to build a detached shop/garage in the city of Bothell. After working with Dale Loukusa, their lead estimator, and going through a couple of bid revisions and subsequent negotiations, we signed paperwork in January of 2022.

There was a budget, a timeline, and a possible order of events for those metrics. We started construction EARLY!! on June 20th of 2022 and the race was on. From the beginning of the bidding process, to the start of ground breaking, to virtually every step of the way...the Verum Construction team was amazing to work with.

Our "General" or supervisor, Mr. Andy Wittenberg, was a joy to work with. He was always on time, managing the sub-contractor flow, and keeping us informed of any progress, or delay, as soon as he knew of them. He even did so during family vacations, as well as away time. Amazing customer service!!

When we wanted to see slight revisions of plans, or add to the project scope there was great workability, and an eagerness to help us see our vision. On that note we added quite a large "change order" to the last portion of the project and added a covered living space. We came to an agreement on price, with both parties wanting to see the project happen...and Verum Construction rose to the task. Even with the "change order" of good sized magnitude Verum Construction still finished our project within a couple of weeks after the estimated timeframe!! The project was pretty much finished around November 10th.

We are 100% satisfied with our working with Verum and could not imagine getting the results we did with any one else. We will look to them for any next major project, because they have hit the mark!

Six stars. This was a great experience and the finished product is something me and my family will enjoy for years to come! I recommend anyone looking for excellent quality, honesty and transparency -- to choose Verum!

I would highly recommend Verum Construction when considering a contractor for an outdoor patio. We had reached out to them after they completed a project nearby for a large covered outdoor patio. From the beginning, Verum was extremely professional and hardworking. The collaborative effort and adaptation to mid-project design changes led to the patio of our dreams. The Verum team was extremely responsive to our many questions and inquiries throughout the building process. They were extremely adaptable to mid project deviations. The quality of the work is terrific and has been positively noted by many. Additionally, we have had excellent experiences with each subcontractor used (Mike Dold with Koldson Electric and Evan with ProMax Water Heaters and Plumbing. Evan was able to quickly address a separate minor issue that arose while he was here finishing the contracted work.

Overall, we are extremely pleased with the finished product. The space has already become a place for our children to grow and enjoy in addition to a parental respite when needed.

The short version of my review is that I highly recommend Verum Construction Inc for remodeling and additions.

Dale, Andy and the rest of the Verum Team were great to work with. Prior to starting our remodel we knew enough and had enough of a plan to be dangerous but not enough to know what we wanted or how to make it happen. After several tragic meetings with contractors that ran the gamut of "hard pass" to "don't call me, I'll call you" we sat down with Dale from Verum. After a long conversation about what we were looking to accomplish I asked him what he thought. Dale laid out an idea, an idea that we nearly copied to a T in the long run, that took into account our goals for utilizing space as well as where we can grow in the future. I would learn that when they say they are a family company they mean they are a FAM-I-LY company. They understand completely how a family with young kids, teens and older will use space. That experience would shine through for the entirety of the project.

After a process, which we learned a lot from in finding an architect and timelines for blueprints etc, we came back to Dale with drawings in hand. As I mentioned before, utilizing nearly all of his ideas.

We had questions... a lot of questions about how does this happen and what about this other things and why is X better than Y? The questions were answered in stride. They were articulate and patient. My wife and I are both managers, planners and quiet control freaks so when I say they were patient, I mean they earned the title.

If you've never gone through an addition just know that there is a lot that goes into setting the stage before you even break ground, a point that Dale was great at helping me understand in spite of my nervous phone calls and emails.

When we broke ground and really got to see them in action I was always pleased with my interactions with them and their subs. Everyone was respectful and pleasant. My kids were interested in what was going on and appropriate time was taken to engage them. Not to the point of distraction rather it was evident that they understand families and they understand a child's interest. I never felt a moment of concern that my family's interests weren't being considered at every step.

As with any project there are changes, set backs, issues etc. It's unrealistic to assume that there wouldn't be. Whenever one arose Verum was quick to address it and were transparent with my wife and I. Ever respectful, patient willing to take the time to ensure we understood what was happening.

And now for the sentimental, personal note. For most of my childhood my family lived in rental houses. When that's your reality you learn to not get attached to a house because you're only a month away from the landlord upping the rent or deciding to sell it or whatever may happen. Even with the house that we added onto and remodeled, it didn't feel like my home. Thanks to Verum's diligence, understanding, vision, knowledge, humor and workmanship I finally feel like I'm home. I have a place that I look forward to building a full childhood of memories for my kids as well as a place of refuge and rest for my wife and I. I'll take this moment to mention that this is my 5th draft of this review as I couldn't quite find the words to describe my positive experience.

Now about that outdoor living space...

In short, I highly recommend Verum when considering a contractor for a home remodel or any construction work. Everyone at Verum were straightforward, hardworking, and highly collaborative people. I believe the result of my remodel shows the ability and product that Verum can achieve. See below for a more detailed description of my remodel.

Remodel Time frame: November 2020 - March 2021 (start to closeout)
Remodel Scope of work: (2) Bathrooms & Basement area remodel.
Project location: 1950s Seattle house

The basement area was just about completely unfinished and aptly nicknamed "the dungeon". We would only go down there to do laundry. Verum met with me, walked through my house, gathered information in how I hoped to remodel my basement and make it more useable. Verum gave great advice and worked with me to complete a very successful remodel.

The bulk of the work done for the remodel occurred in the basement. The foundation was cut and existing plumbing was removed/replaced/added for the bathroom fixtures. Windows were replaced throughout the basement, vinyl plank flooring was added, an exterior door was replaced, and walls were finished and painted. They also enclosed my furnace/water heater area and used antique bamboo sliding doors to make a custom closet so that the equipment was no longer exposed. Another custom touch was the wood shelf over the washer/dryer. The entire bathroom was added to a space that was previously just concrete. After tile/electrical/plumbing/wall finishing, the result of the added bathroom was incredible. The idea was to make it more of a spa type of space, and that was perfectly accomplished. See the pictures for proof!

For the main level bathroom, everything was demoed and redesigned with Verum's guidance and creativity. A hallway closet was absorbed to allow the bathroom to gain more space. A lot of tile was added and all fixtures were replaced. The main level bathroom transformed from what felt like a narrow hallway to a truly comfortable and luxurious bathroom.

Verum's hard work & talent made my house is a completely different space compared with the prior conditions and I would definitely work with them again.

We contacted Verum to design and build a covered outdoor deck. We had a general idea of what we wanted but Verum elevated the project beyond our expectations! Our new outdoor living space is beautiful and added so much value to our home. The whole process was super professional and communication seamless! Dale, Andy, Bryce, Thomas, and Chase ensured that we were completely happy with our finished project. We highly recommend Verum and would absolutely use them in the future.

We contacted Verum to build out our master bathroom based on several very positive recommendations on a local Facebook group. We are extremely pleased with the results! Dale and Bryce were very attentive and open in their communications. Dale was very upfront during the initial consult, and was careful to work within our budget. This made us feel very confident that there would be few "surprises" along the way.
Andy, our project manager, was fantastic! He kept the whole project moving, and everyone who worked under him, plus the subcontractors
did amazing work. Everyone at Verum made sure to consult us at every step of the way.

The subcontractors Verum used, specifically Mike the electrician and Evan the plumber were excellent and thorough. Everyone made sure to stand by their work.

We cannot be more pleased with the finished project. This is a room we've been dreaming about for years, and Verum helped make it possible.

Verum is amazing! They were not only professional but very responsive and clear with the whole process. My patio remodel looks amazing and I couldn’t be happier. Andy was great to work with, adjusted to changes I requested as the project went on and I plan to have them back soon to do some additional work. Very highly recommend them!

In February, I had work done on the home having the soffits all enclosed around the house. The crew was excellent and the work was well done, it looks so nice and a great improvement to my home. I will be having my home painted in April using Verum Construction. A great company with a professional, friendly crew.

We had Verum put up a Patio cover for us. Very professional, communicated well, and the project turned out great! I would Hire Verum for any other project in the future.

When searching for a company to redo my deck, multiple neighbors recommended Verum Construction. We have lived in our house for 16 years and had not needed or used a general contractor for repairs. I contacted multiple business and Verum returned my calls timely, set up appointments, and showed up on time. The project was done on time and it looks beautiful. We will be using them later this year for a bathroom remodel. Highly recommend!

My wife and I wanted a kitchen remodel since we bought our house 6 years ago. What started as a kitchen remodel turned into most of the main floor because we knocked out two walls, replaced two windows, added lighting, plumbing, and a gas range. Verum was friendly and thorough. The neighbors even commented on how efficient they were during their phases of demo and bringing materials in and out. The only thing that slowed us down was the discovery that we needed two steel beams to replace load bearing walls. Verum made short work of it but we had to wait for the structural engineer and the beams to be made. My project manager was an amazing communicator, either answered my call or called me back minutes later. It was like having some friends who knew what they were doing help you. I made some changes and added some fun things when I saw how well it was going, including some secret doors and hidden features, that Verum had no problem accommodating. They also allowed me some room to do some of the things myself that I could to cut down on cost. And finally the quality of the work was terrific. We couldn't be more happy with our remodel and how it turned out. It is our dream kitchen. I would absolutely use them again and plan on doing so.

Verum built our detached home office and did an amazing job. The final product was beyond our expectations and the quality was excellent. The crew remained communicative throughout the process and were open and honest when making decisions. They were extremely professional yet personable. We had zero glitches along the way in terms of the company and the employees. We will not hesitate to use them again should we have more projects come up.

Dale and Bryce at Verum are an amazing team to work with. We had to leave the state and had some remodeling done before selling, and a prior contractor did shoddy work, communicated poorly, and was all around unprofessional. We ended that contract and brought in Verum and they were exceptionally professional, effective, and reasonably priced. They were in regular communication and we never worried about miscommunications or other problems.

I can honestly say the folks at Verum demonstrated GREAT quality and GREAT value. We have given Dale, Bryce a variety of large remodel and new construction tasks on our 110 year old home. They always provide expert advice and care for us. New roofs, decks, soffits, custom built garage doors and overall restoration they nailed all of it. Wish we had more projects so we could have them at the house more often. Can’t recommend this contractor enough!

I highly recommend the professional and skilled talents at Verum Construction. They completed a two-room addition on our home and an outdoor living room, exceeding our expectations at every turn. They take great pride in their work and are greatly detail oriented, making sure the job is done right the first time.

They arrived on time and worked long days to complete the project in the shortest time possible. At the end of every day, they cleaned the job site, sweeping the floors and organizing the materials.

Because I work from home, I interacted with them daily. They were respectful, kind, friendly and helpful. My husband is a general contractor and is impressed with their skills and craftsmanship. They are proficient at framing, finish carpentry, cabinet installation, painting and siding, just to name a few. And whatever services they don’t provide, they have recommendations for skilled sub contractors.
