Upright Construction LLC

We hired Upright Construction LLC to finish our basement. When we used a local roof company they sent Upright to do our gutters. They replaced rotten fascia and rebuilt a rotten soffit box. We called them back this winter and they finished our basement ftom framing to drywall and painting. I highly recommend the fellows over at Upright Construction LLC.

Upright Construction did some guttering work at my parents' home about a month ago. Unfortunately, they caused a lot of damage to their metal shingle roof. After smashing the first shingle, they didn't tell someone about the damage and quit working from the roof, they kept damaging shingles nearly all the way around the house.
When my father and I met with Jay, the owner of Upright Construction, he offered to fix the damage and show up on a Thursday the following week. His crew never showed up. They eventually showed up a couple weeks later and completed some of the work they forgot to do but they didn't fix the roof like they offered.
A week or so after, two people representing Upright Construction showed up at my parents' home. They bullied and intimidated my 87 year old father and 84 year old mother. After threatening to put a lien on their home several times, my father paid nearly the full amount. It was an amount far less than it will cost to fix the roof. Despicable.
This business practice is not very upright, is it?
Given my parents' experience with Upright Construction, I would NOT recommend homeowners or commercial contractors using this company.

Jan. 28, 2018 UPDATE: My parents had a number of contractors at their home in October and November. They didn't have issues with the other contractors and they paid each contractor with a check made out to the appropriate company. Because of the damage caused by Upright Construction, our insistence that Jay live up to his promise of fixing the roof and our realization that he wasn't going to follow through, we were going to hold his check until their roof was fixed. James' loudly and aggressively threatened to put a lien on my parents' home if that happened. Then he demanded that any check written for guttering work be made out to his company to shield Upright Construction. My 87 year old father was bullied and intimidated into eventually writing a check to James' company to shield Upright Construction. It was a horrible situation to have happen to my parents. I think anyone who loves their parents would be outraged at how my parent's were treated by James and Upright Construction. As of the end of January, my parents still don't have a copy of the invoice for the work that Upright Construction & Guttering did on their home and their roof remains damaged.
To whoever posted the reply to my original review: I was clear that I was posting a review for the work done on my parents' home, not my home. My father never agreed that Upright's crew did not do any damage on their roof. My parents are elderly and they aren't used to being taken advantage of by contractors. They aren't computer and social media savvy so they would never post online reviews about their bad experience with your company but thankfully I can do it for them.
Given the response to this review as well as an exchange on Facebook, I've found Jay with Upright Construction very unprofessional and I would definitely NOT recommend anyone using Upright Construction & Guttering for even the simplest job. There are many reputable contractors in the area who can serve their customers (elderly or not) with professionalism and respect.

Oct. 19, 2018 UPDATE : On Oct. 9, 2018, my parents told me about a severe window leak they were experiencing when it rained. When the area around the window was inspected, the guttering was pulling away from the home. Also, the water running off the roof would go around the guttering and find its way behind the window. These issues were caused by Upright's shoddy work. The leak caused the finish to come off the interior sills of the window and stained the carpeting. These issues are a continued reminder of the extremely bad experience my elderly parents had with Upright Construction. To date, there hasn't been any effort to rectify any issues caused by Jay and his crew. They haven't even had the decency to apologize to my parents for damaging their roof which cost them nearly $4000 to repair.
