I called around and True North was the first company that picked up right away, answered all my questions, and displayed complete professionalism. When they came out to bid my project they were on time, followed through on the expectations they set, and did a fantastic job. I was very impressed start to finish with the quality of their work. I would definitely use them again!

I was pleasantly surprised by the women sales person. She was very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. I moved forward with the project of new sod and 4 tree install. Would highly recommend.

I was a little skeptical about asphalt millings. But couldn’t be happier with the results. After a summer of sun and rain it has really firmed up and looks great with a lot of compliments. Thank you True North.

We hired True North Contractors to grade my backyard. John came out and did a fabulous job. I did have a couple of areas that I was concerned about and Mike as well as Tricia (The owners) worked with me. I even had a tough last minute job they agreed to do same day! Josh and John came out and were phenomenal and did a wonderful job cleaning up an old garden area and making my yard look great! I am still waiting for my grass to germinate and had a little flooding with the heavy rains with no grass to help with the water. Gotta love mother nature! I will recommend this company. They are a great local company. When I need work done in the future they'll have my business. Thank you for the great work!

Wow! What a process! From first contact to consultation to workers coming to my driveway took less than 2 weeks! In fact I had an estimate within 2 days. The work took less than 5 hours. They were on it! They did a fabulous job redoing my driveway which needed to be redone after 20 some years! I highly recommend True North!

We hired True North Contractors to grade a 40'x80' pole barn section as well as put down Asphalt Millings in that area, a 40'x50' parking area, 330'x10' driveway area, and another 7'x50' section. Josh and John came out and were phenomenal and did a wonderful job. I did have a couple of areas that I was concerned about and Mike as well as Tricia (The owners) worked with me. Mike came out the following week to take a look at the concerns. He explained what happened and said he'd have John out the following week. John just finished up and completely blew my expectations. I would give True North a 20/10 if I could! I will recommend this company to anyone and everyone. What an absolutely PHENOMENAL local company. They stand behind their word and work and whatever I need done in the future they'll have my business. Highly, highly recommend them. Thank you guys so much!

True North was incredibly responsive and the communication during the project was stellar! Their crew thought through the project more than we had, and helped us get it done in a way that far exceeded anything we imagined. We will be recommending them to others, and they will be the first company we call for other projects we think they could help us with.

I talked to them in one week and they were over that week on a Friday. They came and inspected and walk me through every process. Everything was detailed out even on my small project. They were very fair in price and the person that came to my place was professional quick and extremely thorough! Will be using them again for many projects.

TERRIBLE! Beware! Ripped u off and cheats! Reporting to bbb but they aren't certified! All of our edging is falling apart and connected with pieces of wood! Sod was terrible- junk grass and full of bugs! He totally took us for a ride. Even the builder said he did a terrible job.
Side filled a hill - put full of sticks and broken branches and sunk in completely. Never seen a business so unfaithful and willing to fulfill a project!

We had a large dead tree removed from our property. From start to finish True North did a fabulous job. They were punctual, professional and exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend!

True North Contractors completed the footing for my outdoor horse riding arena. The workmanship was excellent. They were responsive to my questions and needs with this project. They left the work area better than it was before they came, leveling out my horse paddock and driveway, where the large trucks had to go through. They worked nonstop, to finish in a timely manner. I highly recommend True North Contractors, and couldn’t be more pleased.

Mike did my driveway and when he was done asked me to call him in two weeks or after a good rain so he could come back and finish it before it settled. My driveway had two large low spots which was the reason for having him come and level it out and add material.

After a good rain and a few weeks of driving on the new driveway, I set a picture to Mike and asked if he could fix the areas that were once again sunken a little. He was able to send a worker the very next day and they even added more material to the two low spots at no extra charge.

Mike was easy to work with and did what he promised to do and more.

We had site prep done for a pole shed. Work was completed in a timely manner and looks great. Great customer service and price. Mike was great to work with. I would highly recommend and will be using True North Contractors for any future work I need.

Recently had trap rock delivered to my new home and a parking pad put in! True North Contractors saved me so many hours of hand shoveling the rock and they executed my parking pad. Thankful and I highly recommend this company to others.

I was tired of getting class 5 delivered to me in Milaca that turned to muck. This company was advertising crushed concrete and crushed asphalt mixed and said they could deliver it for 150 dollars for 4.5 yards. I said i would pay that because the stuff i paid 125 dollars for 15 yards turned to muck and i did not want that. The first load came and i could tell right away it was the muck from the local pit. I said i did not want it. I was assured it would turn hard and i said if it did not i would be knocking on someones door. I hired them to pack it and i stayed off it for 3 days. That night it rained a little and i had muck. I sent pictures and was told to call Monday. I called and Mike said he could see it was muck in the picture and would stop by. He stopped by and said it was fine even though you could see it was still muck. He said his guy said i okayed it. Which i did as long as it got hard and did not turn to muck. He said i told his guy we have that at my work and i was happy with it. What i said is we have crushed concrete and asphalt mixed at work and i was happy with it. This was not that material. Milaca does not have that material and that is why i ordered it from him. Milaca has been out of crushed concrete for a month. He knew that is why i ordered it from him. Anyways he snickered and said his guy does not just make stuff up about what i said and more or less said i get what i get. I told him we could see my neighbor because he was my witness thru out the whole process. He was not having that. Didnt want to hear it. It was my tough luck i stuck 720 dollars into the same muck i had 165 dollars in last year. I will be taking him to court. I have the text messages saying what i would get and i have the pictures of what i got. This all could have been avoided if when the first load came and i said i did not want it they would have left with it instead of claiming how solid it would be and bringing me 2 or 3 more loads of it. I could have accepted being told they could not give me what i asked for. I would have rather gave 200 for him to say he cannot get locally what i wanted. I would have understood. To say that the muck can be seen in the pictures i sent and it is not right and then saying it is the best that is available in Milaca when he is standing in it is crazy! Does that mean if the best is mud out of the Mississippi go ahead and deliver it? Can you imagine getting a new tire mounted and it is not even half full of air and the tire guy saying " that's the best my compressor will air it up ". That is about the same logic. If someone cannot comprehend why i called him in the first place and the only answer they have when i asked why would i pay him a ridiculous price to come from North Branch if i was getting the stuff i can get for next to nothing down the road almost anytime is because that is what his quote was is crazy. Sure that is a answer. A answer without thought. I think they should pass a law that anyone in business has to pass some form of critical thinking class. Really.

I had hired True North to grade out my driveway. It was rough after they finished, I let them know that the driveway was rough and the washboard was back already. A couple of weeks later he sent a guy back out to grade the driveway out again. He got rid of most of the washboard but it was still slightly there & the 2nd time around made things even rougher. They were paid in full before they were even finished the first time, which was my mistake. Now I have to hire someone to finish what they were paid to do in the first place.

I tried two other snow removal contractors before I found True North. They were by far the best and were always timely and professional. They responded to any questions and their billing system is easy to use.

They did great work for me at a fair price. Workers worked very hard and communicated with me regularly to ensure I was satisfied with their work and they had a clear understanding of what I wanted. I will definitely be calling on them again for my future projects!!!!

I usually read but don’t post reviews (to my fault) but this time the effort is worth my time, because it is refreshing to know that there is still decency and honesty in construction business given the explosion of projects around Scandia MN lake shore properties as well as the vacuum in skilled labor, created by the financial meltdown a decade ago. Mike and his crew worked in the promised time schedule, listened to my requests, gave me input and suggestions - their goal was to make the customer happy. Replaced a 3800 sq f driveway, prepped a new 1000 sq f patio ready for pavers, made a 1200 sq f garage foundation, made 10+ stumps disappear and more. As more project develop I will definitely use them again.

Great job that was completed on-time and as promised. Great value for the work that they completed. I had Mike move and stack around 50 trees that I cut, brush hog about an acre that included up to 5 inch trees, and grind around 20 stumps. I am more than happy with the outcome, and will call them first for the next similar project.

I could not be more pleased with my True North experience. The team came out to prep, lay sod near the lake, as well as the landscaping rock. They were beyond hard working, passionate, and professional. True North has experienced quick workers who get the job done with fair pricing!
