If I could give negative stars, I would. I was in the process of purchasing a home in Trail and needed a roof inspection. I contacted Trail Roofing, stipulated that I was willing and able to pay for the service. I was told that an inspection could take place within a couple of days. The day after I called Trail Roofing, I received a voice mail from Jackie and returned her call. She stated that they would not complete a physical inspection but instead, looked at photos online and deemed that the house I wanted to buy required a new roof. I contacted a different roofing contractor in Trail who conducted a physical inspection and told me the roof is in good shape and requires repairs. I was quoted $1,260 for those repairs. Trail Roofing: you are dishonest!

The Trail roofing crew were professional, thorough and tidy. They were quick to schedule my roof in and had it all completed in less than then 3 days even over Kootenay pass in Creston. They were innovative and repaired and patched the parts of the roof with problems. Thank you for your excellent work, knowledge and superior skills.

We had a roof leak due to an old venting pipe. Royce and his team responded to the phone straight away and were able to stop by the same day and make a permanent fix. The the team was polite, efficient, effective, and a fair price for work done. I 100% recommend and will use them if we ever need more work.

After waiting a year for another contractor who was a no-show, I contacted Trail Roofing. They gave a fair estimate, with a quick timeline. They started the job when they said they would, and met their estimated time of 3 days for strip down and install. That was pretty impressive for our four separate roofs. Very quick and I considered good quality. They were safety conscious, kept the job site clean daily, and had a big and experienced crew for the job. I downloaded a WCB clearance letter which said they had WorkSafe BC insurance coverage. One of my concerns was poor roof venting which had caused ice dams in recent winters. I liked the vents they used, and a bonus realized the vents also helped in hot summer weather to somewhat cool the roof. I have no problem in recommending Trail Roofing.

We have a heritage house in Rossland that desperately needed a new roof. It was a really tough job and Jim and his crew did an excellent job. He went above and beyond to replace our roof and we are so grateful to him and his crew for taking it on and getting it done quickly and for doing such a good job with it. Thanks again! Erika Reinitz and Justin Cure.

From beginning to end a really excellent experience. Thanks Trail Roofing! Neighbors commented on how hard they worked. Definite recommend to anyone needing a roof done.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
