We are delighted with Tom and his crew, who did an outstanding job on our recently purchased home. New to the area, this is our fourth house in thirty years, and have met and worked with a multitude of contractors and sub contractors over the decades. None have come close to the professionalism, attention to detail and supreme craftsmanship that Tom and his crew demonstrated at this job site. They replaced our existing front porch with a much more magnificent structure and connected it seamlessly to our house incorporating an elegant yet mighty staircase, sexy cable railing, the ultimate in composite flooring and stunning cedar woodwork. Protecting this gem of a deck/porch is a newly constructed roof, connecting the main roof with a total roof replacement including skylights. The whole place looks to have been conceived this way, and now stands proudly fortified.
Our home is an historic one and is situated in a magnificent mountain setting. Tom’s renovation will ensure that this majestic, little place will continue to thrive from season to season. To say that they nailed it would be an understatement.

We contracted with Tom to build a trex deck on our new home. Once the work began it was consistent until done. His workers were professional, hard working, consistent, friendly and respectful. Tom came at certain intervals to inspect the work and of course to see the final job. My husband and I couldn't have been more pleased with the entire process and the final outcome. It was more beautiful than we could have imagined. We highly recommend Tom Madsen LLC...you won't be disappointed!!!

After many conversations, over a what seemed like an eternity , about replacing our very old cathedral ceiling we chose Tom Madsen LLC . This project to us was a monumental task to us, but I cannot say enough about the Professional and Personal service the gave us. Great knowledge and hard workers.They were so respectful of our day to day living during the entire project because they care.

Basement bathroom installation. Tom Madsen Llc is a top tier contractor in my opinion. Here’s why: quality of work, subcontractor management/coordination, communication, professionalism, cleanliness.
Our bathroom turned out great. The one thing that puts Tom and his team over the top is setting realistic timeline expectations and communication throughout the project via email and text. The icing on the cake was the cleaning crew he sent when the project was complete.

I don't have enough good things to say about Tom Madsen and his team of workers. He was easy to communicate with, professional and kept us up to date and informed on everything that was being done. We were extremely pleased with the quality of the work done and the finished product down to every last detail. Highly recommended!!

Tom came out on a Wednesday to do an inspection of our ceiling/attic framing damage so that he could put together an estimate for the repair. After being up in the attic for about two minutes, he came down and said it was too hot and he was going to need to come back when he could spend more time taking pictures. He said he would be in touch with my husband to schedule a new appointment. I thought it was a little odd, considering:

- it was late April, so it’s only going to get hotter up there
- doesn’t he do work in attics all the time?

But he’s an older gentleman, so I thought maybe he wasn’t feeling well and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. By Saturday, when we hadn’t heard from him again, I sent him an email asking when he would be able to come out and finish the estimate. I explained that I’m 36 weeks pregnant and was really hoping to at least have a timeline in place for the repair prior to our baby’s arrival.

He wrote back and said it was going to take at least 6 to 8 weeks for him to get in here to do the work after providing an estimate and that perhaps we should find someone else to do the work more quickly if that’s what we needed. I quickly assured him that we definitely aren’t expecting him to do the work in the next four weeks, that we just wanted an estimate and a timeline for completion in the next four weeks. I asked again if he could let us know when he would be able to come back out. Several days later, I emailed a third time, and this time he simply didn’t respond.

A full ten days have gone by since that initial visit. Ten days we have wasted waiting for him to make good on his assurance that he’d be back to complete the estimate.

It’s apparent he did not feel like doing the job, and I’m surprised and disappointed that he didn’t have the professionalism and courtesy to simply let us know. He wasted our time unnecessarily, both on the visit for the estimate that never happened and on the follow-up we did to try to get the process completed.

I unfortunately cannot recommend him to others.

Tom Madsen , LLC has done 3 major projects for us, the last being a total kitchen renovation . He’s a pleasure to work with. We were very pleased !!! His crew is professional and very polite. Would highly recommend !!!!

I couldn't be happier with the work that Tom and his guys completed. I will definitely use him again. He communicated throughout the process and made sure all went as smooth as possible.

I have used Tom for many projects over several years and he never disappoints !! I will never use anyone else !! The most current project was installing a new roof and as usual did a wonderful job, past projects were windows, internal house renovation including electrical and demolition. His team are very professional and their work is meticulous. I highly recommend Tom and his team.

Update: Tom lived up to his word. He sent a different crew to re-do the entire second floor mess of a spackle job that his other spackle guy created. This time, Tim and Mike, who are very capable and professional, did absolutely beautiful work - and his painter finished it off just as nicely as he did the first time.

This is how my ceiling looks every morning and night when I look up. If you have difficulty seeing the photo, it looks like a protruding scar along the entire length of the ceiling. There are many more areas in the three rooms that look like this as well. Some day we will have to pay another professional spackler to do extensive repairs because the guy he repeatedly sent to us for this job was beyond terrible. Other repairs that had to be done as a result of his crew's work, he followed through on and eventually sent someone to take care of, but for this very visible issue, he insisted on sending the same people two additional times and this is what we now have to live with.

We used Tom Madsen for Front Door upgrade/replacement. Tom took the time to meet with us on two separate occasions to go over details and give us ideas of styles and costs associated with. Once we decided on a door, Tom went over the planning details for installation and delivered on that promise. His staff was reliable and dependable and quality of work exceeded expectations. Very professional, neat and attentive to details. Would highly recommend Tom Madsen LLC to anyone looking to renovate their home!

We used Tom Madsen to carry out and oversee the installation of a new 'folding glass wall' for our family room and this was supplied by a specialist manufacturer. We also, engaged the manufacturer's approved installer and Tom's guys did everything else, from the structural preparation to the final finishing.

Tom's team did a great job and were punctual, professional and helpful in every way. In hindsight, I should have used Tom to carry out the entire job, as the 'approved installer' made so many headaches for us, that it would have been a far smoother job had Tom had full control. In any event, Tom always calmly provided us a simple, expeditious solution when the job wobbled, even though it was not in his remit to do so. In this regard, he really exceeded expectations.

Tom will be top of our contact list for the few future projects we have in the planning and I would recommend Tom Madsen LLC in a heart beat.
