Rusty did our manufactured home inspection in Flagler Beach. He provided good verbal communication before, during, and after. The written report was ready the following day. Every discrepancy was clearly described along with its exact location, possible impact, and remediation suggestion. Photos were included for all the visible faults. A general assessment of areas which did not require attention was also included.

Very happy with the inspection company for answering the phone and setting up the appointment so quickly. Met Michael at the home and he was explaining different things to me and was very knowledgeable. I definitely will use them on my next inspection.

The Home Exam provided a very thorough home inspection and detailed report. It was evident when speaking with them that they have a wealth of knowledge about what they are inspecting and what is a concern that needs to be addressed. I would recommend them for any home inspection - new construction or resale!

I would not recommend this inspector. We spent over $1000 on this inspection on the recommendation of a friend who is a realtor. We paid extra for mold testing. I told our inspector that I have a medical condition that makes me extremely sensitive to mold and to look for *any* signs of water damage throughout the home. The home was only a year old, so I think the inspector did a fly-through thinking there could be no problems. He must not have even used a thermal camera—which should be standard when looking for water leaks. The day of closing, I discovered a leak in the guest bathroom under the sink. About a week after closing, I started getting very sick. I was told in our mold report that there were “no elevated mold counts” by Mike himself. The inspector doesn’t even know how to read a mold report—he just reports what the third party company tells him to report (so you’re paying a premium for something he can’t even interpret correctly). Our mold report showed that we had spores of chaetomium inside the home, but none outside the home. Chaetomium spores are heavy. After a quick google search, I learned that chaetomium mold spores in your indoor air are a huge red flag for water damage. When I started searching, all I had to do was open the AC closet to see that the OSB board where our air handler was sitting was covered in water damage. Conveniently, no photos of the OSB board where the air handler sits are in my inspection report. I brought this up with Mike Chevalier and he never even replied to my email. So I’ve have spent almost $20k remediating a home while being extremely ill because of a lousy inspection. The inspector just simply didn’t even try to look because all of the water damage in the HVAC closet was evident and easy to spot. It didn’t even need a thermal camera, but had he used one, it lit up like a Christmas tree. I didn’t know I would need to babysit a professional, and in this case, I thought spending a little extra would go a long way and it didn’t. I also tried to file a claim with their “90 day guarantee” and it got denied. Another raquet.

No…I would not recommend this inspection company.
