One of the better decisions that we made was to hire Sunset Builders to build a room in our basement. We had three quotes prior to meeting with Rick from Sunset Builders. During our initial meeting with Rick, we explained what we wanted done. He proceeded to explain to us exactly how he would accomplish this and gave us a quote for the completed project. The build was flawless from start to finish. He started by pulling all of the permits (not everyone offered that service) and he proceeded to meet his time estimates while maintaining a high quality of workmanship. Each person working on the project was extremely professional and skilled.

The room was completed on time, on budget and met and exceeded our expectations.

See for yourself. Ridge vents they installed blew off right after being installed. Also, they completely missed a large section of trim. When I asked if he inspects the work when his guys are done he said he doesnt. Glorified handyman service that does very poor quality work and major lack of customer service.

2022-Sunset Builders finished our basement in our old house in 2015 and created an amazing transformation. When we moved to our new house, we decided to hire them again since we were so happy last time. Going above and beyond our expectations, Sunset Builders transformed our unfinished cold space into a warm entertaining perfection. We now have a 3/4 bath, a bar, TV space, music space, and 3 storage areas. Throughout the process, Rick provided suggestions which allowed our space to go from great to fantastic. We also had Sunset Builders create a semi finished bonus space within our very tall garage where we can work on bikes and skis. We are once again very satisfied with our final results and highly recommend Rick & Sunset Builders.

2015-We selected Sunset Builders to finish our basement after interviewing many contractors and getting quotes for 6 months. What stood out to us was Rick Martin's many great ideas as well as his price. As the process moved forward we were able to make changes to our original plan with either no cost or very little additional cost. We now have added an amazing 1,300 square feet of livable space to our home along with an additional bath and laundry room. If you are considering any type of remodel or build out, we recommend Sunset Builders.

We asked Sunset Builders to essentially gut and redo our master bathroom. It was in very rough shape and long overdue for an update. I wanted to wait a solid week after the services were finished before posting a review as I wanted the initial excitement over the new space to settle down a bit before making my comments. We were not looking for anything over the top or extra fussy; we simply wanted a fresh, simple style that was easy to both maintain and pleasing to the eye. Mission accomplished!

Rick and his team did a fine job and met our expectations. They answered all of our questions before and during the project in a very easy to understand way...not condescending in anyway. I also appreciated his attention to our budget and time expectations. We ended up going over a few days due to weather, but I didn't think that was fair to reduce the star rating for the review.

Regarding budget, Rick used appropriately priced materials for the project. He never tried to 'up sell' or suggest ideas that were outside of agreed upon expectations. This was exactly the type of relationship that we wanted, so I really have no complaints.

If you are looking for solid work, great communication, and competent people during your project, I'd recommend giving these guys a look.

We utilized Sunset Builders to replace a rotting patio door with a slider, Rick and his team was able to not only replace the slider but repair rotted sill and a floor joists. Even though a drain pipe to an upstairs bathroom was cut in the process, his team was able to make all needed repairs. We knew there was going to be some rot that needed to be corrected, after seeing the amount of work they needed to complete the additional cost was very reasonable. The ownership Sunset Builders has for their work was the reason we decided to go with Sunset Builders and it showed with the follow up calls weeks after construction was complete.

We hired Sunset Builders to help us build our house. Rick did a great job, was easy to work with, and very professional. His experience and knowledge was super helpful throughout the process and in the end we have a beautiful, energy efficient home that we love! We would recommend Sunset Builders to anyone looking to build or remodel.

I have done several projects with Rick over a span of 15 years. Has always completed jobs on time and within the budget. Looking forward to doing a major green project this year with him.
