SunRise Solar Attic Fans

I've been looking for a solution to a problem that I finally was able to solve with a SunRise Solar attic fan....but I don't have an attic!

Mine is a much different application: I have a 30'x50' steel arch building, AKA "Quonset hut", that is used to store equipment and other valuable items. Anyone who operates these structures knows how HOT they can get, especially in direct sun. It is not uncommon for the interior of the building to be 15 or 20 degrees hotter than the outside temperature...SRS fan to the rescue!

The deep corrugations of a Quonset hut did require a bit of a unique installation, but after consulting with Josh, I was able to use most of the components of SRS's gable fan for my application.

The install was easy, and the performance and results quickly realized. My building now has amazing fresh air flow, and the measured results show that the interior does not get much hotter than the outside temperature. The interior has not gotten more than a few degrees warmer, even in the midday, July sun.

I recently had a attic solar fan motor go out after 10 years of brutal hot Texas weather. I called Bill Keith at SunRise Solar Attic Fans to check on my options for fixing the unit. He was super helpful. I purchased a new motor and Bill had it to me in 3 days via U.S. mail. He also sent instructions on disassembly and reassembly along with a how to video which made the whole process super easy. I'm absolutely overwhelmed how good this fan works. I bought two, one for my house and one for my garage.

So first, in the summer my garage gets so hot its like a sauna in there, well over 100+ degrees on a hot days.
The immediate thing I noticed was that on a hot day, my garage was actually a little cooler than the outside, like walking into a shady area would be.

Second, in our house, our air conditioner almost never runs anymore. On a normal summer day I will set the house temp at 75, but with the SunRise fan running, I notice that the house stays cool and the inside temp never goes above 71 degrees. The thermostat never calls for cooling because the house is already cool. Even on extremely hot days, like in the 90's, the house never heats up anymore!

Last point, they are incredibly quite, I can literally not hear it running anywhere in the house. Masterfully built and assembled in America with a really nice warranty too.

I purchased the gable attic fan in 2010 and installed it in the peak of my living room wall (20 ft up). I live in Belize and it is HOT here. This fan is amazing. It blows all the hot air out allowing room allowing for the cooler air to come in. Because I'm in the tropics the sun is out from 6am to 6pm and this fan runs 12 hours a day, almost every day. Other than replacing the motor in 2017 it's all original parts, fan, solar panel. And in the tropics nothing lasts 11 years. But the Sunrise Solar Fan does. The only thing better than this fan is the customer service. I've sent emails and gotten replies within minutes. They even sent instructions on how to troubleshoot, etc. Really responsive with the help. Keep up the good work Sunrise Solar. I highly recommend this product.

Almost a year and a half ago I replaced two 500 cfm roof mounted, solar powered attic fans that had been installed by the roofing company that replaced my roof. I had the two 500 cfm solar attic fans installed at that time because my two hard wired, thermostatically controlled gable exhaust fans couldn't remove enough heat from my attic space during the hot summer days here in northern California, making my 1800 sqf house very uncomfortable unless I used my air conditioner. Even with the addition of the two 500 cfm solar units my gable fans would still run on days when the temperature approached 90 degrees and when the days were hotter I'd have to run the AC.

I replaced the two 500 cfm fans with two 1700 cfm Solar Sunrise Attic Fans and the results were incredible. Since I installed the fans, with plenty of technical advise from Bill @ Sunrise Solar, I haven't had the AC on once and my gable fans haven't come on even when the day time temperature gets over 100 degrees.

Because I used the existing roof penetrations and advise from Bill each attic fan replacement took me less than an hour and a half each.

Thank you SunRise Solar! Our home this summer has been so hot and stuffy due to the warmer weather. Our A/C unit was running constantly and I had trouble sleeping because of the heat. We have 2 attics in our home and one is above our bedroom and the other is on the side of our bedroom. I contact Josh and he was able to see our house from Google Earth and he recommended that I purchased 2 solar units. I purchased them and they were out to our the next day. Bill installed them and what I really appreciate is they recommended we get the fans that tilt and are on the back side of the house and you do not even see them from the front of the house. But what a difference they make. I noticed the first night how it was no so stuffy in our room and I even went into the attic and it was comfortable in there. I cannot recommend these enough. Another aspect I really like is that they are solar powered and require no electricity to run. Also they have a great warranty. Thank you Josh and Bill.

Sunrise Solar Attic Fans took care of the stuffy humid feeling upstairs on the second floor of our house. Even when it’s in the 90’s outside, the upstairs stays cool. Our air conditioner doesn’t have to work so hard to keep up. We love it!
