Sun City Roofing

Sun City came in the cheapest with initial quotes. $8400 (with tax) for a 14 x 24 garage and 960sqft home with a hip roof with one valley, and that price included removing the cedar shakes under the old shingles. Once the old shingles and cedar shakes were removed it turned out OSB was needed for the whole roof. I asked to the price given as I didn't have time to collect more quotes as it was supposed to rain the next day. My total price in the end was $14550. Over $6000 to put OSB on, I asked other companies to add putting OSB on the whole roof to their quotes (without telling them that it was already done, so that they'd give a number I could hold them to), and their quotes for the OSB and installation ranged from $1600+tax to $3000(tax included), less that half what Sun City charged me. I felt ripped off but paid it because I had agreed to it, Sun City claimed it was fair but it's obvious that they took advantage of the situation. (-2 stars)
A week or so later I noticed that there was gap between the shingles and the roof, and when I climbed up to look I saw that it was actually one of the plywood sheets that was lifting off. There was debris (little pieces of cedar shakes and nails) under it, that wasn't swept off prior to the sheet being nailed down, so the nails never properly engaged ( pictures attached). I hired another roofer to fix it. The other roofer recommended to get the company that installed it to fix it, and to be fair I'm sure I'm very sure Sun City would have come and fixed it, but at this point I had lost trust in them. Always check Yelp and reddit before hiring a contractor. Lesson learned.

Chris and his crew did a great job, were reliable, his prices were reasonable, and they cleaned up after the job was done. Couldn't ask for a better contractor.
