I had Stout Roofing replace my asphalt roof on my home 11 years ago. Recently I was having the roof and gutters cleaned and the worker advised that he had noted that there might be some issues with shingles above a skylight. They were slipping down.

I called Stout Roofing and Jake Stout came a few days later, inspected the roof and noted that the shingles had not been nailed properly. His inspection found no other issues. He then arranged for the repair of the shingles at no cost to me. Great to have a company how stands behind their work!

Be careful if you value your property. Had the roof done but was upset by the lack of respect for our belongings and landscape. We had pottted plants knocked over, they laid materials in our flower bed crushing the plants, broke wooden garden frames, and used our broom and rakes basically ruining the broom. Even when I put the equipment away, the roofers took it out and used it without even bothering to put it back. Highly disappointed in the lack of respect.

Jake and team did an amazing job replacing our roof! We were able to book the job for the week after getting our quote and felt it was a very reasonable estimate, given the state of our roof. The team was quick and courteous. We forgot to move our car out of the garage behind where they parked the dumpster, and they were so kind to send someone back out that evening to move it so we could access our car in the morning. The office manager, Amanda, is lovely and very helpful. We will be contacting Stout for all of our future roofing needs!

Definitely the best estimate and most knowledgable consultation. They started two days after we chose them, were done in less than 3 days, and did a great job.

We have hired Stout roofing to replace 2 different roofs for us over the year. We have been very impressed. Jake is very knowledgeable and helpful. They turned up on time always, did quality work at a very fair price, cleaned up properly and were friendly throughout. I highly recommend.

There were problems with our 21 year old shake roof. I was referred to Stout Roofing by a neighbor, and called them in late afternoon on a Thursday. By Monday roof materials were delivered, and they started work. It was a big job on a large tri-level roof. It wasn’t only the comp material I changed to, but a complete plywood underlay needed to be installed 1st. They were finished in 2-1/2 days, for a much lower price than competitors. The roof is beautiful. Amanda in the office and Jake, the owner, are wonderful to work with. Outstanding communication. Stout Roofing is obviously highly recommended. You can’t go wrong by hiring them.

We hired Stout Roofing for a new roof install in 2014. For 9 years didn't have any major issues but few days ago a large section of roof shingles on one side of the roof detached and fell down our roof with some shingles hitting the ground and most still perched on my roof.

When the roof was completed in June 2014, Stout had provided a 20 year warranty on the roof and my experience the last few days trying to reach out to them has been a very undesirable experience.

Some details:

1. I called the office on 6/5 Monday, 6/6 Tuesday and again today 6/7/23 and talked to a person on the phone each time. Explained my issues each day that I am an existing customer that is calling due to an issue with a roof still under warranty and wanted someone on the team to call me back to schedule an appointment. Each call I had to provide my contact info including name/email/phone number etc. (repetitive to collect each time but not big deal).

2. I also emailed the owner Jake without any response 2 times during this period on 6/5 and 6/6 (I tried 2 different emails since the last I communicated with him was in 2014). Back in 2014 had no problems communicating with Jake.

3. My expectation is that when a business hands out a 20 year warranty and say that they stand behind their work they should get back to a customer that is having an actual issue (within the warranty period) as soon as they can. Most contractors/companies I've dealt with either help setup an appointment when I call them on the spot or get back to me no later than 24-48 hours from my original call (not counting weekend time). I am writing this review right now on 6/7 Wednesday evening after I've had no response from them since I initiated contact on 6/5 Monday around 1 pm (at least 2 full business days) and called them back the next 2 days to check-in (6/6 and 6/7).

I have seen several positive reviews online regarding Stout roofing's work and I also did not have any complaints with their original service/installation (by the way their original communication with me when they were bidding for the job and during the job was excellent). It's the complete lack of follow-up to an existing customer that is having an issue that has me very disappointed.

Since I can't get someone from Stout roofing to call me back or answer my email, I am leaving this review as another way to point out to them that an existing customer is having an issue. I understand that things can happen in 9 years but at the very least they can:

1. Contact me and help me setup an appointment
2. Come by the house for an evaluation
3. Consult me on next steps of getting the issue addressed.

I consider the first step above pretty basic stuff for a reputable company. Why handout a 20 year warranty if the company is not willing to engage their customer after 9 years?

Stout roofing has been my reliable roofing company for the past 15 years. I am a property manager for single family homes and replace at least one roof a year and sometimes more! Jake and Amanda have been a pleasure to work with. Stout roofing prices are comparable to other companies, the communication for the project timeline is excellent. Jake has repaired many roofs without trying to sell me on a new roof if it was not needed. I trust them completely.

Reliable, honest, and efficient. This company gave us a fair price and a quick estimate without trying to charge us for things that we don’t need done. Highly recommend.

Edit to add: Jake and his team did a great job supporting me with a minor issue that was found during an unrelated remodel, several years after my roof installation. I am thrilled to have their support and expertise to make sure my home is well maintained.

Stout Roofing did a great job on my roof. Work was completed in the time promised and everyone was fantastic to work with. My questions were answered remarkably fast. It was a pleasure working with Stout!

Stout did a great job on our new roof. Jake was on time for our bid appointment and gave us a very fair bid. He explained what was included and our options.

His crew came out the day of, and started work immediately. Just a word to those working from home, your house will sound like World War III and an earth quake all in one. So don't plan on having any meetings or be very productive. It was LOUD!

Unfortunate for us we had water damage from improper installation 25 years ago from the previous home owner. We had to replace 70 plywood sheets. Jake informed us prior to the work and we could see how bad it was. He also worked with us on the price because it was so extensive.

After they were done there were a few action items left and those were taken care of promptly by his worker Jim, who was very nice and got them all taken care of.

Jake, Amanda, Marcos and the crew were all great to work with. I needed the roof on a large shed removed and replaced. The job was done quickly, on budget and with an excellent cleanup upon completion.

The quality of the work was horrible. Jake and his team claimed the work was finished when there were so many places were incomplete. He came back once to correct it, and didn't show up in our last appointment. And now one year later, I just discovered that some of the roof tiles were gone and some had warps. This is completely not acceptable. Stout Roofing is not standing behind their service. Their responses were always slow and didn't address the problems fully.

Stout Roofing - you did a wonderful job installing our new roof. The estimate was received promptly, the job was done efficiently and the area around the house was all clean when done. The roof looks great!
