Cobalt exteriors took our deposit in June of 2022 and never did work. They scheduled a date to start work, didn’t show up and then had weeks of unresponsiveness from Kevin (the owner). When they finally called us, they acted as if nothing had happened. We voiced that we weren’t pleased, and Corbin (the owners son I believe) simply hung up on us. They wouldn’t answer our calls or emails. We never heard from them again and never received a refund of our 3500 deposit. The BBB profile for this business shows they have done this to numerous customers.

I contacted Cobalt regarding a siding repair that was needed after our roofer broke a couple of the panels and did not repair them. They were responsive and the owner actually came out to complete the repair and did not charge us. Terrific customer service in this day and age.

We were very happy with the services Cobalt provided. They did significant repairs to our chimneys, which turned out to be far more damaged than we thought at the start of the project. They did a great job in replacing the damaged sections and sealing everything back up to look nice at the end. My only small complaint is that the caulk they used to seal siding and the trim cracked in places relatively soon after install which we had to remedy.

We just had a lot of work done to our house by Colbalt Exteriors. From the first call and everything in between, this company is legit! We hired them to replace our deck, front porch, soffits, fascias, a couple of windows, our sliding glass door, and exterior paint. The quote was very clear on what materials were being used and what the scope of work was going to be. Porch replacement: Had a great experience with this company - special thanks to Lisa, Ryan, Kevin, Corbin, Tanner and Chase. Lisa responded immediately to an on-line request for info - friendly and professional; Ryan worked on estimate and had it ready before he left. Job was scheduled right away. Company owner Kevin came out in person to deliver the trailer for debris. When work was complete, Corbin spotted a wayward plank used and Tanner came out to replace it. Appreciated the way I was treated by this team. Located in Woodinville but team members came all the way out to south Seattle to help me with my project.

Cobalt exceeded our expectations throughout the entire siding project. We were instantly met with a friendly response from their team after we inquired, then met with the owner who scoped out our job and quickly submitted a bid. Some random thoughts about what I loved: they are incredibly quick to respond and communicate throughout, leaving no doubt about where we were at with the project. Communication is huge for me. They were great from start to finish. There were some delays due to products being delayed, Covid blah blah blah, but they were sure to keep me informed along the way. I change my mind about a design mid project and they had no problem re-doing it for me. Oops! Super friendly staff and owners. I highly recommend!

The Cobalt Exteriors Team delivers excellent service. In 2021, Cobalt resided my garage, installed a new door and window and painted my house. The big project of 2021 was an engineered deck approximately 22 feet in the air which required a crane to lift one of the support beams.

Their scope was detailed, the fee on all the projects was reasonable. They were the low bidder on all the projects.

Best thing is they stand by their work and don't hit you with change orders.

Following a hard rain, water began dripping from 2nd floor bedroom ceiling - source of leak needed quick identification and correction. Cobalt Exteriors fortunately was installing a new roof to a neighbor's house. Cobalt Exteriors, while continuing to install roof, inspected our roof that afternoon, determining source of leak (missing ridge tiles), made same-day temp repairs, provided estimate for replacing all roof ridge tiles and made permanent repairs within a short period of time. All Cobalt Exterior Team Members were 4 star quality, professional, personable and provided detailed follow-up.

Kevin and his crew were truly awesome. We basically rebuilt half of our 1933 home. We had a structural mover lift the whole house up so we could replace the foundation, then we got a new roof, then new siding and windows. We had to special order two windows and Kevin was able to wait for us to get them installed, but then sent a siding crew out pretty promptly once we were ready. We wish we had had Cobalt do our roof too!

Kevin came out for our site review and told us his concerns and how we could help his crews do their best work and keep costs down. Our property is steep hillside, and we had a lot of mud from the foundation excavation. We had stripped the original cedar siding and the 1980s aluminum siding and replaced the windows ourselves, and Kevin was helpful in guiding us in how to do it all properly to minimize how much his crew would have to redo.

The original Cobalt guy who came out for our quote even caught something the roofers had messed up! Kevin noticed one of the new basement windows was cracked under the sticker. These were seemingly small details that had nothing to do with what we were paying them to do, but they noticed and pointed them out so we could get them corrected. This was huge for us with such a massive project! Their attention to detail was reassuring.

The Cobalt crew (of 8!) came out and got to work early enough to not work until after dark to put in an 8 hour day. Our roofers from another company frequently didn't show up until noon and worked until 9pm, which was really obnoxious, so we appreciated the early start time with Cobalt! They basically had two guys on each side of our house. One guy putting up siding and one guy cutting and caulking. They were the most efficient crew I've ever seen! Even though they worked quickly, the work they did looks beautiful.

Our back door had to be custom made, so it wasn't ready when the siding was finished. We knew this was going to happen going in, as Kevin was fantastic about communicating everything with us. When the door was ready and delivered, Kevin and another guy came out to install it. It's nice to work with a company where the owner is directly involved in the work and makes sure things are done correctly and professionally.

During the few days of work (two full days with an 8 man crew, plus three guys for a few hours on a Saturday morning to finish up the details), Kevin came out personally to check on progress and make sure we were happy with how things were going. Our whole experience with Cobalt was such a relief after dealing with the disaster that our roofing contractor ended up being! From start to finish, Kevin and Cobalt were great to deal with! I can't recommend them enough. Truly.

This crew, lead by Kevin has gone above and beyond the call of duty in every aspect. Let me assist with a breakdown of how my experience went:

The reach out was professional and scheduled for a first meeting. We discussed options for new siding and we gave a handshake to seal our working relationship. Within that week and work started in winter conditions (rain, cold, dark).

During demo we ran into our first snag, no layer of plywood under the existed under the current older cedar. Kevin laid out options, and we agreed to add this to the work list and materials showed up within sort order. This showed the responsiveness, prowess of the craft, and ability to handle any issue at hand.

The rest of the job finished in short order and ahead of projected timelines. A few items on the site became damaged during the demo, but, Kevin replaced them himself. It is that sort of commitment that is attractive to any future clients. I would recommend this group over all others.

Now, almost months later, I text him after out of the blue on Sunday with a plumbing issue. This issue could require cutting into the siding. I asked for him to give me a call when we had a moment, he meets me straight on with a call back on potentially his only free moments off this weekend.

Kevin and all parties he work with are as professional as they come. I knew I made the right call going into business with him and I do believe his word is good. If you handshake on it, he will stick to it. This review is part of me living up to my agreement with him. He shook on standing by his work, and he has continued to earn nothing but praise.

Cobalt did a wonderful job residing my house and replacing my gutters. Their installation of James Hardie siding is superior with all Hardie products including Hardie wrap, touch up paint, and James Hardie approved color matched calk. Kevin was easy to work with and his suggestions were top notch. He added beautiful vents and trim around out garages and windows that really gave the house an updated look. We would not have had such a nice finish without his suggested improvements to our home. We bought our house new in 1996 and Cobalt not only made our home look new, they made it look new in 2020! Cobalt replaced some of the cedar exterior siding on our home in Kirkland. I hired them because their bid was competitive and clear. Kevin did a thorough job of reviewing the house and submitted a clear proposal.
They started the job a few days later than originally expected but Kevin communicated well through that. The guys doing the work were professional, fast, and did a good job cleaning up at the end of the day. And the quality of the work was very good. There were only a few small punch list items that they took care of quickly. They actually finished the job sooner than expected. Great quality of work and great communication. This outfit does not cut corners, uses top quality materials and methods. We had some unexpected changes due to some shortcuts in the original construction, and Kevin presented the alternatives and revised estimates. Although the project expanded in scope, the crew stayed on it, scrambled to get the additional materials and even worked over the weekend to make up for weather and project expansion delays. The final outcome was outstanding, way better than we had expected. The crew even took the time for a couple of custom special requests that really made things nice.

Cobalt Exteriors did a wonderful job on our recent exterior renovation project. They replaced our roof and installed Hardee siding, gutters, downspouts, two windows, a front door, and two sets of hand rails. They also removed a wooden front porch that was in bad shape. Cobalt did all of this work at a very fair price in comparison to the other quotes we received. We also appreciated they could do all of this work, instead of having to hire out other contractors for say removal of the deck or installation of the front door. Once the work started, Cobalt was excellent about keeping us in the loop and phasing the project so things like the dumpster and portable toilet were on site for as little time as necessary. They kept a clean worksite and all of the craftsmen (and craftswomen) were professional and timely. Cobalt is a customer service oriented company who made sure we were 100% happy with the end result. The beauty of the final product speaks for itself and should give us decades of peace of mind that the exterior envelope of our home is in good shape.

This is our second time using Cobalt, two years ago for our siding and now our roof. Once again we found their service to be outstanding. Their crew was quick, respectful, and invited us to check the progress several times while working. They found and fixed some pre-existing issues and our roof now looks brand new - and safe! So I had a new roof installed about a year and a half ago, and had a leak this morning during this massive amount of rain. I called around 7:30 am and got a call back within 15 minutes. Turns out, the welding from the manufacturer of one of the vents had broken on one corner, but I had someone out to help making the drive from Woodenville to Tacoma in very prompt fashion (as prompt as one can get from Woodenville to Tacoma) to make repairs. They've taken care of me and been very responsive through the whole process, and I appreciate the way they do business.
