I’’m not one to leave a lot of reviews but I had the best experience working with Stash Construction. They communicated clearly, were wonderful dealing with my insurance and their workmanship did not disappoint. Very relieved to have encountered an honest, hardworking contractor.

I can’t recommend Stash Property Restoration enough! From the moment we reached out, their team was professional, responsive, and incredibly knowledgeable. They walked us through every step of the process with patience and clarity, making a stressful situation feel manageable.

The quality of their work exceeded our expectations—they were fast, thorough, and paid close attention to every detail. Our property looks even better than it did before the damage. On top of that, the crew was respectful, on time, and left the place spotless.

If you’re looking for a trustworthy, skilled, and compassionate team to handle restoration work, Stash is the one to call. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again or refer them to anyone in need.

We had the pleasure of having Anthony Ahnefeld getting a job completed through our insurance company. In previous instances like this the whole thing was a nightmare. Anthony was able to handle everything with our insurer and get the job approved and completed in a timely manner. 10/10 would recommend.

Stash completed a project at my home. They were very professional and I got a great end result. They worked with my insurance company, and I was able to get my house restored in better condition than what I started with. I can’t recommend Stash enough.

I have used Stash as a great resource for my clients. Being in the Real Estate industry, there are many times roofs need to be replaced due to previous damage that isn't identified until inspection . Stash is always prompt with addressing my clients needs, working efficiently with Insurance companies and delivering quality work every time. Their estimates are always very thorough with both verbiage and photos, which really helps the clients have a clear understanding and peace of mind. The office staff I have dealt with (Kristy & Kristina) are always so polite and quick to respond to anything I need. One minor setback that I want to note- sometimes depending on the insurance company, it could take several weeks to really get the ball rolling. I know this is out of the control of Stash. However, worth noting to clients up front or when referring their company.

This is an honest and factual review…. I had minor roof damage that was weather related and the repair work was covered under my insurance. Keep in mind, it was a small roof repair job with less than $1500 in damages. Stash Construction was on my Insurance Company’s roofing contractor’s list and so I decided to give them a try. Freddie was sent by Stash as my estimator and he assured me they would be able to do the work in 3 weeks and that he’d send me an estimate. Instead of an estimate telling me their cost I received a 5 page contract followed by a text from someone named Kristy telling me to sign the document as quickly as possible. The first paragraph in the contract noted that their estimates are not free and if I didn’t choose Stash to do the job I’d have to pay $200 for their estimate plus an additional 2% of whatever they estimated their final cost to be. This agreement was required even though I wouldn’t know their final estimated cost until after they examined the roof. The contract was loaded with legal jargon that would have allowed them take serious advantage of me financially and possibly take legal control over my house. The contract was like me signing over a blank check over to them, it also gave them exclusive rights to negotiate and make repair decisions with their Insurance company without my input or agreement. They demanded to be listed as a payee for my insurance payments and that any and all checks should be mailed directly to them. They also stipulated that in addition to paying my insurance deductible to my insurance company, I had to also pay Stash an amount equal to the deductible and depreciation cost of the roof. They had the audacity to state that the repair work didn’t have to start for 3 months and could take up to 365 days to complete and that I (as the owner) would have to pay a penalty of 18% for any delays that occurred. All of this for a very minor roof repair job, how ridiculous! After reading through their ridiculous contract I immediately knew that they were a bunch of crooks attempting to take financial advantage of me, an elderly single woman and senior citizen. I reported them to my insurance agent and hopefully they will investigate and remove Stash from the roofing repair companies recommended list if this is their standard practice. Stash Construction is a danger to the community, especially to single women, elderly, and anyone that appears vulnerable. Be wary when using Stash Construction or better yet, do yourself a favor and avoid them at all costs.

By the way, I ended up finding a highly rated, efficient and honest local roofing company that came to my house and gave a free estimate on the same day, they returned 2 days later and completed the work immaculately within 2 hours.

I have to say I was a bit apprehensive as Stash completed another insurance job for me many many years ago. I did have issues with the foreman on that job. However, this experience was so different for me, and I am very pleased. Anthony G. did a marvelous job on my floor, very friendly and easy to talk to. He communicated with me the entire time. He was very professional and addressed me with respect. He cleaned up each day and I really didn't have much to clean after he was gone for the day. He even took the time to help me find the cleaning instructions for this new floor. I do not remember the name of his helper unfortunately, but he too was a very pleasant and respectful young man. I feel you do have a diamond in the rough here as so many people no longer have such a strong work ethic. I work from home, and I was concerned about the level of noise this might have. Anthony and his helper did as much cutting outside as they could. I never really had an issue with the noise which was great.

They cut ALOT of corners and took forever to get the job done. I have had to have 4 of my cabinets fixed because they weren't on correctly, the floor in my closet for my crawl space was not glued down and the flooring came off as soon as the plywood was picked up! The didnt caulk everything they needed it. And I keep going on and on but won't!

My family chose to go with this company to rehab and fix their bathroom. The company had various mishaps including ordering wrong flooring, cabinetry, sink, etc. My family has been living without any way to shower (the bathroom being worked on has only one full bath). There are also large boxes of the bathroom fixtures that the company ordered, but couldn't install due to the lack of floor tiles which was their mistake. This has been going on for months on end and my family has had to bath using a sink in the basement with a bucket. Recently the company said they could install the toilet. There was also an issue with parts for the toilet. They had to order new parts for and instead of re-capping or attempting to seal the issue with the piping or toilet flange, they just left it. Sewage smells are just seeping through the house even with the bathroom door closed. Causing my family to develop respiratory issues, headaches and general brain fog. I'm not sure how this is legal, but this company is a joke and if it was my decision I'd sue. Please either fix your company or close down until you can get your shit straight because you're ruining the lives of some of your customers and you should be ashamed.

Customer service was outstanding. Work was exceptional. The stash team made dealing with a tree falling on my home a lot less painful, from dealing with insurance to completing the job. North West Indiana is lucky we have a contractor like Stash property restoration.

This company made our project so seamless from start to finish. Josh is who we dealt with. From customer service, communication & the actual scope of work. The quality of work and level of experience was very evident. Would definitely recommend them with confidence to anyone and will be using for any future needs.

This company took it upon themselves to use the money that was paid to them by my mother's insurance agency to do what they thought was needed as far as what she needed verses what was filed on the claim per insurance claim. Fraudulent. If I could give 0 stars I would

Stash did a fantastic job on my parents house after it unfortunately catch fire. I want to thank Brock and his crew for everything they did for my family.

Stash replaced the flooring throughout my single level home in Hammond and also tiled the shower area in my bathroom. The end result was a decent looking job for both the flooring and the shower tile.

I'm out of state and they took it upon themselves to chose a floor board and trim that does not match the rest of the house. They accepted the job and then I had to wait over two months for them to start, which I was NOT warned about beforehand. If they had been up front with me I would have gone with another contractor. Once the job began I would periodically check in with them for an estimated time of completion, this was met with false deadlines over and over again. The foreman would just talk as much as possible and rattle off multiple excuses, it was not a professional experience. I was not pressing for the job to be complete, just needed to know when it would be done so I could move on from the three month saga and schedule other work in the house. It took about another month for them to complete the bathroom job after they neglected to complete the job to what was initially agreed upon.

Do yourself a favor and find a professional contractor.

Stash Property Restoration is a fantastic company to work with. They completed our repair quickly and excelled at communication as well as being very flexible with our schedule. The professional work done on my home certainly exceeded my expectations. The project manager Peter Martin also went above and beyond throughout the entire process and went out of his way to make sure my home received what it needed. I will 100% contact Stash first for the next project or repair my home is in need of. I can’t thank them or recommend them enough!

Quality of work performed in my home by Stash construction was top notch. Job foreman Scott was awesome to work with he and his entire team showed great respect for my time and my home. Scott, Ron,John and Jorge are highly skilled professionals and took real ownership of their work. Providing excellent quality and paying close attention to every detail.

Could not be happier with the turn out of our home remodel! After a very stressful insurance claim, Craig and Scott made the best out of our situation and dealt with our insurnace compaony for us (which made our lives 1000x easier) 100% would tell anyone to use Stash.

They rebuilt my home after a Fire. They did great, quality work. They were responsive and answered my questions and were able to help me through a very tumultuous time when I was dealing with a lot at once. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs work done following a disaster because, trust me, it's not something easy to deal with.

Peter and Josh from stash construction are the best. Josh was working on a family property that was damaged due to fire, he showed me much compassion during that process as I did lose a dearly loved one during that fire. I was so happy with them so far I had an estimates done on my personal property also. Peter came out and went above and beyond to get me what I needed to move forward with business. I will never use anyone else. These guys are top notch, professionals, thorough and just over all pleasant to deal with. I never experienced this level of restoration and work on a property, they spoke to me in laymen’s terms and made things easy for me to understand and digest. The estimates were easy to read and understand, I really feel great about the money spent and that I got good value for what I paid for. My Uncle is a retired electrical engineer for Chicago Board of Education and he said they were using good material and doing a great job. They’re not even finished with the property and I’m confident I’ll go right back to them for the next one. Recommended first up on State Farm list of contractors and I don’t regret going with that very first one. I love these guys and I was happy to pay them and will be happy to use them again in the future. You have to go to stash construction for your next project. I’ll be sure to update with before and after pics when they are finished…

My anxiety level was instantly lowered when Mike and J showed up. Talked me through EVERYTHING, they backed up everything with the measurements and data. Return visit to check drying process etc was prompt . Can't recommend enough .

First off.. this company does a very poor job on roofing and steps...talking about restoration...WHAT A JOKE...a bunch of blind men can do a better job than this company...taking advantage of SENIOR CITIZENS and don't let it be a woman homeowner...they figure a woman doesn't know anything...if I own this RIDICULOUS COMPANY everyone there would be FIRED...this right...CLEAN HOUSE and bring in more skilled professionals

This was not a big job…. The fire occurred on June 10, 2023…. Stash only responded to us only when we contacted our insurance company to find out when Stash might start the job. They fitted us in between other jobs. We always had to call them to see when we would be scheduled. Sometimes they didn’t show, and we had to call them to find out when we would be rescheduled. The Forman Anthony always answered his phone, but was vague about dates and times
The insurance paid appropriately $14,450.00 for our damages to be repaired… we think the job was not that great!! Poor finishing….. always in a hurry to get it done
The job was finished the end of September… final payment paid October 5th. They sent us the invoice the day after completion
They don’t like to wait for their money though ….. we really don’t recommend this company if your repair or job isn’t big enough for them to get it done in a timely manner

Stash construction did a fire restoration/remodel for me and my family last year. This company does not cut corners and will go above and beyond to meet your needs! Thank you Stash I’m so happy with my new home:)

Had our roof replaced and new covered gutters installed. Roofing team was on time and professionally covered front and back decks and grounds before they stripped off our old roof. They had a large crew who all functioned well and were done and cleaned up in one day - and you would never know they were there other than seeing an obviously new roof. They also used better underlayment materials, better skylight, and better vent pipe flashings than other bidders. Two days later the gutter installers came and performed at the same level removing our old gutters and installing larger gutters with a new gutter guard system. We had asked for bids from three companies and Stash was the best price by far for the materials and systems we wanted. We could not be happier with the value and quality we received from Stash. Everything went exactly as promised by the company representative.

You probably shouldn’t set appointments for customers who you know are looking for a roof repair if you stopped doing roof repairs a couple years ago. Wasted my time when I could’ve hired someone else.
The issue isn’t that you don’t do repairs the issue was your appointment scheduler doesn’t know that you don’t do repairs and made an appointment with me for no reason. Anyways I did get the repair I needed with another company.

Stash did a complete roof replacement for my townhome due to hail damage. The whole team, start to finish, was timely and professional. I was very happy with Neko who did the initial inspection, confirmed there was damage and coordinated with my insurance company. Anthony and his roofing crew were the best! My roof looks great and was completed quickly. They did a great job of cleaning up as well. Good communication all the way around! I highly recommend Stash.

Their a great company to have around. Clean cut after a clean-up its like the hous was just being put up and no one lived in it. If you need and have any kind of damage due to natural disasters i would most defiantly recommend these guys with no compliants.

When I experienced ice dam damage, I was beside myself in panic mode. I didn't even know what an ice dam was. The damage caused was a nightmare. Stash was there from beginning to end meeting and having multiple discussions with our insurance adjuster. I am not the easiest to deal with, and everything is a big deal when navigating through the unknown. Stash was patient and caring, talking me off the ledge when needed. I couldn't ask for a better outcome and am beyond happy I didn't have to handle the insurance company alone! I highly recommend Stash!

What can I say, Jonny, Chad, Luis, and Adrian (and others whose names I don't know) all did a fantastic job on getting my place cleaned up and rehabbed/remodeled. The flooring, the painting, and the new bathroom look absolutely fantastic. Highly recommended!!!!

They have a storage rental in the back. We had to use it for 3 1/2 months. They are inside concrete units. The problem was the very first day we brought stuff to our storage there were NO LIGHTS on. Bobbie turned them on for us, but they did come on in our hall. When I asked her if they can fix them she told me she’s NOT an electrician. I complained every time I went. Call the owner and left messages for him to call me. He never returned a call and was conveniently never there no matter what time I called! The only nice person in that place is the guy that answers the phone, but he don’t know a darn thing that happens in that place. Bobbie is the rudest most unprofessional person I’ve ever dealt with. If they dislike working with people they need to get out of that business!!

This company did a poor job on my roof. It took months and months they stood me up multiple times and one random day at 6 am without any communication at all FOR MONTHS they showed up at my house to finish the job. Then they sent me an invoice for the poor incomplete work and hounded me (while I was traveling for a few weeks and I let them know that) for the payment after forgetting about me for months. Avoid this company at all cost.

Antonio and his team did such a great job. There were some minor hiccups, due to no fault of their own, and they went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and satisfied with the work done. They were courteous, polite, respectful, kind, and above all professional. I hope to have a lengthy working relationship with them!!!
