Mike and his team added a third stall to our garage. Really happy with the craftsmanship and experience. Timeline was what was promised and where there were delays we would be communicated with and explained why. Also answered all our questions throughout the project and helped understand options. Would use them again and recommend.

Project: Detached garage/workshop
Mike and his crew built a 24 x 30 detached insulated and heated garage/workshop for me this past year 2022. Mike was very easy to work with, very accommodating and was on schedule. He constantly kept me informed of the work they were doing.
He is a very meticulous and detailed builder and always open to your suggestions.
All of his contractors were also very easy to work with and very professional.
Very happy customer and would definitely recommend to anyone. Thank you Mike for such a great job !! Love the shop !!

We hired Stafford Construction Spring of 2019 to build a detached garage. Our decision was based off his experience and timeline of the project. Right off the bat the project start date ended up being at least a month behind schedule and start to finish it took multiple months longer than initially planned. Throughout the entire process we had to initiate almost every point of communication; very few times did we get a phone call updating us on where things were at and why there were delays. Things like waiting on the lumber delivery or having ordered the wrong siding (despite having the siding sample to match) are all things that would be understandable delays however we had to make several phone calls to get in touch to find out that was why nothing had moved forward in the project for weeks at a time.

Some of the contract workers were not very professional. One crew left the construction site on our property a mess with garbage and another crew arrived unannounced at 7 am on a Sunday to cut and pound cinder blocks into place. The last major issue came with the driveway. Once it was completed we quickly noticed that the grade of it left a significant water pool in the center of the driveway instead of draining properly. This has caused safety issues in the winter when the melted water freezes. We had to reach out several times to get in touch with Mike and then ultimately spent months trying to get in touch with the cement guy ourselves versus Mike taking care of the issue.

Overall once the project was finally completed we were very happy with the structure of the garage itself and have no complaints of the craftsmanship there. We did end up coming to a monetary agreement that satisfied both parties and allowed everyone to consider the project complete.

The numerous timeline delays, lack of communication and driveway installation issues left us extremely unhappy with the overall experience with Stafford Construction and is the reason for the low review.

Stafford Construction is professional and communication for my project was very responsive. Mike's team and his sub-contractors (roofers and concrete) worked great together and completed my project (2 1/2 car garage) in a timely fashion. I'm very satisfied with the appearance and the quality of construction. I would recommend Stafford Construction for any home remodel job.

These folks built a 12 x 20 deck this past fall. Very happy with materials and labor quality with no surprises. Highly recommend.
