S&S Design Build. WOW. I can not tell you how many times our HOA came back and asked for more information and S&D quickly provided that information. Once everything was approved S&S Design Build said delivery will be the week of X and it was. They said they will be here on Y date and time and they were. Which was maybe two days after delivery. They kept my property and the work site clean. When the job was done, they were wiping down my patio cover to make it shine on day one. We had some extremely heavy rain a day or two after installation and there was some leakage and they quickly scheduled a time to comeback and resolve the issue. I had many different contractors perform work over the years. These guys would be a repeat for me as they take pride in their work and work as if they were doing for a family member or their personal home.

Great experience in getting our deck covered. Provided everything needed for our HOA to make approval easy. The product provided is high quality.

My expectations as a customer are pretty straightforward—if I give a company money for a deposit, I want frequent updates. And by “frequent,” I mean weekly, or every-other-week.

I gave a substantial deposit to S&S build in October 2023 for a roof/cover for the back deck of a new build. I was informed well in advance of the deposit that materials had a 2-3 month lead time, and the project would require permitting. No problem.

After the deposit, radio silence. In late November, I had to follow up for the status of the permit (and then confirmed myself that the permit had been approved about 10 days after I’d paid my deposit!), the status of the material being ordered, the status of the material delivery, and I had to contact them multiple times regarding when I’d be scheduled for installation.

I was able to get the work completed December 6th. The crew left a pile of waste on my driveway at the end of the job, and told me a truck would be by on the 7th to pick it up. The 7th came and went, no pickup. I messaged them on the 8th asking when they’d be by. I was told that “at the latest” they’d be by on the 9th to pick up.

It’s now well past noon on the 9th. Trash is still here. I’ve followed up AGAIN, asking for ETA, but since it’s Saturday, it seems stupid to expect a response. And since we’re having inclement weather, I’m having to go and fetch the bags of trash that’s blowing into my neighbors yard and put it back into the pile.

The quality of the deck cover, and the finished product is great so far. Five stars there. But unless you like having to constantly follow up for basic information, I would strongly encourage you to look at other providers in the Nashville market.

Edit on 12/13/2023: Prior to the owner posting his response to this review, he followed up with me directly to offer his apologies for the grievances I’ve listed above, as well as remediating the trash on site. Transparency also improved regarding final inspections and job close out. I appreciate the receptiveness to my feedback, when he could have just as easily ignored this review. As such, I’ve increased my rating to reflect the improved collaboration and communication. (And added pictures of the finished product, so all can see the quality end result.)

We had a screened in patio built in May 23 and couldn’t be more pleased. It’s exactly what we wanted, the crew did a great job, they were nice, cleaned up and everything went according to plan and as discussed.

We really enjoyed working with S&S Design to rebuild our deck. Everything was done in a timely manner. Our experience was wonderful and our new deck is beautiful!

All the staff is incredibly nice! Workmanship is off the scale and beyond satisfied with our new patio cover. Highly recommend!!!!

Mr. Mota and his team did an excellent job screening in our back porch. The speed, workmanship, and attention to detail was superb. Would recommend them to anyone!

My husband and I weren’t sure what we wanted to do in our outside area. After speaking with an employee, we decided to go with their Fresco pergola which is an aluminum pergola with a cover. There were multiple different options to choose from and we chose the bronze aluminum. Along with the pergola, we wanted to convert our master bedroom window to a sliding door and screen in our existing covered patio. It took about 5 weeks for everything to come in but once everything was in they were SO FAST. They did everything we wanted in 4 days and they did it with perfection. We ran into a few snags with the screen door (like electrical we weren’t expecting to encounter and the step down from our room to the exterior). We told them we would like a concrete step and the concrete was there that day. They also matched our interior and exterior paint to complete touch-ups. They communicated with us through the whole process. I cannot say enough good things about this company. Hire them!

Just had a screen enclosure done by these folks. I interacted with at least 3-4 different employees - the professionalism was impeccable across the board. The workmanship was also fantastic! The screen was nice and tight. They made sure to get every corner covered in the framing, even though our corners in the already-covered patio were not straight. Price was also very reasonable.

S & S did a great job on my patio cover, and motorized screen. They are very professional and give attention to small details that contribute to an excellent finished product. They work in a timely manner and make sure that you are happy with the finished product. I would use them again and highly recommend them.
