Southern Trace is my favorite contractor! They took my idea of an office on stilts overlooking the lake, and not only made it a reality but it became my favorite space in the house! They are trustworthy, hardworking, honest, and dependable - as well as being easy to talk to and work with.

Highly recommend Southern Trace! They’re great to work with because they’re responsive, honest, show up to do the work, and do quality work at a fair price. And if it’s not right, they’ll make it right. We’ve used them for several projects, including this 1,200 sqf deck and screened in porch addition overlooking the lake . We've recommended to neighbors, whom have also used Southern Trace. Highly recommend!

Southern Trace tore down my old wooden deck and built an expanded deck made out of cool touch materials that turned out fabulous. I couldn’t be happier with the work that was done, as it was done on time as promised. They were extremely professional open to suggestions for changes. The cost was extremely competitive with other companies that we got estimates from. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking to do any kind of remodeling in their home or might be looking to build something new. I know and I need work done again. They’ll be the ones that I call.

We had a great experience with Southern Trace. We added on a master bathroom to our house and hired Southern Trace to “ dry in “ the room. Warren helped us with our design plans and also with approvals. He and our project manager Ivan were very easy to talk to and also to contact. All the construction crews were professional, worked very efficiently and cleaned up the work site very well. We were impressed with the speed of the work and also the quality.

Southern Trace helped us with a nuanced bathroom renovation; including rebuilding some other parts to accommodate a change in floor plan.

While no job is without its complications, they were professional and delivered with quality work at the agreed upon budget. In my experience, you cannot ask for much more. I will certainly work with them again and highly recommend them.

Major shoutouts to David, Juan, Scott, and Ivan for all their great work.

Southern Trace is building me a gym. It's a 16x20 building with all the standard fixings.

They, along with the folks they employ have done an outstanding job.

Logan (project manager) has been a delight to work with.

It should be all wrapped up in a week or two.

EDIT: Dropping 2 stars and here's why:

The gym was finished in November. After multiple attempts to followup, it took them unti February 26th to cleanup the yard, grade, hay and seed.

After the power was connected on February 24th, the minisplit wasn't working. They took a quick look on February 26th then finally sent out someone to look again on March 17th. At that time he said it was broken seals and a freon leak. It's now May 15th and it finally got fixed today by the same guy who came out on March 17th.

Once they have your money I guess it's "good luck" when trying to get anything else done. It's a shame it cost them 2 stars and it cost me some energy to spend time writing this.

Thanks and regards,
Dave

I have used Southern Trace for roof replacement, and most recently to work on my shower to make it safer as I age. The two young men who have been here are wonderful, David and Noe. Their work has been neat and my bathroom is looking so nice. Such a pleasure to see young people with good old fashioned work ethics. They both seem to take pride in their work. I would recommend this company to anyone needing home repair or renovations!

Southern Trace replaced our old 2nd story deck, adding an enclosed screen-room and staircase. The final product exceeded my expectations, and I'm overall very happy with the experience. Warren was communicative and responsive, and worked with me on various options to bring the project in line with our budget. Their crews were respectful and efficient. I dealt mostly with Jose and Cameron, who obviously knew their stuff. If I have any future projects, Southern Trace will be my first call.

Warren was knowledgable and professional, thoroughly explained the process, the materials and the results that I could expect. The Southern Trace crew did an awesome job!

Southern Trace built a covered porch for us. They were very responsive, the workers were extremely professional an they completed the job in a timely manner. They went above an beyond. They gave me ideas when I wasn't sure what to do. But the most important They had a project manager come daily an check the progress on the porch. I can't say enough good about this company. I'm planning on having this company do a siding, window, gutter job on my house in the near future. I wouldn't use anyone else.

Southern Trace installed a new roof, soffit, gutters and flooring for us and they were very professional with excellent communication and workmanship. They put shingles on our main roof with metal over the porches and our house looks amazing! We've had so many compliments on how good it looks. They are currently working on another project for us and we will continue to use them in the future. Thank you for your quick & reliable service!

Southern Trace should be called Southern Trash! The roof I had replaced had a skylight in it. When they installed the new flashing it was done incorrectly and leaked. After several trips to try to repair it they did figure out what the problem was and repaired all of the interior damage ok. The last trip Warren, owner, was like if it leaks again it needs a new skylight. The leak isn't coming from the skylight it's coming from the flashing around it. They slapped a bunch of sealant on everything and called it a day. It worked, for a while. Well give it 8 months and it's leaking again. I'm sorry it shouldn't be that complicated to properly flash and seal a skylight. I know they can be trouble but that's not an excuse. Beware of giving them business involving skylights, the technology confounds and confuses them.

I definitely recommend them to anyone needing prompt repairs! Their staff were very communicative, responsive, professional, and friendly; I observed a leak from my roof into my daughter's bedroom in the wee hours of the morning. By later that morning, I had an appt with Brett to come out and assess the damages and costs for repairs. After speaking with him of my options, I was able to get an appt for the next day to have the issues fixed! By 3:30p, my roof was repaired by Warren! If you need any roof repairs or inspections done, please check these guys out!

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
