I gave ONE because ZERO wasn't an option. They use non-licensed day laborers when possible. Not up to code. They left me with a hole in my living room wall. I pulled permits and they asked why I did that. BECAUSE I WANTED IT DONE RIGHT. Stear clear. Oh and the price did not reflect Non-licensed workers.

I was in a time crunch to get my nursey floor installed, and Jonna & Rick came to a swift rescue! From the initial point of contact to the floor being finished was less than 2 weeks! They were on time, like clock work, arriving at 7:30am on the mark, and were in and out with-in 2 hours! Yes, it was only 1 room that I needed their services for, but they didn't hesitate at the small size of the job.

Initially my MIL was going to re-do our floors, but it was becoming more of an issue than we had initially thought. So with our floors half demolished and a baby on the way, we were panicking. I reached out to a close friend who had nothing but glowing recommendations of their work and I said DEAL! Rick came by the following week with his partner Trevor, and his son Ryan. They were quick and precise with their work and even gave my dogs some loving before packing up and moving on to the next job site for the day. I will definitely be returning in the future if (more like when), we need more work done on our growing home!

My husband and I recently had several home improvement projects completed by the team at Solimine Contracting, and would definitely call on them again. We would happily recommend their services to friends, family and all others. From start to finish, John, Jonna, Jorge and the rest of the team made the process easy. They were quick in responding to any questions or concerns we had. Jorge and his crew worked incredibly hard each day, and the projects were completed in a timely manner. We are more than satisfied with the end result, and glad we chose Solimine Contracting to handle our projects!

My husband and I highly recommend Solimine Contracting to anyone, and have recommended them to friends.

John Solimine is a very knowledgeable, trustworthy and fair contractor. From start to finish the entire Solimine team was incredibly helpful, responsive and professional during our master bathroom renovation. It was a complete gut job, and John/Rick/Jonna/Trevor/Ryan made a major construction project feel easy and were so well coordinated. We’ll be sure to give Solimine a call for any interior project in the future. Thank you for making our master bath vision come to life!

In August of 2021, Anderson Renewal informed us that, before they could properly install our new sliding glass doors in our sunroom, we would require the help of a "major contractor" to resolve issues concerning our surrounding deck and wood rot due to moisture damage.

Contractors were very busy at this time, many were not even returning phone calls, and we needed to get our windows installed before the change of seasons. John Solimine returned our call within 24 hours, arrived at our initial meeting on time, and gave a very accurate and honest assessment of the scope of the work that would need to get done.

In short, the rot that we uncovered was just the tip of the iceberg and the damage was far more extensive. We discovered that deck footings in the original home design plan from decades earlier were missing. We needed a new deck, with proper cement footings and flashing where the deck met the exterior walls around the house.

John was completely up front about the fact that his crews were involved in other projects, but that he did work with sub-contractors who might be available to help. His office would still handle all logistics and payment arrangements.

From the moment we met John, our sense was that he was making every effort build a relationship with us. He was always on time, he was always very thorough with his explanations, and he and his staff were always in good communication with us throughout the duration of the project.

The subcontractor Flavio and his crew were polite, professional, and hard-working. When they were able to set a completion date, they honored it. We had our beautiful new deck, our sunroom had new wood siding, and our windows and glass doors were installed before the cold weather came on.

When John came by in person to accept the final balance, we could not have expressed more gratitude for the quality work. We recently painted the deck to match the paint on the upper deck that was untouched.

Many thanks to Solimine Contracting. We recommend them highly and will call on them again for future projects.

Great family-run business with a courteous and professional team. Always responsive and honest. They did our flood remediation, with repair to flooring and drywall, installed an interior French drain and sump pump, and also designed, built and installed a brand new bathroom for us. We couldn’t be happier with the end result and we will definitely use Solimine again for any future projects.

My fiancée and I recently bought a home in Danbury and had several home improvement projects on our wishlist, the largest of which was rebuilding a deck. After meeting with several companies and getting quotes, we decided to go with Solimine Contracting as their quote was competitive and after meeting with John, we both had a feeling of confidence that this was a reliable, experienced company. It was the best decision we could have made. John, Rick, Jamie and the whole crew were a pleasure to work with. They were here early every day, were meticulous in their attention to detail, and completed the entire job in one week. Everything turned out beautifully and we couldn’t be happier. We definitely plan on using Solimine Contracting for other future projects. I would highly recommend them for any home improvement project!

We had to get most of our house redone due to a flood (covered by insurance). We chose Solimine Contracting to do the job and we were very happy. There were a lot of bumps in the road dealing with insurance, public adjuster, mortgage, etc. John from Solimine was always supportive and helpful throughout this process - e-mails were responded to immediately, he offered advice and basically worked on our behalf to get the job done in a timely manner. The workers were kind and respectful and did an excellent job overall. I definitely recommend this company - very professional and reliable.

We worked with Solimine on our master bathroom project. After several quotes, they came in well below the others. The crew was a pleasure to work with. They were on time everyday and stuck to the deadline of 2 weeks. The consulted us every step of the way and we’re flexible when we added or changed the original plan. Very happy with the results.

Don't Expect a 2nd Coat of Paint

Overview: We were looking to update our bathroom with a new tub and "shower surround". And, while at it, we wanted to have a water softener installed in our basement.

We heard about Solimine though their commercial that ran on a local FM radio station. We checked out their website and called them. The sales manager complained about how far our residence was at least twice during our various conversations during the project.

Projects:
1) Bathroom: Install bathtub and shower enclosure
2) Basement: Install water softener

Pros:
Final product appears to be satisfactory as far as I can tell.
Willing to perform the work even when no one is at home at the time.
Communication easy via text, email or phone; however if you ask more than one question in your email, you may only get one of them answered in their reply.
Each time I contacted the sales manager about an issue, he sent out someone to fix it next day.

Cons:
1) Bathroom: Install bathtub and shower enclosure
Everything was a mess. Once the bathroom was finished, I had to wipe down the bathroom walls, vanity, fixtures, light switches, walls in the hallway, etc. There were drips & drabs of compound on the wall & bathroom floor. Some work had to be done via the soffit in the back of the house. I found debris left on my deck and lawn.

We had to have some sheet rock installed in the bathroom to complete the project (no issue) which had to be painted. I requested they put on 2 coats. After the painting was completed, I requested confirmation that the wall received 2 coats of paint. The reply I received was not yes or no, just that it was “finished.” The walls are textured. The new wall is smooth - now i have 3 textured walls and one smooth wall.

On day four, I received a text saying the job was “done” but when I came home I found that the bathroom ceiling light would not turn on. I determined that the circuit breaker had been tripped.

Once I got the light on, I found that the bathroom fixtures were covered in a white substance (compound?). These are brand new, shiny fixtures that we bought, now disgusting looking.

The light fixture and medicine cabinet that belonged on the wall that was painted were, instead, sitting in my hallway. They had not been reinstalled after the painting was done.

Where the tub meets the bathroom floor was not caulked. Neither was the vanity/floor (the vanity had to be moved to install the sheet rock.) The side panels of the enclosure were not caulked to the back/wall of the enclosure.

When we took our first shower, there was no hot water. The faucet had not been adjusted to provide hot water.

2) Basement: Install water softener
On day of the water softener installation, a significant portion of carpeting in our basement was soaked with water. Our dehumidifier was turned on, possibly to help dry the carpet. The air intake grid of the dehumidifier was covered in some sort of gunk.

Contacted the sales manager. He explained the carpet was flooded due to an “unrelated leak” that occurred when the guys had to run out for about 10 minutes to pick up a part. He said it looked like a connection was not properly secured. Could have happened once water ran thru after connecting softener and testing.

White debris (broken pieces of wallboard?) was left on my basement rug … for multiple days.

Possible Use of personal items
I was not asked my permission to use any of these items but it’s my impression they were used:
2 drop-clothes used by the workers to protect the stairs.
Blue masking tape used to bundle cardboard.
2 of my rags found in the construction debris/trash, and one towel used and left outside

Mysterious Coincidences during the construction period:
Outdoor faucet disabled. (Screw on wheel handle tightened; water would not flow.)
¼ inch gouge in the wall leading to bathroom
5 inch gash in screen door
Bathroom circuit breaker tripped
Soapy substance in outdoor watering can

Overall, I am happy that the work is complete but the side issues are a concern.

John and Rick worked together to design and remodel our master bathroom and to convert a bedroom into a walk-in closet. The team worked quickly and professionally through all stages of the project. We really appreciate their help and are now enjoying the fruits of their labor.

I had been contemplating remodeling my kitchen for some time and went to a home show at Chelsea Piers in Stamford this past spring where I met the Solimine crew. They were a very friendly group of people who seemed to know their business so I asked them to come and give me an estimate on my project. I have a small galley kitchen with a side by side washer and dryer in it. I watch a lot of HGTV so I knew what kind of look I wanted but wasn’t sure I could get it.

John came to estimate the job and design the kitchen and I must say he was very thorough in every aspect of the design details. I don’t think he missed anything and I had great confidence that they could do the job. After meeting with a couple of other companies, I chose Solimine Contracting and I am so glad I did!

I cannot say how much I love my kitchen! John, Rick Solimine, Trevor and Jaime were phenomenal in transforming my space into the exact kitchen I envisioned. They were very easy to work with. From the demolition (which happened on a horribly rainy day) to cabinet, tile and countertop installation to finishing work, they worked hard, long days. Obviously, nothing goes without a glitch here or there and the timing was a little longer than we had planned, but all in all, the end result was well worth it!

I would highly recommend Solimine Contracting for your next project. I would definitely hire them again if I had the need.

I just wrote the final of many checks to Solimine for a virtual gut job of the main floor of a pieced together "everything is custom" DIY nightmare of a house. The previous owner had done a lot of work himself, badly, and it had a very bad layout and just needed to be torched. Alas, we decided to fix it.
I hired Solimine based on John's communication. Their price was not the lowest or the highest, their reviews not the best or the worst, but the communication is what got me. I really felt like everything was walked through extensively and he made sure every question I had was answered, before they were even hired.
I had my kitchen and two bathrooms completely gutted and redone, a bar taken out in the basement, the floors upstairs refinished, three walls removed, and heavy electrical work. Solimine finished the job 1 day "behind schedule" (not counting minor touch ups and cosmetic things, that was a few more weeks, but full function of each portion was restored when they said it would be) and about 5k over budget. That 5k is partially stuff I asked for as things went on, and partially expenses that were not included in the quote but that we knew were likely (support headers, more extensive electrical work than expected.) So I feel that the budget part was spot on. JF Granite did the counters, and they're lovely. You'll pay more to get the counters done "through" Solimine versus off the street yourself, but it's worth it. Our counters were templated the day the cabinets were completed and were installed 3 days later. You won't get that trying to manage it yourself.
Rick or John were on site nearly every day for some portion of the day. Trevor was the main man on the job and I really can't say enough good things about him. My toddler daughter actually cried when he left, she enjoyed watching him work so much. We lived in for most of the reno, something I don't recommend but it was the easiest option for us. They took care to minimize disruption to our lives as much as possible, and were mindful that there was still a family living in the house.
There is no doubt that if additional work needs to be done in the future, Solimine will be our first call.

We recently completed a kitchen renovation with Solimine Contracting and we are so very pleased with the results. When the kitchen was finished Rick asked me if it turned out the way I thought it would and my answer was “no” – I couldn’t imagine it turning out as beautifully as it did. We found the team at Solimine to be responsive, professional, flexible and trustworthy. I can’t say that there weren’t issues along the way (when you’re doing a major renovation, that’s inevitable) but every time there was an issue John and the team responded very quickly and the issues were taken care of. As soon as we recover from this renovation, we’ll be calling Solimine up to do our bathroom!

We have three bathrooms at i95 & Kicks 1055 studios! They were terrible. Toilets never worked correctly, rooms themselves were outdated and gross! We hired Solimine Contracting - John & Rick came out to provide us with quote and scope of effort. Jonna provided suggestions on how the room should be remodeled - tile, fixtures, colors, etc. Bottom line ; we are delighted. The Solimine team demo'd the bathrooms one day, remodeled the next and day three we had an awesome, beautiful bathroom - fully functional - that is really perfectly designed - clean - newly painted and tiled! The entire Solimine team was responsive, neat, professional - true artisans! I would highly recommend Rick, John and Jonna - for any size project - even building you a new home! Thanks Solimine Contracting! Well Done! Bob
