Installing two Tesla batteries took longer than expected—about 6 months including permits—but the quality of work was excellent. From the start, the regional Nevada manager, Nathaniel Lynn, was very professional.The technician, Joe, was knowledgeable, responsive, and demonstrated great work ethic throughout the process. Overall, I'm happy with SolUp’s services and would recommend them.

We were introduced to Sol-Up by energy consultant, Kasondra Cory. She spent about a hour and a half telling us the basics of solar including panels, batteries, sizing for our home, how the crew would install them and the approximate cost of the entire project. With-in a couple of days we decided to move ahead and met again with Kasondra. We put $2000.00 down and signed the contract. As soon as approvals were signed by NV Energy and the City of Reno the crew was ready to begin installing the panels and battery and in approximately 1 1/2 days the job was complete. After more inspections were done NV Energy installed the new meters. At that time we had a functioning solar system.

We have had the system now for over six months with no problems and an energy savings of approximately $1,000.00.
I am a very satisfied customer and I highly recommend Sol-Up.

I’ve used many solar contractors over the years but Sol-Up was far and above any of the other contractors. They’ve handled all of the paperwork and permitting and made the whole process very easy. They showed up on time for the installation and had all the parts and equipment needed to do the complete and install in system in one day. It was obvious when watching the installers that Sol-Up had processes in place and everyone just did their job very efficiently. They thought of everything including the first time any installer had put screen around the outside of the solar array to keep the birds from nesting under the panels. They did everything I’d hoped for and more. If you want a top notch solar system professionally installed I’d highly recommend Sol-Up.

We recently installed our solar panels and have been in operation for a couple of weeks. Sol-Up took care to design a solar system that would deliver the amount of solar energy we needed to power our home. They worked with us to determine the type of panels we wanted and the placement of the power walls, and answered all of the questions we had. They provided excellent customer service by keeping us posted of progress during the design process, and the waiting process (getting approval from NV Energy took a while). During then installation, they worked quickly, and paid attention to the visual appeal of the panel placement as well as the efficiency of the placement. Our house had some interesting challenges, and they worked through all of them with creativity and a smile. And post installation, they made sure we knew how to read and control our solar choices. All in all, we had a very positive experience, and we expect to have a minimal NV Energy bill!

I pretty much had an outstanding experience with Solup! Matt From the reno office and everyone involved in the reno office were absolutely fabulous. Jaclin in the Las Vegas office was awful. She gave me inaccurate information, scheduled visits and then unscheduled them without letting me know. She never mentioned that if you don’t receive a confirmation then the visit she spent so many hours scheduling, had now been unscheduled. She didn’t return messages or calls and was very difficult. Aside from her,
the process was painless and efficient! Matt and Joe were awesome!

I initially worked with Sol-Up and 2 other companies. I chose Sol-Up because my neighbor was pleased with them. Sol-Up has a showroom in Reno which also helped in my decision to contract with them.

I can say unequivocally that Sol-Up is outstanding. Each and every staff member is responsive and customer oriented. Communications are excellent. Every site visit was on time within minutes. Every worker’s work ethic was top notch. They handle all permits and obviously are respected by counties and fire departments because nothing needs to be resubmitted. All estimates of the timeline items were accurate. Even those out of their control.

If you select them , you can’t go wrong. I went with the Tesla Power wall and the SPAN panel. However, Sol-Up can install whatever your situation dictates. They even found me a roofing contractor and contracted with them as part of the installation, therefore it was completed 6 months sooner than if I had used a roofing contractor I was considering.

They are quite simply an outstanding company to do business with.

Install crew was on time every time and did the job as planned. Team was nice and patient with my questions and cleaned up jobsite like they were never there. Had great support from office team too and subsequent follow up visit after power on was nice touch to make sure everything was operating!

Kasondra, my salesperson was amazing in getting me an excellent priced system and didn’t even try to upsell me. The project coordinator Colleen kept me informed of any updates they had, the actual installation team was extremely fast, polite, and professional, with high quality work completed. From start to finish, signing a contract and to permits, to installation, and then finally permission to operate from NV energy only took a total of 62 days or so. Incredible service, I would highly recommend going with Sol-Up if you’re in the market for getting solar panels.

If you are at all considering a solar system for your home there is absolutely no other firm you should consider than Solup. I researched extensively every contractor available and Solup came up on top in my ranking. That research proved to be spot on when it came to the customer experience and installation. My Sol up project representative walked me through the process step by step. Sol up interfaced with my HOA and advocated my rights to install solar when the HOA expressed concerns about the system. Sol up got everything sorted out and started the installation quickly and efficiently. Once the system was installed Sol up took care of everything necessary for the city inspection and the Nv Energy sign off. Once the system was energized they again came out and commissioned the system and reviewed its operation fully with me.
In all it was a seamless and stress free process. Again, if you are considering solar there is only one company to select- Sol up!

For a lot of reasons that had to do with geology, my project was harder than most and Sol Up was great about the install. The system works great. And I am now living (mostly) grid-free. Things took slightly longer than maybe I hoped, but the end result was more than worth it. A great choice for solar in NV!

We worked with Nathaniel Lynn in Reno for the purchase and set-up of our Sol-Up system over a year ago. Aside from the fact that he was easy to work with, the installation was seamless and worked on time as he predicted. Our electric bill went from almost $200/month down to only $30!!! It is an awesome investment for our finances to have purchased our system outright. We're thrilled!

Another update to my previous review back in January.
I recently had Sol-Up come to install solar panels and another Tesla Powerwall to take advantage of the 30% federal tax credit and reduce my electric bill to nothing but the base cost.

As expected, they performed expertly. I dealt with Matt again in the beginning who had the patience to answering my gillion engineering questions and give me several options on equipment and cost. The only delay was out of their control as it takes a few weeks for the building department to approve start of the project. That's typical around here. Once approval came in, Sol-Up's coordinator got things scheduled with just a few days.

I was surprised how quick and efficient the 3 solar installers got my panels on the roof (just a few hours) and looking perfect. I also appreciate the fact they installed bird mesh around the outside of the panels to keep out the birds. Many competitors won't even do that.

Again, I got Cody and Francisco to install the extra powerwall. And yes, they take care to not only make sure it works properly, but to look nicely as well. Roman does the inspection with the building inspector and that came just one day later. So, everything was done quickly. The building inspector said "Looks great. I wish my other inspections would go this well."

Then there is Joe and Jacklin who stay on top of the scheduling and installation. SUPER RESPONSIVE. I could ramble more, but you get the point. I'm a picky electronics engineer with nothing but praise about Sol-Up.

Sol-Up did a great job installing solar and batteries on our new house! From the moment I first spoke with Matt, through working with the Joe on the implementation, everything was handled professionally. What made it more remarkable was that I was remote almost the entire time, and I just needed to give them access to the house and garage. They got everything done on time and correctly. Thank you!

Sol-Up is the BEST!. They stepped in as a rescue project ... after my previous solar contractor, Encor Solar, completely botched the project and then went bankrupt. After two years of bad experiences with Encor (with the Better Business Bureau which backed Encor, right up to the moment of their bankruptcy), I expected the worst for any solar contractor ... and what I found in Sol-Up was THE BEST! They were super professional throughout. If I had any questions and/or concerns, they were there for me. They worked with me to help get my roof repaired (due to the damage from Encor's installation). They reconfigured the panels on my roof, for more efficient charging. They handled all of the bureaucratic paper work from NV Energy. And on the very same day that NV Energy approved the installation, Sol-Up came right out and got it operational.
And I will say it one more time: Sol-Up is the BEST!

This company has been a real pleasure to work with for our solar installation! From Dustin, our salesman, who was willing to reach out and find the answers to our questions if he didn't already know, to Colleen, our project manager, who was on top of everything, start to finish. The installation team was also excellent and got the job done, leaving no mess behind. Home improvement can be a pain in the neck, but Sol-Up made the installation of our solar system stress free. We could, without hesitation, recommend Sol-Up to anyone considering Solar!

Great experience so far with Sol-up! I got quotes from 4 places in town and it was between Sol-Up and Great Basin Solar but ultimately went with Sol-up as they were a bit cheaper with a very similar solution. I currently have the panels installed and am waiting for NV Energy to get the bi-directional meter installed and activate the system. Customer service has been responsive. They did minor damage to the gutter during the install but hired a roofer to fix and now it’s better than it was before the install. Excellent all around.

Great experience! I had 21 solar panels, a powerwall 3, and a SPAN panel installed by them. Everything works.

Now mistakes can happen, and when they do, you can really tell what kind of company they are based on how they handle the unexpected situation. In my case, they were very quick to remedy an accidental damage to the ceiling. One of the installers drilled too deeply through the roof and it punctured the ceiling, leaving a hole visible from the inside of the house. However, the very next day, they patched it, and a few days later, they got a painter to come in to fix up the paint. Damage was completely fixed with no visible signs of it.

I’m super happy with the results, and was surprised at how fast they were able to fix an accidental damage. That’s why I’m giving them this good review.

I spoke to Brandon and he was very responsive informative and forthright with information about cost, savings, rebate from government, and financing. I did not feel pressured in any way and would recommend this company to anyone considering solar panels.

A Virginia City Highlands resident recently asked the community for a solar installer recommendation, and I accommodated him with a Sol-UP project description at our Goldfield Rd residence. The installation was executed flawlessly, and it is functioning as designed.

I chose Sol-up because they are a real company with staff that designs, permits, installs, and is there post project to work out kinks. They have an office and warehouse in Reno, and they use German, not Chinese panels.

Their work was outstanding in all phases of the project, with a highly responsible customer service representative. They did such a great job on my Gardnerville house that I had them do my South Tahoe house. Both are running smoothly.

They were my first choice to install my solar system, due to their years of service to the community, and the quality of their equipment. The reviews of their work were mostly very high also. So I talked to 4 other companies first and scheduled them last. The prices were very similar, but the Sol Up rep answered all my questions, and some questions that the others weren’t able to. I signed the contract that day. I really didn’t want any Chinese panels, there’s are German made.
The install crew did a great job, explained everything to me in simple terms so even I understood. At 1130 my system was producing 3.66 me of power, couldn’t be happier. Thank you Sol Up!

Sol-Up installed our solar system 2 years ago. The system is top notch providing the power we need. Sol- Up has provided excellent customer service and is great to work with. We didn't have to pay for power until January last winter and then had low bills through the winter.

Sol-up is a great company to work with. Brandon was on time for our initial meeting and explained our different options and choices. Once the decision was made, Sol-Up took the reins and did all the hard work. Installation took one day! They were available for any questions from beginning to end. Great company to work with.

Solicited bids from several local companies for system to supply our 3,200 sf home including two EVs. The bids were similar in price but what stood out about SolUp was the local team that earned my business. They were professional, courteous, honest, and followed through on their commitments. Another differentiator was the system warranty that was double what others were offering.

I worked with Brandon who was a complete class act. Professional, knowledgeable, and above all, honest.

Like any business, they have standard terms, conditions, offerings etc. Nearly all of the standard items worked just fine for me, but the one or two modifications I requested were honored, without any red tape or push back.

One big deal for me was the appearance of the system. I’ve seen systems with what looks like miles of exposed conduit running all over the roof, exterior walls, etc. It looks awful, and I’d personally not purchase if that was the only option. Knowing appearance was important to me, Brandon had the installation supervisor come to my home, inspect the roof, attic, garage, service panel and more to ensure there would be NO (ZERO) external conduit, all before I signed the purchase agreement. That is service.

Installation occurred on the date promised by a very professional and well trained team.

Approval for permission to operate the system takes some time and coordination between multiple entities (City, utility, homeowner, and company) and Colleen handled this like a pro. Her communication is best in class. Colleen anticipated questions and provided information in advance of any request. She was proactive and a pleasure to work with..

It’s important to note, Brandon, Colleen, the installers and every single individual I worked with are employees (not contractors) of SolUp. There is no finger pointing about any issue because they are all employees, not contractors. This is important.

There were several ‘white glove’ moments during the process, and I’ll mention just one.

Once the installation occurs, there are inspections that are required. After all inspections, the utility then reviews your paperwork and places you on a schedule for their final inspection. In my situation, there was some issue with the paperwork that required it to be resubmitted, and the clock restarted. These things happen.

Here is the ‘white glove’ treatment. While waiting for permission to operate, I received a very large power bill, double my previous months bill. I sent the bill to Colleen with an inquiry as to if she might have any idea what was causing the substantial increase. Colleen wrote me back within minutes, indicating that because of the delay in permission to operate, SolUp would reimburse me for the entire bill (not just the increase). That is excellent customer service, above and beyond my expectations.

The day after turn up, Brandon made a personal visit to our home to ensure the system was operating properly, answer any questions and ensure our complete satisfaction.

I trust you’ll agree, the above is a text book example of excellent customer service.

Solar companies often times have a poor reputation, and perhaps some well deserved. My experience with SolUp was the gold standard for excellent, professional, and honest business. I highly recommend.

Found Sol up at the Reno home show in March 2024. Got a couple of quotes and hired Sol Up for several reasons, price was about 15% below other quotes, Nathan Sales Manager was professional and offered real reliable information not false info like correct tax credit %. Installation crew was great did a good job and project was finished in about 6 hours. Residential 10 panel system plus installation of 220v EV charge plug. All communication with HOA and City was done by Sol Up. All conduit and controls installed in garage with no visible conduit outside. System is only 7 days operational so actual performance unknown however so far about 28kw per day. Clean installation pictures below.

Sol-Up was our first Solar consult, followed by 2 more. We like to keep our options open and research things before making decisions. By far, Nate provided the best customer service amongst the 3 companies. He answered every single one of our questions in detail. If I didn't understand something, he explained it differently to ensure I understood.
After the consultation, he contacted me 1x to follow up. When I told him I would contact him when I was ready after exploring our options, he was respectful of that.
When I was ready and contacted Nate, he responded to my text very quickly. I then spoke with Colleen who helped schedule our site survey the day after I contacted Nate. We are now officially going Solar.

Tried another company before going with Sol-Up. After 6 months we were nowhere with them. Canceled their contract. Saw Brandon Elario installing panels across the street at our neighbor's home. After talking with Brandon we signed the contract at the end of October with Sol-Up and we are up and running within 3 months! We also have a metal roof and they were great in dealing with that extra issue. We are very pleased with communication and service from Brandon and everyone at Sol-Up involved in our solar panel journey. Would definitely recommend them.

The Sol-Up rep Nathaniel gave an excellent presentation this evening. The company had done their research on our particular situation before he visited so we felt confident in the information he supplied, and subsequently the viability of going solar.

The sales presentation was excellent. Understandable, clear, detailed, etc. Delvered without condescension or pandering. We haven't decided yet what we will do, we appreciated this strong presentation.

Mr. Nichols was good at providing details and answers. I talked to three providers. The other two were thin in details, often omitting vital information. If you asked the right question, you might get an answer. Mr. Nichols knew more about the systems the other two were specifying than they did. He gave good information about the positive and negative characteristics of the various options. Additional research that I did, confirmed what Mr. Nichols said about the various options. We worked through a plan that provides flexibility for future plans.

Brandon is very knowledgeable and personable, no pressure, came to my house and described system/answered my many questions… he has been consistently available through design, permitting and production. I’m VERY pleased with the entire team from the office, through sales and installation, now operation and monitoring. Watts are hapnin!

Sol-Up has been a wonderful partner in helping my family switch over to having solar on our house. From the initial sales interaction all the way to completion, the team at Sol-Up was professional and very transparent with how the process would work. I had the pleasure of working with Steve as my sales rep and he was extremely knowledgeable and was a great partner in building a plan that worked for our house. During the inspection of my house, Sol-Up determined that my house required a new roof first. Sol-Up partners with a CTR Roofing which was able to completely strip and reroof my house in a DAY! Thanks to the 30% tax credit, I pretty much got the roof for free when buying my solar setup thanks to being able to wad the roof into my solar financing.
The roof got done on a Sunday and by the next Tuesday I had all the support racking and wiring on my roof ready for panels. A week or so later, I had all my panels on the roof, inspected by Sol-Up and the City a couple days later. Working on PTO with NV Energy now but shouldn't be more than a couple weeks till I'm all good to go.

From beginning to end they were top notch. Great communication and they were willing to work around our crazy schedules. Our reb was Brandon and he was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of having solar installed. He was able to answer all our questions. Brandon went over every step in the process from signing the deal to getting the new bidirectional meter installed and made sure we had no questions. Unlike many other sales reps he didn't over promise and checked in with us to make sure everything was going well.

The installers were on time and worked quickly the install was flawless and the attention to detail was outstanding. The guys went over the system and it was all labeled in easy to read labels.

One particular service we really apprecaited was that Brandon coordinated working with a roofer and helping with issue that we had during the project. Experiences with other personnel could have been better and left me with the impression that customer satisfaction wasn't as important as it was for Brandon.
The overall experience had some unfortunate avoidable bumps and I think Brandon could make a good operations manager.
Still, we're happy with our solar panels and are looking forward to years of saving on our electric bill.

Responsive and professional work. Since this company is local to Nevada, they know what they're talking about when talking about net metering with NV Energy. Some of your national chains have outdated information and may misinform you. I highly recommend Sol-Up.

I am very happy with my decision to purchase my solar system from Sol-Up in Reno. I did extensive research and received multiple quotes from all of the local businesses; Sol-Up made it a fairly easy decision to go with them. Their price was fair and the quoting process was simple and transparent. I didn't feel like I was getting "sold" on anything by Nathan, and I was very happy with the promptness of all our communications. He stayed involved throughout the whole project which I was very impressed with. Anita, my project manager, was the exact same. She answered the phone almost every call and replied almost always within the hour. She was easy to talk to, made any issues or questions easy to solve, and kept me in the loop during the whole process without me having to reach out. The work turned out excellent, and they even came back and reworked a portion of the conduit that they thought could look better on their own volition. This company has a solid team and seems like they are in it for the long haul. I will be recommending them to anyone I hear is looking to install a solar system.

We had talked with two other solar companies prior to SolUp, and had not appreciated the car dealer approach of "sign the contract, and details later". Nathan, at SolUp was the first to provide the specific details we needed. He was also available for each of our phone calls or emails. We had a complete layout of the install, and a visit by Joe, their on-site expert - before signing a contract. We very much appreciate having the inverter INSIDE the garage, and no outside wires or conduit. We had driven by other companies' installs, and wanted to avoid having those on the outside. We had that assurance up-front form SolUp, and their crews were a pleasure to work with. NVEnergy is slow on approval and inspection. All panels are performing great!

We considered three different solar companies, but chose Sol-up because they are highly experienced and don’t use sub-contractors. We are glad we did because as the project started we realized that there are many different moving parts involved, especially with city permits, inspections and NV Energy paperwork. Sol-up took full responsibility for every step and kept us well informed throughout. We felt that Sol-up treated us like VIPs and gave us priority in scheduling any steps needed to complete the project. The install was fast, the crew was vey professional and cleaned up thoroughly. Everyone was great, but Joe and Nathaniel were both exceptionally easy to work with and called back immediately if we had any questions.

Nathan is a wealth of information very professional and genuine. Our experience with Sol Up has been awesome, I highly recommend them to any & all interested in Solar. Can’t say enough about this company & their entire crew.

I took bids from three companies before deciding on Sol-Up. Nathan provided a comprehensive and detailed proposal for our project that fit our current and future electricity needs perfectly. The equipment provided is best in the industry and comes with a parts and labor warranty to back it up. The install and inspections went very smooth. The Sol-Up team did a fantastic job from start to finish. I would definitely recommend them. With the net-metering tiers likely to change again in favor of NVEnergy, I would make the decision to go solar, now.

Update: After nearly one year in service our system continues to outperform the estimates. With switching our HVAC to an all electric heat pump, and replacing our gas water heater with a heat pump water heater (both were over 20 years old and needed replacing anyway), our utility bill dropped to $30 for both June and July. We are super pleased with Sol-Up and the equipment they installed. We definitely recommend getting an estimate from Nathaniel or one of the other team members. We believe you’ll find their offer to be far superior to other companies.

The person I worked with in person was wonderful and they answered all of our questions and I went into detail, from products used, durability, how they handle hiccups, how they handle conflicts, any relevant litigation, and user reviews. I weighed 3 different companies on all aspects of how business is done, and I chose Blue Raven, but it was really close. They used different products, but nearly everything else was the same. There were also several in depth reviews from Blue Raven from customers on performance at all stages that really cinched it for me that the company would stand by their promises.

The part that made me leave this review was one of the representatives calling me while I was at work. I informed him that we went with Blue Raven and this guy proceeds to try and get me to reevaluate my decision. He pushed so hard and was so angry that I would call his sales tactics predatory. When I say I made the decision, that wasn't an invite to disparage another company and demean the research I put into the choice. No means no, and trying to bully me into another choice was uncalled for and unprofessional. I am PISSED that conversation even happened. Not going with a company that bullies me into a decision. Full stop.

Edit:
A business manager contacted me about the phone call the next day and set about making it right. The person who called me is being held accountable for how he talked to me and Steve did his best to assure me I would not be bothered further. I appreciate that they took the time out of their day to correct the problem and apologize. Like I said, Sol-up and Blue Raven were extremely close in terms of business model, and both products are top of the line. I would expect that their work is exceptional, but I simply chose the company that worked best for me and it came down to how I was treated as a person and preference on business model. I am amending my review from one star to three.

Great company, great people. It’s truly a pleasure dealing with people who take pride in the work they do. Can’t recommend them enough.

Great team to work with, we looked at a lot of different Solar companies and sol-up was the only one that could answer all our questions and they went a step further and left us with a ton of information on the company and all the products they use so we could research them and make an informed choice.

Sol-Up and their entire team were a pleasure to do business with and did a great job throughout the entire project. I researched a lot of Solar companies and requested bids from 6.
