Cautionary Warning for Prospective Buyers! Apologies for the lengthy review, but it's crucial to share the comprehensive details of my experience with the Smith Family Remodeling business.
Initially, Danny Smith presented himself as exceedingly pleasant during the sales process, assuring complete satisfaction with the purchased windows for my home. Regrettably, this amicable facade crumbled after payment. Danny's numerous mistakes during installation were not only unprofessional but also served as a pretext to charge me, the customer, for his errors. Despite his claims of being a religious and fair person, my interactions with him cast serious doubt on the veracity of such assertions.
Danny's communication skills were severely lacking, and his business practices proved to be unethical, marked by unfulfilled promises and shortcuts. The scope of work included the installation of new windows, sliding glass doors, and the removal of a wall with the addition of a properly coded beam.
The first red flag appeared when Danny removed two of the windows and ordered incorrectly sized sliding glass doors, to cause delays. To rectify his blunders, he charged me an exorbitant amount, purportedly covering his expenses. Additionally, the discovery of rotten wood during installation provided him with an opportunity to charge an unjustifiable $4,300 additional for what essentially amounted to a day's labor for two and $300 worth of materials.
Further issues arose when he incorrectly installed a makeshift beam, resulting in unstable flooring. Despite my reservations, Danny insisted it was correct, only admitting fault after persistent challenges. His excuse that building regulations had changed was proven false upon investigation, exposing his lack of honesty and integrity.
Post-window installation, problems emerged due to manufacturing defects, compounding my dissatisfaction. Danny failed to follow up on these issues, necessitating my continuous communication with both him and the window supplier, Spec Building Materials. The culmination of this disappointing experience occurred when Danny, after repeated attempts, ceased responding to my messages and blocked my number.
Upon contacting Spec Building, I discovered that Danny had no intention of honoring the warranty, underscoring his immature and unethical business practices. In summary, I strongly discourage engaging with Danny Smith and the Smith Family Remodeling business, as his conduct and proficiency fall far short of acceptable standards. By the way I also found out Danny is NOT licensed Beware!
