We hired S&M Construction to remodel a master bath and they did an excellent job. Gerardo is a great contractor who listens to your ideas and brings your dream to life—he’s easy to work with, and the quality of his work speaks for itself. He’s mindful of the projects budget or agreed-upon estimate and timeline. He advises on each aspect of the project and seeks your permission and understanding if there’s a deviation in budget, scope, material, or completion time, he’s very good at speaking up about it well in advance which I really appreciated.

He makes sure you’re % satisfied with his work before he deems a project complete. In other words, if you’re not satisfied, then the project ain’t complete and he’d work to address whatever issues promptly.

Gerardo is very responsible, responds to messages promptly, shows up to work on time, and treats you and your home with utmost respect.

In short, S&M Construction LLC, and the man behind it, is well-rounded, and one of the best home improvement, general contractor, or handyman companies I’ve worked with.

S&M did a fabulous job on our front porch, right down to the porch swing. We’re careful who we trust to do structural work like this, but all the stellar reviews made up our minds. They did amazing work, the price was right and it was done so quickly. The team was on site every day until the job was done. I can’t recommend this company higher. We have many other jobs they will be doing at our house.

Hired S&M to replace a door that was in very poor shape and to repair drywall. They did a fabulous job! The home is over 100 years old and I know it was a challenge to get the door in so beautifully, but they battled through it without a complaint or any sign of frustration. The door is perfectly set and has no gaps now. The drywall was just as great. They repaired three different sections and the room looks great. Like a new space. They were careful with my home and laid cloth where they had to walk and cleaned up entirely from their work. I will definitely hire them again if I need work done and will recommend to friends and family.

I had found S&M via reviews, and after having Gerardo out to look over and quote repairs from our home inspection, I knew I had found the right person for the job. He explained so much and told me how to fix items and what would require a professional; he wasn't pushy and didn't up-sell me at all. I called him as soon as we closed on the house.

There were quite a few DIY projects done by the previous owners that required attention: incorrectly hung and wrong side round doors. Missing headers and some structural concerns on top of my requested improvements: loos, sink, windows, dryer vent, &c. Literally every project that was started ran into some issues due to the prior "improvements," some of which seemed absolutely mental even to laymen, so they had their work cut out for them, and they absolutely got everything done. I was so pleased with the finished work. Gerardo was really informative throughout all of the projects, even showing me how to plaster the windows, as I had wanted the trim done differently than the typical US way. He picked up the materials, gave me tips and tricks, and made sure I understood what needed to be done so I could match them to the windows they had installed. Which I absolutely loved! He even jumped in and helped while I was hanging kitchen cupboards and offered up some tools to make life easier, which they did, and we were very grateful!

Estaban, Alejandro and Ever were all very polite and didn't mind my watching or asking questions, and I was really happy with their work. All around, I was incredibly pleased. I'll definitely be calling for future work, though considering the quirks my new home has, they may avoid my calls. Pricing was super fair, even with the unforeseen issues popping up at every turn. You should absolutely reach out and get these guys in; you won't regret it!

S&M Construction did an amazing job building my deck with steps and installing my storm door! His team was very professional and thorough every step of the way keeping me informed of any adjustments or decision points. His honest work and pricing is rare and is the reason I will hire him for future projects. After having several sub par contractors, this was a satisfying experience.

I called S&M Construction because of all the 5 star reviews they had. And let me tell you, they did not disappoint!

I originally had work done on my house by another company (a very well known local company) that did a horrible job. S&M came out fixed and repaired all the damage that was caused by that companies poor install. He re-routed my dryer vent and re-installed a bathroom vent and repaired the second bathroom vent.

S&M guided me through the repairs, he gave me options and we talked about all possibilities. He made me feel “heard” with my concerns and ideas. He did not just come into my house and say this is what we are doing.

He was quick to call me back and come out to give me a quote. He came out very quickly to start and finish the job. He was very respectful of my time. He and his crew were very conscious of not bringing in any of the winter weather into the home, and cleaned everything up better than what they found it.

I am beyond pleased and will be calling S&M Construction in the future!

I contracted with Gerardo to construct a bathroom in my pole barn, and it was probably the smoothest experience I've had with a contractor. Gerardo's estimate was fair and all inclusive, he was on time, communicative, and I was pleased with the quality of his work. I appreciate it that he provided oversight to all of his subcontractors and, whenever an issue arose, he made sure to bring it to my attention and suggest possible solutions. He completed the bathroom very quickly, and made sure to pull all of the appropriate permits. I was very happy with the end result and would not hesitate to hire Gerardo again in the future.

"G" and crew were complete professionals. They arrived when they said they would. They communicated along the way so I what tasks were completed along the way! They ensured everything was up to code and key components were ready for inspection. There were zero call out from inspectors. I recently used S&M Construction to redo my bathroom. After receiving quotes from numerous contractors I decided to move forward with S&M. They were very thorough and provided me with all the information needed to understand all that was required to have my bathroom upgraded on time and within my budget. They showed up everyday on time and worked 8-9 hours each day often without me at home. I can not be more happy with the final outcome. I highly recommend them not only for a bathroom remodel but any home improvement projects. They will definitely be my first point of contact for my next home improvement project.

Gerardo and his construction crew did an awesome job! The project involved removing our existing back stairs, building a new set of wider back stairs that faced a different direction, and with a more extended landing. We are VERY pleased with how it turned out. Gerardo is professional, the project was completed in a timely manner, and his price to complete the quality work was reasonable.

Posting for my husband since Google is having issues posting his review: S&M Construction resurfaced our wood deck with composite decking. The deck was better than expected. We have a small elevated 2nd floor deck and had several contractors come out to give estimates. The first contractor came out and gave a quote the same day, but for some reason he did not want to put it in writing (big red flag). Another contractor responded back 2 weeks after the visit. The third contractor came out and quoted a price unreasonably high. The last contractor has yet to respond after stating that they will give an estimate in 2 to 3 days. Gerardo was the only contractor that kept his word from the time of giving an estimate to completing the job. His price was fair and it stayed the same with no additional charges. I believe if I chose one of the other contractors, they would have pulled the old "bait and switch" by adding on additional charges for "unforeseen circumstances." S&M Construction is organized and cleaned up the area without an ounce of debris left on our property. Thanks to Gerardo, our new deck is more sturdier than ever. The solar lights on the deck add a warm and inviting feel, and provide added security and visibility at night (see pics below). We are very happy with our deck, and will use their services for future projects.

We recently had the pleasure of utilizing S&M Construction to remodel our master bedroom and bathroom. Mr. G was extremely customer centric. He and his crew showed up on time, used care during the demolition, and offered suggestions along the way to help us create a beautiful and practical space. (e.g., He suggested we change the swing of the bathroom door to improve access, add heated floors, install an additional light fixture to ensure adequate lighting in the vanity area, expand the use of the basket weave tile in the shower area and use an alternative grout color to make the tile really pop). He also identified minor issues and proceeded to fix them (e.g., installed a missing ceiling fan bracket, fixed a leaky exterior faucet, and installed bathroom fan ventilation). He treated the job as if he was working on his own home and provided project updates daily. This was by far the best contracting experience we have ever had, the results are everything we hoped for, and we plan to use S&M for future renovations.

Highly recommend S &M construction and will be using them for the future projects.. called S&M construction and Mr. G was very professional and very respectful... They demo the whole bathroom and completely remodeled it... Took our vision of our bathroom and made it a reality... We even had an unforeseen issue come up and Mr. G and his guys stop with her doing and tackled that issue before it became a major problem.

One year later... It wasn't obvious at the time of completion, but nailing the boards to the deck structure got skimpy toward the end. Have identified several board ends where no nails were driven, and as many with only one nail. Unfortunately without the nails, the boards have warped upward and resist attempts to flatten them.

I highly recommend This Company, My home needed multiple repairs and total bathroom demo and remodeling, the guys we're on time EVERY MORNING & Worked hours upon hours throughout the day in all weather ! They were very respectful of my home & family. Communication Skills were excellent. At times I was not home they are very trustworthy & treated my home with care. The Job was done efficiently and effectively!! Awesome job ,my family and I are very Excited for our new and updated bathroom & other repairs. The fact that they take pride in their work is so important, they work to complete and finish the whole job and make sure that the work is perfect and correct in every way. They really take their work seriously.

I had a bathroom put in my basement. And Gerardo and his crew, were making sure every detail was done to perfection. He discussed it with me and worked to fulfill my vision. From the tile work to the flooring every detail was done and done beautifully.

The whole crew is hard working they really put the effort in the whole project.

In the process of getting home ready to put on the market and a some work that needed to be done quickly. I cannot recommend Gerardo enough for the professionalism, knowledge, and hard work he demonstrated for us. The job was simple enough at first asking him to clear out an exhaust vent duct that had been overtaken by a mother bird and then install a cage around the exterior vent 25 feet up the side of the house. That's it.

However, upon cleaning out the vent duct, he noticed that it was ripped open by the bird. He then went out of his way to replace the vent duct fully with an upgraded metal duct. In addition, upon leaving the attic after installing the new duct, he noticed the mother bird in the attic. He CAUGHT THE BIRD and we freed the bird back to the wild.

All of this was done with a good price and a positive attitude throughout the whole process. Gerardo is a very competent contractor and, as demonstrated today, has a wide variety of useful skills. I will definitely be using his services again!

S and M Construction is a fantastic company. Gerardo is always on time. Professional and very reasonable when it comes to pricing, and most importantly he does excellent work. I had him install a door for me as well as to build a closet on my first floor and both jobs look like absolutely nothing happened. They both look like the house came like that and I was actually very pleasantly surprised by the high quality of his work especially considering how reasonable his prices are. I wouldn’t trust anyone else and I highly recommend this company.

I contacted S&M Construction yesterday for an extremely loose banister in my 100+ year old house. Gerardo responded very quickly and came to fix the issue within 24 hours. He used his expertise to actually open up the bannister and fix it from within, which I didn’t even know was possible! He restored the safety while ensuring the beauty of the old house remained! I’m one hundred percent using S&M Construction for all of my home repair/update needs and I would recommend him to anyone looking for an honest, knowledgeable, hardworking and all around great contractor!

We had mold on our ceiling from a roof leak and they came out the next day to fix it. I can’t express how much we appreciated the mold getting removed in such a timely manner. They worked so efficiently in a rough work space, our stair case, and I was really impressed! They cleaned up everything from the repair and they are the cleanest workers I’ve hired yet.
