Simple Power Solar

I have been working with the Simple Power team for over one year now from the initial research, to purchase, to installation, glitches, and service. The entire team has been communicative with thorough explanations. There have been some challenges, but I have always felt confident they have my best interests at heart and will work through whatever it takes. Definitely recommend Simple Power.

Mike Rocco was detailed and provided all information required for our system. He answered questions and helped us solve implementation issues. Tyler McCool provided excellent and timely field advice regarding technical questions and overview of system operation. Highly recommended.

After my fully off-grid system seemed to encounter efficiency issues, I reached out to Aspen Electric to see if they could help me diagnose the issue(s) and help me resolve them. Instead, they just told me I should scrap the whole system and replace it... to the tune of $38,500. I do NOT have the kind of money laying around and the system had been working great for me for a year and a half. So, I called Simple Power Solar.

Their technician called me to talk through the issue before coming out to diagnose, which saved me $ even before the appointment! He had me send photos and share details that equipped him to save time when he got to my home. Their technicians were skilled and professional... finding an issue with a breaker on my primary solar array that they fixed quickly! The whole thing ended up costing me less than $370 and is working really well for me again!

The Simple Power Solar team also provided me with some maintenance guidance and examples of upgrades I might want to consider in the future, which was really helpful--I know I'll want to upgrade at some point, and now I know who I'll want to hire to do that work! At no point did I feel like they were trying to sell me anything I didn't need, and they truly helped me address the actual issue instead of just trying to get me to shell out tens of thousands of dollars for an entirely new system I didn't need!

Long story short, there are very few electricians in our area that are well versed in fully off-grid systems, and I'm SO GRATEFUL to have found Simple Power Solar!!

Simple Power Solar installed two Powerwall 3s in my Truckee Home. They worked seamlessly with the necessary agencies. The installation is a work of art as the installers took great care with conduit and cabeling even in areas that will never see the light of day again. Initial start up issues were handled expeditiously with their support team working directly with Tesla. Go Simple Power to get the project done correctly

Had a post install (May 2024) issue come up that when brought to Simple Power Solar's attention was addressed almost immediately. Really appreciate the responsiveness by their support team.

Simple power handled all the details, worked closely with us on construction details and interconnection issues and delivered on their promise. Although the project timeline was longer than we would have preferred it was eventually completed. There are alot of steps.

Great experience having these guys install Tesla Powerwall batteries and solar panels; they are committed to doing things the right way, and they got the job done much faster then Tesla would have. During the winter season NV Energy’s grid tends to have lots of outages and momentary drops (Zephyr Cove area). Our system has already been tested: during a 2-hour outage on Thanksgiving Day, the Powerwalls kicked on fast and silently, running the entire house (including the central heat pump) until the power came back on. With the batteries set at 80% we could have gone 12 hours. After a long run with generator maintenance issues, I am thrilled to have a more reliable solution in place.

Everyone that worked on our install was phenomenal. They were attentive to our needs, quick to respond to questions, accommodating with change requests, and kept us informed every step of the way. Everyone was friendly and helpful (and great to our dogs who oversaw their work : ). Couldn't be happier!

If you want your solar done right, with a local crew, this team is fantastic. Everything is super clean and they installed a fast charger for the tesla in the garage to boot. From the quote to the installation to the close, I have nothing but gratitude for Simple Solar. Thank you!

When my system stopped producing power i was not sure who to call. Solar City was the original installers then it switched to Tesla. Was unable to navigate thru their website to find a solution and talking to a live person appeared not to be an option.
I picked Simple Power Solar based on their location to my former employer. They were helpful right after the first call, gave me the information needed to resolve my system, so we moved forward.
There was a time element from diagnosis to repair but that was out of their hands. Upon the eta date for the replacement inverter arriving, it appeared the original supplier was unable to provide them with the product, so Krystal started to follow up for finding a solution after a few days a solution was found, and my system is back up and performing as designed.

Their office staff was incredibly helpful, and their technicians spent the time and effort to research the problem in my workplace's solar inverter and ground faults rather than just saying we needed a new inverter for $30k! If you have system that is no longer supported by the original installer, we highly recommend Simple Power Solar.

Professional service and quality work. Matt, Cody, and Sean installed a Span smart panel, a Span Drive EV charger, and a Tesla Powerwall 2 battery into my home as upgrades to my existing solar array. They answered all of my questions, kept me up to date with the process, and cleaned up when they were done.

We had Simple Power Solar install our panels a couple years ago. Although it took a while to get them installed, we were happy with the service and the professionalism of the installers and the office personnel. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. We haven't had any issues with our solar panels to date. If we ever do, we have confidence that Simple Power Solar will come through for us.

We had simple power solar do our panels a few years ago. We were not living in town and they met us on the rare times we were in town, kept us informed, dealt with renters schedules…. And we are enjoying very low energy bills! We are extremely pleased.

After installing solar panels and enduring a 4-day power outage from NV Energy, I decided that the most valuable investment was a battery to store the solar power so I could use it during another outage. Not too long ago we had an outage, and the battery switched over seamlessly. I’m very pleased.

I purchased a solar system from a national firm. This company was contracted by my original supplier to resolve start up issues and the did. Once they received the contract for the work they kept me informed. The Service rep Jon was well seasoned in this work. He was timely, polite and communicate exceptionally well. Because of Him I have now made Simple Power Solar my local agent and will be using them if as non warranty items arrive.

Simple Power has been servicing our system for years and we cannot say enough about the consistent quality of service, on time follow through and professionalism the team continues to provide. Thank you to the service and sales team for your outstanding work!

We purchased a 10.125kW solar system that included 27 "High Snow Load Rated" panels and an inverter. 100% of the panels failed in the first year. The warranty for these "High Snow Load" panels has an exclusion if you do not shovel the panels. My panels are located 30" above grade with sharp angle pitches. We shoveled half of the panels and they all failed. They declined to cover any of the panels under their "warranty" and recommended I file an insurance claim! Mike decided not to disclose his customer's ~15% loss experience on panels in place during 2017 and am sure they will not disclose their customer's loss experience in 2022-2023. Don't fall victim to their fraudulent sales tactics and move on to a more reputable firm that stands behind their product.

Simple Power has been helping me with my solar system since Get Solarized closed down which was 18 months ago. Get Solarized has been banned in Nevada but the Simple Power team has been great. Krystal the Director of Customer service is great with excellent follow up and responsiveness. I recommend you give them a call if you are looking into a solar system.

I called about solar savings. I spoke with Callum and we talked for a long time. He answerd all my questions without any kind of sales pitch. I was trying to figure out the bottom line and in the end...it was not what i thought. Thank you Callum. Good job!

We've had solar panels on our roof for several years and decided that it was time for a battery backup if the grid went down. Simple Power did a great job. First there are required permit from the city and electric company, which Simple Power handles. Then the installation of equipment and inspections, and finally the software setup so you have monitoring capacity on your smart phone. They are all very knowledgeable. The last employee who set up the software and monitoring, Sean, was spectacular.

My 8 year old inverter is broken and I've been having a hard time getting it replaced. Krystal at Simple Power Solar Service Department has been my rock. She has helped me in contacting my original installer (I thought they were out of business) and helped me navigate all the pitfalls of multiple company contracts (my installer - not Simple Power - bought the hardware from another solar company who purchased it from the original manufacturer, and they have been squabbling for the last 2 months about who's warranty is responsible for the replacement cost...)
Well, finally, things are beginning to move and I hope to have an install date soon. I wouldn't have been able to deal with all of this without Krystal. BEST SERVICE DEPARTMENT I've ever encountered!

Simple Power Solar installed a solar and battery backup system for us. The entire process was very smooth and they took care of all the design, permits, HOA approvals, etc.

The system was designed to meet the snow load requirements. Throughout the process we received timely updates and the system was installed on time. They were easy to reach anytime we had questions. Overall they were very professional and I highly recommend them!

I couldn’t be happier with the solar system that Simple Power installed last year. While this installation was complicated due to the constraints of my property, they did an excellent job of all aspects of the project from planning thru execution and support. Now that the system has been operational for almost a year, I am extremely satisfied with its functionality and relieved that I chose such a professional and capable team at Simple Power for this work.

It is difficult for me to determine where to start with the job Simple Power Solar (SPS) did for us as it was so complex. So I will start with that- complexity.

We had a massive solar system installed on our house, I mean really big. The array was spread across multiple angles of the roof, not a flat surface, not a contiguous surface, but many small peaks and angular surfaces spread across a 2,000 sq. foot roof. They designed the best location for the tiles, we get maximum sun and the system cranks out kilowatts.

In addition the the huge solar array, we had to install a new electrical panel, which included upgrading our power line drop from NV Energy, extensive electrical runs not only for the solar but new outside power outlets, a 50 amp run from the outside ground level panel up 2 stories into the attic and diagonal across the whole attic over into the garage to drop an EV charging outlet. This was extremely complex and difficult, and I don't know how but they did an absolutely perfect job. We couldn't be more impressed and happy.

Additionally SPS installed a second interior electrical panel, a Smart Panel which permits us to monitor and manage all energy usage in the house in conjunction with the solar system and the Tesla Power Walls, which they also installed.

All this equipment and requisite electrical conduits was installed perfectly, with well organized runs, excellent equipment placement such that I really enjoy looking at it since it is so well organized and just looks cool. 100% solid work, nothing to complain about.

Overall this was incredibly difficult job requiring multiple different high-tech equipment components to be tied together, with extended electrical runs up 2 story walls, inside walls, outside on brick walls. The work was perfect, and I mean perfect.

SPS's crew is incredibly talented, very polite and considerate, they showed up for work on time and finished the job on time with zero complaints or mistakes.

Honestly I don't know how they did this job as well as they did. I enthusiastically encourage anyone to consider SPS for your solar system requirements or other related projects/services they offer.

I could go on, but I will wrap it up here. Pictures of the system are included.

I wanted to write to give a great review for Simple Power Solar. They did our solar panels in 2019, which have been flawless and performing even a bit better than anticipated. And then they were able to find us a Tesla Powerwall, which are hard to find, and get it installed this spring. We love having the battery backup, and they made the process very smooth. We would highly recommend them for anyone looking for solar and battery backup in the area.

Was happy with the product so far and performance of the solar panels
The reason for not giving better rating is that they damaged our concrete path ( rarely used or visited) behind the house.
We did not notice the damage for some time after the install as we left for the summer shortly after.
When we first saw it , thought it was really odd for the otherwise flawless concrete patio to have this damage especially in a low use and sheltered area.
Further investigation lead to something heavy must have been dropped from the roof during the installation as it is directly below the solar panels
The company was called and we were told, too bad and they refused to do the right thing and repair it.
Very disappointing, so cannot recommend this company and suggest finding a more reputable installer.

We love our new solar, Tesla battery and car charger! Simple Power Solar made it as easy as possible throughout the process. They handled all of the details that a project like this requires and kept me in the loop at all times. Hillary was especially helpful and very quick to answer my questions. Simple Solar did a great job installing panels on our home in North Lake Tahoe. The process was easy and transparent. It took a while to get everything completed due to delays on the utility company side, but the Simple Solar folks were very responsive and helpful throughout the process. I would highly recommend them.

I would leave negative 5 stars if I could! I am 89 years old white veteran living in America and I have never experienced such rudeness from this company. I am deeply flabbergasted and offended. I had a COPD exacerbation after conversing with these people, cost me a hospital stay and a fat bill that I absolutely have no money to pay for. I am going to write a letter to the authorities about this company. I can’t believe how unprofessional they are and they treated me so badly, i am a victim of this terrible company. Do not recommend.

Let me start of my saying how wonderful working with Simple Power Solar was.

Our array was commissioned and turned on today and we have been exceedingly happy with every step of the process. The initial contact was quick and easy. We had a rep on site very quickly after our initial phone conversation . He was clear, knowledgeable and well informed about the regulatory requirements and limitations. He site review and resulting proposal was very detailed in both technical and financial respects.

Once we'd agreed to move forward we got on their installation schedule.
Their backlog meant it took longer to get started than I'd originally hoped but was not unreasonable and matched the expectations set in our original discussions.

The installation went flawlessly. We have a concrete tile roof and this can be a problem. They used a fairly new installation method that is billed as both quicker to install, less likely to leak and less risk of damaging the roof. The crew (both Simple Power employees and a special rep from the manufacturer for the roof system) were very professional, knowledgeable and courteous the entire process. They were done on schedule with NO problems at all.

The commissioning process (inspections, etc) went very smoothly with Simple Power handling the vast majority of the work.
