Shakes Roofing Inc did a great job on our cedar shake roof. Everything was done on time and they left my property in perfect condition. My roof looks fabulous!

Keith and crew replaced all the gutters at our house in Libertyville. We updated to 6” seamless gutters with oversized downspouts. They look absolutely fantastic and the rain is no longer leaking or running over the edges. They were thorough, efficient, and easy to work with.

Keith and his team were outstanding. Took time to answer a lot of questions and address any small issues clearly and quickly. Offered options and honest pros/cons of different choices. Did a full synthetic cedar re-roof and could not be happier. Highly recommend.

Can't recommend Shakes Roofing enough. My roof was a little tricky with it being an insurance claim. They worked hand in hand with the adjuster with any questions they had including multiple onsite visits. Very professional and helpful with photos, reports, email correspondence with insurance. Roof was put on in quick fashion and looks fantastic.

I called about a possible leak on my roof. I called and they were out within two days and had resealed where the leak was and some other work for a very fair price. Was happy with the work and price.

Keith was amazing and easy to work with. His patience with my decision process something my wife and I greatly appreciated. On top of his professionalism and service his pricing was fair and great. Highly recommend working with him and will definitely keep Keith in mind for future home projects

Called Keith to repair my roof along with misc. other tasks and it was completed in a weeks time. Quality work with great communication. As an insurance agent, I have had to deal with terrible companies along with bad experiences from multiple clients. Shakes has been hands down the best company I’ve dealt with thus far! Don’t even waste your time & look anywhere else.

I would recommend Shake's Roofing & Siding to anyone. Keith is great and made the entire process very easy. He was quick to respond initially and provide a quote (which was a great value compared to other companies) and to get our new roof installation scheduled.

My roof was completed on time and largely within budget. No problems thus far with the roof and the workers were professional. Would be 5 stars were it not for the offensive email sent to me as I attempted to re-hire for a second project. Apparently, an oversight of owing $133 on a $13,000+ bill was worth losing a $16k project. Tant pis.

I cannot say enough great things about these folks! Keith was incredibly responsive after a big section of shingles flew off my roof in wind. He turned the repair around in 24 Hours AND at a price that was more than fair! This is your roofing company!!!

I fb messaged and it gave me a number to respond to via text. I thought it would go to a sales person. Nope it goes to a rude personal employee or owner? Who said who gave you this number? I told them it was messaged back to me on fb once I inquired. They were rude saying I’m not a storm chaser and when I told them how old my roof was even though I inquired about wind damage they said your roofs not old, roofs last 20+ years. Do not use this rude company.

I called several roofing contractors to come out and look at our roof. One (popular) contractor was very unhelpful, not willing to come quote or refer me to anyone who could. But Shakes Roofing and Siding WAS responsive and was able to quickly come out and give us an estimate since we were under a time crunch. I really appreciate how responsive and communicative they were.

Keith was prompt and professional. The quote we received was the best around the work was top notch!

We recently had our roof and gutters replaced by Shake's and could not be more satisfied. The crew was hard working and got our roof done within a day. Our gutters were replaced a week or so later within a few hours. The crew did an excellent job not only with installation, but clean-up as well. Highly recommended!

I just had my roof done by Keith’s team, and I’m thrilled with the results. Frankly, I was nervous going in. I heard construction material prices have skyrocketed in COVID times. I heard about delays in construction due to supply chain issues, also related to COVID. I heard when roofers are done, you’ll be stepping on nails for years to come. I was worried my landscaping would suffer. I feared there would be add-on costs for unforeseen issues.

Well, guess what? NONE of that happened. The price was reasonable. The shingles and other materials I wanted were readily available. From the time I first contacted Keith to wrapping up the job, that all took less than three weeks. I don’t know how they did it, but there are no stray nails anywhere. My gardens came out unscathed. The final invoice matched the quote (yes, I realize roofers can’t predict what they’ll find under the old shingles, yet it’s still nice to see the final price matched the quote). They even moved my outdoor furniture back to its original location.

I could go on, but you get the picture. Shakes Roofing & Siding is AWESOME!

I would have given them a 5 star rating if their gutter repair sub-contractor had communicated with us about their delayed appearance. Once the gutter guy arrived he did do a good job so that is a positive. My experience with Shake's was all good, they delivered a timely and thorough quote, completed the work quickly and efficiently and I am happy to refer them to you without restraint.

We had our roof replaced and new gutters installed this summer and the end result is gorgeous! Chad Manchester was easy to work with and very patient. It took my husband and me a year and a half to finalize our roof decisions and Chad never pressured or hurried us. He answered all my questions and returned calls promptly. The roofers worked very efficiently and cleaned up well afterward. Mid-roofing, my husband and I inquired about having our gazebo and shed roof replaced; Chad was out within an hour to give us an estimate and had the work completed the same day. Later, when I asked about a few shingles that didn't look right to me, Chad didn't miss a beat--he had someone out to shift them a bit right away--even though no one else would have seen a thing wrong with the work ( I am very picky!).It is very clear that Shakes wants their customers to be satisfied. Keith and his team did an outstanding job on both our roofing and siding project this summer. The team was very professional and made sure that all equipment was organized and orderly at the end of each day. We particularly appreciated the care taken to clear the mess made throughout the day. Though siding can be a little noisy, the team did a great job of working efficiently, and let us know when they would be on break so our little one could get a nap during the day. They even helped our next door neighbor fix their siding job, even though it was done by a completely different company!
We are thrilled with the look of the house and with the work done. We have received many compliments from our neighbors about how the whole project turned out. Definitely check these guys out.

We used Shakes for a very minor repair. They charged a very small amount. Despite the fact that this was a low profit job, we were treated like royalty.

I had work done with this company and had nothing short of a great experience. Hard working, honest, and efficient. I would absolutely use them again. It's a shame there are people out there who post erroneous things on line to smear the name of great companies. People who post lies because they have nothing better to do. As a business owner myself, I take that personally. Don't let a few nut jobs deter you from using this company. The nuts are easy to spot too.. read their other posts! Nothing but nasty negative things to say. Well this company doesn't deserve a low review as they were courteous and professional at all times!

Had a roof put on in October 2017. It is September 2018 and the roof is leaking. Guys showed up to "fix" it and literally climbed on the roof for 2 minutes, then sat in his truck for 45 minutes playing games on his phone. Didn't fix it. Said there is nothing wrong. Ugh!!!

All of my neighbors asked who did our roof because it was fast, looks great, and they’ve never seen such thorough cleaning when it was all over. Couldn’t be happier with our new asphalt roof!

Shake's roofing was a fantastic experience for us! They were referred to us by a family friend who had just gotten his roof done by Shake's. We got our 20+ year roof replaced. Keith Knighton was the most unprofessional contractor I HAVE ever worked with!
He was arrogant and down right mean!
He blamed the poor workmanship on the "faulty shingles ".
We had the GAF shingle company come out and inspect the roof and they stated the shingles are fine and it was the worrkmanship.
Keith would not own up to his own errors.
His Foreman told me it was poor workmanship, and Keith told me I was a liar!! He yelled at me on the phone and stated this was was my problem, that I was too picky (broken shingles tar all over)
Keith could not own up to his errors( weather, gutters)
I paid Keith over 8,000 And roof is not finished.
DO NOT USE SHAKES ROOFING!!
VERY arrogant.

I highly recommend Shake's Roofing if you need any roofing work done. Very responsive folks. They turned around a proposal very quickly and they were priced very competitively when compared to others. They also helped consult me about gutter guards and installed those as well. Job was done in a day and they cleaned up and put everything back where it was when they started.

Keith is very professional and responsive. My experience with him was excellent, and if he isn't the best for the job, he has a group of specialists to make sure the job is done right.

Great experience! Keith (owner) and his guys were fantastic. Friendly, helpful, answered any questions. VERY reasonably priced and great quality for the money. Keith is down to earth and clearly takes pride in his work. He even did a walkover after his crew was finished and made sure everything was picked up and the work completed. The crew was very thorough and respectful of us, our cars, our property, and our dog - when they left, you'd never even know they were here, that's how well they cleaned up. Wow! These guys are the best! I have a 12,000 SqFt home. Not only did they get out right away to do estimate but they they stomped on all the other prices. The owner Keith came out himself and explained in such detail how it was all going to go. With the tear off of cedar i expected nails and wood scraps everywere. Nope couldn't find anything. Was very impressed with the management of his crew. Definitely recommend them to anyone...Good job boys! Keep up the great work.....
