This review is for the initial response to our water damage event. The initial contact with SERVPRO of Winchester was very fast after a referral from our insurance. The dispatcher, Karen was very courteous, professional and thorough in explaining what to expect and when to expect it. She quickly sent a follow-up email to confirm what we discussed on the phone. The initial response team led by Francisco arrived when expected. Francisco provided a brief explanation of what his team would do, and he inspected the damaged areas, and took photos. He then briefed his team and they quickly went to work removing the damaged building materials while protecting the undamaged areas and our furniture and belongings. The whole process including the drying and dehumidifying took about five days. Francisco was always available via phone if we had questions or concerns. At all times, the team performed efficiently, courteously and very professionally. We hope we never need this type of service again, but if we do, we won't hesitate to call SERVPRO of Winchester.

We were so pleased with the professionalism, courtesy, promptness expertise provided by SERVPRO. We had a relatively small house fire. Carlos & his team of Michael & Miguel came immediately after the fire to remove everything damaged by water. They placed dehumidifiers & air purifiers. They removed damaged carpets. All done in an efficient & timely manner. We thank them for all their efforts. The smoke team, lead by Amber came afterwards & cleaned walls & a pine panelled ceiling. They were quick & thorough. Shane, Kevin, Flor & Emyli went above & beyond & were very kind & thoughtful. Saul came & shampooed carpets & upholstery. He also went above & beyond. He was thorough & extremely courteous. We can't possibly recommend SERVPRO enough. Everyone through every step of our horrible process was top notch. This company runs like a well oiled machine.

I manage a condo building in Edinburg, VA. We had a fire protection sprinkler system leak starting on the 3rd floor that went down to the second floor and all the way down to the first floor. I called Servpro of Winchester and am glad I did. Their emergency loss mitigation team was phenomenal. It was a very difficult situation to deal with, but they had the proper equipment and know how. Since the loss mitigation team did so good I decided to use their reconstruction team too. They came a bit under budget compared to the original estimate. They worked well with our condo insurance company. The only thing I will mention is that it took reconstruction almost 2 months before they could start reconstruction. However, they did it right and all is well that ends well. I realize they have other customers to help too. We've used other companies in the past and Servpro of Winchester was much better than the competition.

Servpro is not a great company. They are shady and unwilling to help. They say they are willing to train but that is far from the truth. All they are concerned about it women in construction. If you’re a male forget it do not apply here. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. Asked for help and never received it. Just got told I should know what I am doing.

I was surprised at so many good reviews. Then we found on their Facebook page under ServPro team Warnecki that they are bribing their customers with Stanley cups and Starbucks gift card drawings for their 5 star review. Explains a lot.

Our dining room, kitchen and bathroom flooded 12/26/2023. We reached out to our insurance and they contacted ServPro to come out and dry everything up for us. Cory came out the next day, was phenomenal and efficient and got us taken care of. Because that was a good experience and they were preferred by our insurance we went ahead and contracted them for the job.

We worked with Ashley initially. She came to our home a week later to do all the estimate. She arrived at our home almost 20 mins late, complained about having to drive 40 mins to us, took a call from her child's school and didn't bother to excuse herself or apologize and left stating the estimate would be complete in 2-3 days and she would email it to me. After not hearing from her a week later I reached out multiple times with no answer or response. Our insurance had sent us the money for the job so they called to ask where we were in the process. When I told them they wouldn't communicate and we wanted to use someone else (especially since we could have had a different company do the job for almost 1/2 what they charged). They reached out to ServPro and miraculously we heard from them the same day. Meagan advised Ashley had been sick and would return that Monday.

I could document every single issue but will summarize by saying this was the way all the way through our dealings with them even when in communication with the president, Jennifer Warnecki (also the owners wife).

We had to pay 50% down so they could order supplies and get us on the schedule. Getting the proper information I'm not sure ever happened. I got an email stating their was a charge of 2.75% for credit card payments I immediately responded to asking what form would not be charged. After not getting an answer I started calling the office (went to a voice mail that was full so I couldn't leave a message), text Ashley, called Ashley, emailed Ashley and got no response. We finally get an email with credit card Auth and I went ahead and ate the fee since we couldn't get an answer only to find out the following day we could have done an ach transaction with no fee.

Then became the nightmare of scheduling. Once again, can't reach anyone. We weren't important even after sending thousands to secure the products needed and a date scheduled. I finally emailed ServPro and posted a comment on their Facebook page. We get a call from someone different scheduling for a new person to come out because Ashley is no longer working for them. Jennifer Warnecki shows up for this walkthru with the recon Foreman. There was no apology for their shortcomings thus far, she didn't even introduce herself as the president, then looked through the estimate like she was trying to charge even more. We upgraded our flooring for half the price of what we were alloted and purchased a new toilet and vanity which we discussed with Ashley and was included in the price. There was also money alloted for moving stuff from the rooms that we did ourselves which was supposed to be removed from the charges. I emailed Jennifer directly about this and it was one of the many emails that went ignored.

I can say when Jennifer got involved she was quick to rush to get our job done whether we could take the time off work or not. It went from a week job, to starting 2 days later with 3 days and 4 workers. What actually happened was 3 guys showed and they completed the job in 2 days. Jose and his crew were topnotch and did a great job.

The day before they started the work Katherine called and demanded full payment. I let her know per the contract we weren't going to pay in full before they started. We discussed the remaining balances and payments and she still sent the wrong forms. It wasn't until the following week we were able to get the payment situated.

Updated/Amended from a previous review: After an initial glitch in scheduling occurred, ServPro of Winchester apologized, accepted full responsibility for their error and were very accommodating. The franchise president personally contacted me and, subsequently, personally performed the inspection and provided an estimate for the services we requested. I am happy to update my previous review and give credit for the due diligence provided by leadership. Thank you, Bill, and ServPro of Winchester!

I love a contractor that will honestly tell you when work DOESN’T need to be done! I had some mold in the basement of my new home and made efforts at remediating it myself; I had Servpro come look at it to make sure it was handled properly, and Kevin Smith was glad to tell me I had done exactly what they would’ve done for me and that he didn’t see any remaining issues. Will gladly be using Servpro in the future if I have any similar projects!

Note: this review is specifically regarding packing services.

Arminda and her team were wonderful from the start — arrived punctually within the quoted window, were extremely pleasant and had a friendly demeanor and “can-do” attitude. Any question I asked or request I made was met with thorough explanation and/or prompt follow-through, including multiple calls to the reconstruction team that would be working on the job post-pack-out to coordinate which methods were best for the move and narrow down movement to only those items that were absolutely necessary. In addition to being of a high caliber, the work was also extremely efficient. I would definitely recommend them, and even suggested they start a separate moving service division for people who are simply moving house (not necessarily undergoing reconstruction)!

Update as of Nov 17:
Should have waited to do this review until the full moving process was complete. While the pack-out was great, the pack-back was an absolute disaster. First of all, the team showed up almost 2 hours late to the scheduled session. Secondly, supposedly due to understaffing, the full prior team, including the lead who ran the show previously — Arminda — was not there. This unfortunately resulted in a completely substandard process, as, according to the new team, Arminda’s absence meant that they did not have access to diagrams to aid them in locating whither boxes/items should be moved back (in my opinion, a decent dose of sexism was involved here as well, given that I was basically told that the men are just there to physically carry things). This caused my near 8-mo pregnant self to have to continuously go up and down stairs, aiding the team in trying to relocate my things properly. Winded and discouraged, after a while, I just gave up as the majority of things had been moved, but it was an extremely disappointing experience and level of service. Furthermore, we noticed markings on both some of our door frames and room furniture that correlated and indicated a lack of care on the part of the movers with our items. Overall, would NOT recommend.

Update as of Dec 13:
I was recently contacted about the previous update on my review. The company representative was very apologetic about the lapse in service and even delivered compensation for the situation. He also assured me that policies were being reviewed so that a similar situation was not repeated with any customers in future. I definitely regained some of my esteem for the organization due to this intervention and am happy to see the customer service functioning at such a high level. On balance, would give the company another chance in future.

She walked with me to determine what could be salvaged, explained each process she was doing (from cataloging what was being stored and what was determined to be unsalvagable), and what the follow-up process would be. This was the worse experience I’ve ever had with a company. It took 7 months to finish a job that should have been a fraction of the time. I went through about 5 contacts and two sub contractors. They kept getting fired or quit and then I was left with no follow up unless I made the effort to reach out. Very unprofessional.
No follow up at all, they sealed wires shut with drywall which was never fixed, removed my thermostat and never called me back when I’ve called multiple times on this, no calls about the basement repairs that still need to be completed, which I absolutely will find someone else to repair. Scratches on my furniture from movers. The complaints could go on all day.
If an issue would ever come up again I will never use this company. Just a terrible experience.

Extremely disappointed. This is the most unprofessional reconstruction team I have ever had to deal with. I have a construction background myself and this place does not have standards or morals. Matter was not resolved, was escalated to "said owner" Jennifer Rueda Warnecki who really could benefit from a few human resources classes. She is a fraud and is cheap. Would rather save a penny than go the extra mile and make sure the issues at hand are resolved. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!! WINCHESTER AND ALEXANDIA SERVPRO OFFICES ARE TERRIBE! I do not recommend this business to anyone if you care about quality and don't want to be ripped off!!! Save your money and go to ServiceMaster!!

I cannot say enough great things about this company and the employees I have had contact with. I had a bad water leak on Christmas Eve and Corey and Miguel were onsite at 9:00 am Christmas morning to start working to get things back in order. Corey has been above and beyond helpful in this situation from his knowledge of what needs to be done to his answering the 100s of questions I had. Migel is very polite, professional and an extremely hard worker. They were able to get my main living areas under the drying process by the end of the day. I hope that I do not need their services in the future but i can assure you that they will be the one I reach out to in the future if I do.

This "team" of professionals was outstanding. Kevin in sales was responsive to my initial call, expedited a proposal, was price competitive, and worked me in on a short timeline. The team of Mike and Robert who did the cleanup was exceptional. They showed up when they said they would and did what they said they would do! My basement flooded and I was in duress about the situation. I called Servpro up and they were able to have a team out to me same day. Corey came out, called beforehand, was extremely responsive and respectful and paid heed to all my questions. Corey and team did a great job handling the situation and worked in a swift manner to mitigate the situation.

EDIT: Changing my review to 3 stars due to their massive upcharge post completion versus the quote I was given. Not happy with that at all. Misquoted me and it cost me 2 grand extra due to it.

ServPro and subcontractor VCS did a good job, for the most part, of communicating and managing the project. There were some delays and missed opportunities for communication a couple times with regard to starting the project and ordering flooring in a timely manner, but everything else was spot on. Both companies were highly professional and considerate during the installation, I can’t say enough good things about that. Quality of work was 9 out of 10, with a point deducted for small (1/8”) chips in the laminate coating on the countertops at the edges that may have been unavoidable during cutting, and some barely noticeable damage at the back edges of cabinets where the odd screw was too close to an edge; neither worth mentioning to make them fix in my opinion.

Trustworthy guys; safe to leave alone.

Having worked with other companies in the past I would say these guys do excellent work for the money, and are certainly more readily available than any other contractor I’ve called.
