I'm so thankful to Sergio with his help. I had several projects I needed help with around the house. He was able to knock them all out for me very quickly. He also had very reasonable rates. I had such a great experience with him. I will definitely be using his services again. 5 stars all the way!

I had high hopes when I first contacted Sergio about a painting job! He was available on very short notice and flexible when the start date fluctuated. We dropped off the paint, he brought the supplies and his team went to work.

However, they accidentally put the semi gloss trim paint on the ceiling. The paint store did mess up the quantities, giving us 5 gallons of the trim paint with only 3 gallons of the ceiling paint, and I understand this was confusing. But any painter should know that semi gloss doesn't go on ceilings. This error created significant additional expense.

His initial quote was 10k and he ended up trying to charge us 14.5 without advance warning that the bill would increase by almost 50%. Yes, we expanded the scope of work slightly to include mudding and texturing a small new section of wall, but he charged us 1.4k for that when it should have cost half that at most.

We agreed to pay 11.5, but wanted him to itemize costs before paying the rest. Our contractor then walked through the house and said that far from doing multiple coats as we were told, the painters barely even completed one coat of paint. Very patchy, with many spots missing. I am very glad we held off on paying the full amount he tried to charge.

Overall the experience was a huge bummer. I was really hoping Sergio would be a great resource for all sorts of jobs at our new home, but we ended up feeling scammed. In a fair world, a significant refund would be appropriate, but we are just cutting our losses and moving on.

The positive aspects were that Sergio was initially responsive, available on short notice, and mostly communicative throughout the job. The poor quality of the work in combination with the attempted gouging were the issues that we really can't overlook. I typically don't write reviews like this, but our experience was really disappointing.
