I would encourage everyone to support this business instead of lowes. The employees are all very knowledgeable. At lowes, the employee didn't know what soffit and fascia was. When he did figure it out, the quality was cheap. We purchased everything we needed at SDC and although expensive, the quality was there and the young guys that loaded our truck were very pleasant and took great care loading our purchases. While the employees were loading our truck, I looked around at their lumber. Very good quality. Please support this local business!!!

Ordered custom windows and doors. Doors are beautiful and good quality. Windows came in exactly 3 weeks! Service is always friendly and accurate. Thank you!

I prefer shopping here over the local Lowes store. The staff is always friendly and helpful and most importantly, present.

Very good store! The perfect place for fans of the Carhart brand. The best maple syrup in town is here. A huge selection of goods for home, garden, construction, repair, fishing, crafts, outdoor activities etc. They always have a Seasonal decor. You can find a gift for every occasion. If you don't know what to give to your loved ones, give a gift card to the SDC.

I drove 50 minutes to this store location just because the johnstown store didn't have what I needed in stock. Somehow the price was 50.00 more for this item just because it was a different store location. The only reason i gave 2 stars is because thr employees were very nice people but they couldmt price match even though its the exact sane thing at the exact same company just a different location. Extremely disappointed. Same barcode/part number as well. I'm really not happy about this It seems like they just make prices at whatever they want.

Im lucky to have this place near my cabin. Ive used them to purchase wood bundles, windows/doors, paint, stains, soffit/facia, tons of hardware, you name it.
They've been really helpful for me finding things as well, like hard to find solid core knotty alder doors. I like that I can also have things delivered when I order lumber/cement, for a really reasonable price.
I was going to use them for a kitchen but without displays it's hard to buy into something sight unseen otherwise I would have probably gotten a kitchen from them too.

Folks in the lumber yard are awesome. Worked tirelessly to help me select lumber for a furniture project right near closing time. Nicely done!

Really nice store and really nice folks. Great selection of parts and supplies. They had the water heater valve that Lowes didn't.

Nobody had what I needed, no matter where I went and when, but SDC had what I was looking for and saved the day and couldn't be anymore thankful.

Great center, has a lot of home improvement needs. It was a great stop for me, and will be going back.

I really like Somerset Ace Hardware. It seems like they're very quick to see you and offer assistance. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Had exactly what I needed to fix my kitchen sink. They also have a ton of larger house hold repair stuff that you can rent instead of buying it. They also have all the normally building, plumbing, and electrical supplies you could need to fix most of your house hold repair needs.

Air compressor died on the job while in summerset this was the only place that had one they were fast and efficient and a great price would recommend the rental of anything to them

Paul and Doug are very customer friendly and service oriented with kind friendly personality. I'll take another 100 like them!

A locally owned "small" business. Shop local and support your community and neighbors. The prices are not at Lowe's level but it is a professional contractor business that happens to accommodate the weekend warriors too. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Especially if you get Mya. She is a wonderful young lady and they're lucky they have her. The same can be said for all of the full timers. Not to knock the kids that come and go. They are perfectly fine too. The customer service gets them a 5 out of 5 on it's own.

The selection is vast despite them not carrying the brands I prefer to use in my specialty trade, they can order them. It is very close to my home which more than makes up for some items being slightly more than the big box stores. Plus, as I said above, you're supporting your local community. The quality and selection of building materials, i.e. wood, cannot be beat by any Lowe's or Home Depot.

The people who work here are ready nice it's the prices of wood now omg a few board 700 dollars wow it getting to the spot of no return for these prices

The cashier tried over charging me by 60 dollars. When I called her on it, she was obviously irritated. 30 minutes after I got home, the state police showed up at my house because the cashier said I told her I was building a bomb. I bought plastic tubing and fittings. The police even laughed

I have been using this store since I moved up here from Md. years ago. I never took the time to write anything about my dealings with the store. Let me say from day one everyone has been so nice and helpful. It was always so much easier than going to Lowes or Walmart ,plus they always have what I need. Customer service is #1 here!
